SWA World Championship

The SWA World Championship is a singles title in Stardom. Also known outside Japan as the SWA Undisputed World Women’s Championship, it was created in May 2016 in Stardom for their new Stardom World Alliance (SWA), which included several promotions in Europe and Mexico. The title was first awarded in May 2016 when Io Shirai won a tournament to become the inaugural champion. The title is currently vacant as of November 2022.

As of 11/3/2022 there have been 9 SWA World Champions. They are listed below in order of reign, length of reign and number of successful defenses.

1-Io Shirai. 1st reign. Length: 5/21/2016-7/24/2016. Successful defenses: 1.

2-Toni Storm. 1st reign. Length: 7/24/2016-3/28/2018. Successful defenses: 15.

3-Viper (Piper Niven). 1st reign. Length: 3/28/2018-1/14/2019. Successful defenses: 2.

4-Utami Hayashishita. 1st reign. Length: 1/14/2019-1/26/2020. Successful defenses: 3.

5-Jamie Hayter. 1st reign. Length: 1/26/2020-9/17/2020. Successful defenses: None. Vacated title on 9/17/2020 due to being unable to travel to Japan due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

6-Bea Priestley. 1st reign. Length: 10/3/2020-11/15/2020. Successful defenses: None.

7-Syuri. 1st reign. Length: 11/15/2020-1/8/2022. Successful defenses: 9. Vacated title on 1/8/2022 due to being a triple champion and to focus on other titles held.

8-Thekla. 1st reign. Length: 1/29/2022-5/5/2022. Successful defenses: 2.

9-Mayu Iwatani. 1st reign. Length: 5/5/2022-11/3/2022. Successful defenses: 3. Vacated title on 11/3/2022 to focus on IWGP Women’s Championship.
