The TNA World Championship is the top singles title in TNA Wrestling. It has undergone 9 different name changes/iterations in its history. It was created in May 2007 after the NWA ended their business relationship with TNA and stripped NWA World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage of the title that same day. It was initially known as the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
