Super Junior Tag League Block B:
Match 5: Dick Togo & Yoshinobu Kanemaru beat KUUKAI & El Desperado. Kanemaru pinned KUUKAI with Samson Clutch.
Match 6: Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori beat YAMATO (Dragon Gate) & Tiger Mask. X pinned TM 4 after X Express.
Main Event: Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles beat Yuki Yoshioka (Dragon Gate) & KUSHIDA. Eagles pinned KUSHIDA after The Interceptor.
Standings (Block B):
1-Eagles/Fujita, 3-0, 6 pts
2-Yoshioka/KUSHIDA, 2-1, 4 pts
3-X/Ishimori, 2-1, 4 pts
4-Desperado/KUUKAI, 1-2, 2 pts (OUT)
5-Togo/Kanemaru, 1-2, 2 pts (OUT)
6-YAMATO/TM 4, 0-3, 0 pts (OUT)
Only the winners advance the Finals. The bottom 3 are out with the 1 win teams being eliminated due to tiebreakers. While X/Ishimori were hurt by a forfeit in the last match due to Ishimori being out, today’s win keeps them in contention but they could use help from YAMATO/TM 4, who can still play spoiler as they still have Eagles/Fujita to come. Basically the upcoming match next time between 2nd & 3rd place right now is an eliminator and, in worst-case, can end it all (draw or no contest and Eagles/Fujita win).
The next event is Tuesday at Sado City Gym, the second of a 3-event Niigata stretch, with Block A. Live streaming on New Japan World will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.
