Impact Wrestling runs their monthly PPV, Sacrifice, tonight and unfortunately it’s lived up to the name. In the last 12+ hours the event has been forced into major shakeups because Mickie James and Josh Alexander are both out due to injuries. It’s not known why James is out, Alexander is having surgery today to repair a torn triceps and because of that, the Impact World Championship is now VACANT. The two men Alexander was to have defended against over the next month, KUSHIDA and Steve Maclin, will now face each other at Rebellion in April for the vacant title. Maclin also replaces Alexander in a 6-man tag match tonight. James was to have defended the Impact Knockouts Championship against Jordynne Grace. More on the title’s future should be announced tonight. That has certainly put a damper on Impact’s return to Canada for most of the next month starting tonight.
Today’s event will be held at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and can be watched LIVE on Impact+ (subscription required-$7.99/month or $71.99/year), YouTube (Ultimate Insider subscription required-$4.99/month) and FITE ($9.99). If you buy the FITE version you get the live broadcast and unlimited on demand replays. There will also be a FREE pre-show 30 minutes before the PPV begins on Impact+ and YouTube. Excluding the pre-show this will be a standard monthly PPV and should run the normal time of about 3 hours. Due to work conflicts I will be unable to watch the pre-show live and may be a few minutes behind the live feed with results, especially at the beginning.

PPV:
Match 1: Mike Bailey vs. Jonathan Gresham
Result: Mike Bailey beat Jonathan Gresham by submission
Match 2: Impact Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry vs. Brian Myers for the title. It was mentioned at the start that Moose was banned from ringside
Result: Impact Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry beat Brian Myers to retain the title.
Update regarding the Knockouts Championship…Mickie James has a broken rib. Out at least a week or two including Multiverse United but hopes to defend at Rebellion. Santino Marella says if Mickie can compete at Rebellion, there will be a 3-way between her, Grace and the 4-way winner next week for the title. If not, the title will be vacated and a new champion crowned in a single match between Grace and that winner.
Match 3: Gisele Shaw vs. Deonna Purrazzo
Result: Deonna Purrazzo beat Gisele Shaw by submission. Afterwards, Savannah Evans began to beat down Purrazzo but Tasha Steelz returned to make the save. She teased re-forming her former partnership with Evans but cheap-elbowed Evans from behind then laid out Jai Vidal when he tried to get involved.
Match 4: Kenny King vs. PCO
Result: PCO beat Kenny King
Match 5: Impact X Division Champion Trey Miguel vs. Lince Dorado for the title
Result: Impact X Division Champion Trey Miguel beat Lince Dorado to retain the title.
(As of 9:45 PM ET I have caught up to the live broadcast so it’s all real-time LIVE the rest of the way starting here)
Match 6: Impact Tag Team Champions Ace Austin & Chris Bey vs. Shane Haste & Bad Dude Tito for the titles (Impact’s website incorrectly said Mikey Nicholls & Haste)
Result: Impact Tag Team Champions Ace Austin & Chris Bey beat Shane Haste & Bad Dude Tito to retain the titles. Austin pinned Tito after THE FOLD.
Match 7: Bully Ray vs. Tommy Dreamer in a Busted Open Match. Whoever gets “Busted Open” and bleeds first loses
Result: Bully Ray beat Tommy Dreamer. Bully actually was busted open first but due to a ref bump it wasn’t seen, allowing The Good Hands to interfere to help Bully. At one point early in the match Bully sprayed beer in the face of NHL icon Darren McCarty, who is in the front row. McCarty hockey fought Bully and got the better of it before The Good Hands broke it up. They helped Bully put McCarty through a table. This brought out NEW President of Impact Wrestling Scott D’Amore. With Rhino, Joe Hendry, Heath, Jonathan Gresham & Mike Bailey! Bully & Hands bailed. But Jason Hotch tried to sneak attack D’Amore from behind and…D’AMORE WITH CANADIAN DESTROYER! HOLY SHIT!
Main Event: Steve Maclin, Rich Swann & Frankie Kazarian vs. Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin & KUSHIDA
Result: Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin & KUSHIDA beat Steve Maclin, Rich Swann & Frankie Kazarian. KUSHIDA beat Maclin with Hoverboard Lock.
This was an excellent from start to finish despite all the turmoil of the last 24 hours. With perhaps the exception of the Busted Open Match if you don’t care about it, everything is definitely worth watching.
Overall show grade (excluding pre-show): A-
End Show.
