Obituary: Wrestler Jax Dane Dies

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) announced yesterday that wrestler Jax Dane died earlier this week. He was only 48. The reported cause of death was complications from a recent heart attack. In addition to the NWA, New Japan offered condolences on Dane’s death, noting he competed in the promotion between 2013-2015, making his first appearance on November 9, 2013 where he & Rob Conway beat Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima and Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. in a 3-way to win the NWA World Tag Team Championship for the first time. That’s quite a 3-way looking back given TenKoji are legendary as a team and individually (Kojima is still going strong well into his 50s and winning championships worldwide, Tenzan still competes occasionally but has slowed down a lot due to injuries), Archer has had success worldwide and now is a regular in All Elite Wrestling and Smith, the son of the legendary “British Bulldog” has made quite a name for himself in Japan and elsewhere and is now the All-Japan Triple Crown Champion. Dane also participated in the 2013 & 2014 World Tag League with Conway before becoming NWA World Heavyweight Champion when he claimed the “10 Pounds Of Gold” in August 2015.

I join New Japan, the NWA, their rosters, fans and others in sending my deepest condolences on the passing of Dane.
