The TNA Tag Team Championship is a tag team title in TNA Wrestling. Originally the promotion used the NWA World Tag Team Championship as a member of the NWA until 2007, then created their own title in May 2007 upon leaving the NWA and thus no longer having control of or being able to use the NWA titles. The TNA version was first awarded in May 2007 when Team 3D were named the first champions after being stripped of the NWA World Tag Team Championship due to TNA leaving the NWA.
As of 3/8/2024 there have been 69 TNA Tag Team Champions across the 5 different iterations of the championship. They are listed below in order of reign, which reign it was and length of reign. Note that some dates are when matches were taped for airing at a later date and not the date the matches aired on TV.
1-Team 3D (Bully Ray & Brother Devon). 1st reign. Length: 5/17/2007-7/15/2007. Named inaugural champions after stripped of NWA World Tag Team Championship on 5/13/2007 due to TNA leaving the NWA.
2-Samoa Joe. 1st reign. Length: 7/15/2007-8/12/2007. Teamed with Kurt Angle to win match in which the person to get the winning fall would win the title held by the loser. Joe won tag team titles as a result and chose to hold titles by himself.
3-Kurt Angle. 1st reign. Length: 8/12/2007-8/27/2007. Also won TNA X Division Championship in match, which was also for TNA World Heavyweight and IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
4-Kurt Angle & Sting. 1st reign. Length: 8/27/2007-9/9/2007. Sting won 4-way match on 8/27/2007 to become Angle’s partner and co-champion.
5-Adam Jones & Ron Killings. 1st reign. Length: 9/9/2007-10/14/2007.
6-AJ Styles & Tomko. 1st reign. Length: 10/14/2007-4/15/2008.
7-Kaz (Frankie Kazarian) & Eric Young/Super Eric. 1st reign. Length: 4/15/2008. Won titles in 3-way match. Stripped of titles immediately after Young refused to admit he was also Super Eric.
