The TNA X Championship, or X Division Championship, is a secondary singles championship in Impact/TNA Wrestling. Sometimes considered a Junior Heavyweight Championship, it is more about matches without limits than matches with weight limits, with matches featuring more high-risk action and specialty matches like Ultimate X, a take on a ladder match but without ladders. Another unique aspect of the title is the champion can invoke “Option C” at any time, voluntarily vacating the title for an Impact/TNA World Championship opportunity. The title was created in June 2002 as the NWA-TNA X Division Championship then soon became just the TNA X Division Championship. It is the oldest active championship in the promotion.
