Pro Wrestling NOAH made the likely final stop on the Akitoshi Saito retirement tour today in Osaka ahead of his retirement match next weekend.
Today’s event was held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. Originally scheduled for no live broadcast, it was changed to be live and immediate on demand rather than the normal 3-day wait.
The announced paid attendance was 614.
Before the event, a public weigh-in was held to determine the status of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match scheduled, as it was contingent on Shuhei Taniguchi making weight. Results weren’t announced but apparently he did.
Match 1: Masa Kitamiya, AMAKUSA & Black Menso-re (Independent/Freelancer) beat Anthony Greene, LJ Cleary & Yu Owada. Kitamiya pinned Owada after Saito Suplex. For those who missed it, Menso-re was actually Cristobal until a recent event where he was forced to unmask.
Match 2: Tadasuke & Yuto Kikuchi beat Junta Miyawaki & Daiki Odashima. Tadasuke pinned Odashima after Outcast.
Match 3: Kenoh, Alejandro & Kai Fujimura beat Mohammed Yone, Atsushi Kotoge & Hajime Ohara. Alejandro pinned Kotoge after Blank Bullet.
Match 4: Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf beat Jack Morris & Daga. Bane pinned Daga after a huracanrana.
Match 5: Ulka Sasaki beat Harutoki.
Match 6: GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions HAYATA & YO-HEY beat Shuhei Taniguchi & Eita to retain the titles. HAYATA pinned Taniguchi with a schoolboy. V3 for the champs.
Match 7: Kaito Kiyomiya & Naomichi Marufuji beat Takashi Sugiura & Akitoshi Saito. Kiyomiya pinned Saito after Transformed Shining Wizard.
Main Event: GHC National Champion Manabu Soya beat Go Shiozaki to retain the title. V2 for Soya.
The next event is MONDAY MAGIC Season 3 Episode 3 Monday at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. The match card will not be announced in advance as usual except for a 10 woman battle royal to crown the first GHC Women’s Champion. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET.
