Pro Wrestling NOAH 5/2/2026 Results

SPRING MAYHEM RYOGOKU 20026, Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Golden Week blowout event, is in the books.

Today’s event was held at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese. Keiji Muto & Shinjiro Otani joined Akitoshi Saito as guest former wrestlers on commentary.

The announced paid attendance was 4539. They did not use the full capacity (particularly in the lower level box seats that can seat 4-6 for sumo) so it was not setup for the normal maximum of 15,000. So this number is not as bad as it sounds.

The match order was not announced until event time, in part due to fan voting for the main event.

Pre-show:
Match 1: Atsushi Kotoge, Hi69 & Hajime Ohara beat Yuto Koyanagi, Hiroto Tsuruya & Midori Takahashi. Kotoge beat Takahashi with a Texas cloverleaf.
Match 2: Eita beat Katsumi Inahata.

Match 8: Dragon Bane beat GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion AMAKUSA to win the title. Bane becomes the 61st GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion. Next up: Eita. That match will happen on 6/20 at Agematsu Town Community Center in Nagano at the Eita 15th Anniversary Event.

Main Event: Shane Haste beat GHC Heavyweight Champion Yoshiki Inamura to win the title. Haste becomes the 50th GHC Heavyweight Champion. UPSET ALERT!!! Whoa. Seriously. Never saw this coming! But it could be a short reign. Next up: KENTA. That match will happen on 5/13 at Korakuen Hall. As for Inamura, he could get back in the picture quickly on 5/13 but he’ll have to get through old-new nemesis OZAWA first.

More news/fallout presumably to come.

The next event is AFTER MAYHEM 2026 tomorrow at Shinjuku Face. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

Also an important note for Tuesday’s (Monday US time) Korakuen Hall event-the match card will not be announced in advance. That event is an ABEMA exclusive broadcast in Japan but will be available outside Japan on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English only.

BREAKING: More Former Japan Wrestlers Released By WWE

This could be potential good news for New Japan…it is being reported on various US news/rumor websites that more WWE releases came today and two former New Japan wrestlers are among them-JC Mateo fka Jeff Cobb and Tonga Loa aka Tanga Loa. It’s not yet clear why they are gone but this is possibly by mutual decision. Both left New Japan in 2024 following fellow NJPW departure Tama Tonga (Loa’s real-life brother, they are both sons of Hall of Famer Haku and members of the Tongan/Samoan wrestling dynasties) to WWE and both were briefly in storylines involving top WWE wrestler Roman Reigns. Loa also missed the first half of 2025 due to injury. Mateo/Cobb was there for barely a year, debuting last July and took part in a WWE Tag Team Championship match just last month on the SmackDown TV program but did little else.

I can see both going back to Japan even though they are in their 40s if All Elite Wrestling or TNA Wrestling doesn’t try to pick them up. It’s probably too late for them to make surprise appearances at WRESTLING DONTAKU 2026 though.

More as it becomes available.

She will continue selling merchandise and has also started an OnlyFans (quite a few Japanese female wrestlers have them, some post sexy photos/videos but not porn/sexually explicit, Saki Akai primarily uses hers to post diary/blog-like content) as ways to help raise funds to go towards medical ezpenses/support.

UPDATE: Manase posted a further update today (4/30) after another medical exam. Uterine fibroid. Additional surgery needed. Best wishes to Manase for a full and speedy recovery.

Today’s event was held at Itabashi Green Hall in Tokyo and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Saturday. There was no live broadcast.
