BREAKING: Obituary-Joe Doering Dies (Updated)

Some sad news just coming out to pass along-Joe Doering, who competed in All-Japan in the 2010s and was a 2-time Triple Crown Champion, has died after a valiant battle with brain cancer. He was only 44. The announcement came from Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling and its owner, former TNA Wrestling President Scott D’Amore. Doering had reportedly just entered hospice care earlier this week.

A giant by Japanese wrestling standards at 6’8”, 275 lbs, Doering became the 50th All-Japan Triple Crown Champion in 2014, making 3 successful defenses in his first reign that lasted just over 5 months. He would win the Triple Crown back in October 2017 and become the 59th Champion, again making 3 successful defenses in a reign that lasted 5 months. He was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016 and made his final in-ring appearance in 2022 for TNA.

He definitely was one of the most successful big man foreigners in Japan this century and was loved by the Japanese fans as well. I join the wrestling world in sending deepest condolences on the loss of another brother, taken from us way too soon.

RIP and GOD BLESS, Joe.

UPDATE: All-Japan has now posted a statement on their official website:

All-Japan 6/24/2026 Results (Updated x2)

All-Japan wrapped up their June schedule today with an event in Tokyo before their early summer break.

Today’s event was held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV.

The announced paid attendance was 340, a legit advance sellout.

Match 1: Hideki Suzuki beat Seigo Tachibana by submission.

Match 2: Naruki Doi (Independent/Freelancer) & Senor Saito beat Hokuto Omori & Dan Tamura. Doi pinned Tamura with V9 Clutch.

Match 3: Rising Hayato & Seiki Yoshioka beat Atsuki Aoyagi & MUSASHI. Yoshioka pinned MUSASHI after Crash Driver.

Match 5: Go Shiozaki, Jun Saito & Ren Ayabe beat Kento Miyahara, Ryuki Honda & Kumaarashi. Ayabe pinned Miyahara after Iron Maiden. (On a side note, it was revealed on social media yesterday that Talos has left the promotion for now, it was time for him to return to the US for the time being. Hopefully he’ll be back later this year-this is like how Odyssey also has to return home to the US every so often due to non-visa stay restrictions in Japan. I think there is a 90-day time limit each time)

Main Event: Yuma Anzai & Shota Kofuji beat Yuma Aoyagi & Yasutaka Yano. Kofuji pinned Yano after Styles Clash. As a result, Anzai & Kofuji will be the next challengers for the All-Asia Tag Team Championship. That match will happen on 7/19 at Korakuen Hall.

The next event is 7/11 at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama. Broadcast plans TBA. (The July streaming schedule has not been announced)

UPDATE: After the main event, Ayabe issued a Triple Crown challenge to Miyahara. More to come, possibly tomorrow. Also anticipate a Doi challenge for the All-Japan World Junior Heavyweight Championship too. (UPDATE: Looks like the latter may happen on 7/25 in Kobe)

UPDATE 2: It’s now official. Also announced is an All-Japan AJPW.TV 6-Man Tag Team Championship match for 7/26, which will be Ryuki Honda, Kumaarashi & Seigo Tachibana defending the titles against Yuma & Atsuki Aoyagi & Yasutaka Yano.

All-Japan News: Next Jr. Heavyweight Tournament Set

While I wait for full results from today’s All-Japan event (some quick highlights are up on social media, there were some title changes), they did announce another tournament today (there was one earlier in the week called the 13th Classic, which I’m not familiar with unless it’s what was Royal Road before). The Zennichi Jr. Festival will return in August-this will be a Junior Heavyweight tournament with 12 participants in a 2 block round-robin format. Schedule was announced today with participants scheduled to be revealed in a month.

More from today as it becomes available.

All-Japan News: NWA Championship Match Confirmed

All-Japan had previously announced an NWA World Heavyweight Championship match would take place at the 6/18/2026 event at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. With the latest NWA live events (and perhaps TV tapings to take them to their annual biggest event in late July) this weekend in the books, that match is now official. It will be current champion Silas Mason defending the 10 Pounds Of Gold (as they call the NWA World Heavyweight Championship) against Shotaro Ashino. If Ashino somehow wins the title, presumably he would defend in the US at NWA 78 on 7/25 in Philadelphia, PA.

Main Event: Jun & Rei Saito beat All-Japan World Tag Team Champions Ren Ayabe & Talos to win the titles. The Saitos become the 104th All-Japan World Tag Team Champions. Rei Saito pinned Ayabe. It was a heck of a run for Titans Of Calamity, which even saw them head to the US and win the 2026 NWA Crockett Cup Tournament, but now that the Saitos are back and at full strength, only one outcome could be…DOOM!!!

Today’s event was held at Yamagata Big Wing in Yamagata and can be watched on demand on AJPW.TV. There was no live broadcast but on demand is already available.

Injury Report: Being Hardcore Really Is Painful

Hikaru Sato may still be hardcore, indicated by his winning the GHC Hardcore Championship in Pro Wrestling NOAH Monday, but that doesn’t mean the former MMA fighter is immune to pain and it’s caused All-Japan some issues as they announced Sato is out of action. Unspecified injury. Out at least 2 weeks and the entire Super Power Series 2026 Tour. Card changes have been announced. It’s not yet known if this will affect the 6/15 NOAH event where Sato is to defend the title in a 3-way.
