BREAKING: Wrestler Pac Dies (Updated x2)

Very sad developing story-Ben Satterley, best known to wrestling fans worldwide as Pac, has died. He was only 40. No details regarding circumstances are known at this time but he just competed for All Elite Wrestling last night.

Before jumping to WWE as Adrian Neville in 2012 then to AEW in 2019, Pac started out in his native England but made a name for himself in Japan over several years in Dragon Gate, thriving in the promotion’s Junior Heavyweight-oriented style with death-defying acrobatics & physicality, where he still holds the record for longest Open The Brave Gate Championship reign at almost 15 months and held the successful defense record with 11 until it was broken recently by Ryoya Tanaka. He also was a former Open The Dream Gate Champion, Open The Twin Gate Champion and Open The Triangle Gate Champion, making him one of the few wrestlers to hold every title in the promotion.

More as it becomes available. Until then, I join fans worldwide in sending my deepest condolences and mourning the loss of another brother taken from us way too soon. RIP and GOD BLESS, Pac.

UPDATE: As tributes continue to pour in, New Japan posted an article remembering Pac. He competed in the 2012 Best Of The Super Junior Tournament, reaching the Semifinals, and just this past June he challenged Shota Umino for the IWGP Global Championship.

UPDATE 2: A few details about his death were just revealed. He was reportedly found passed out inside a car outside an Illinois restaurant, and per the Cook County (Illinois) Medical Examiner’s office there were no indications of foul play or trauma and his death does not appear to be suspicious. An autopsy has reportedly been performed but results may take several weeks.

Dragon Gate ran a special standalone event today, TOHOKU DRAGONGATEWAY 2026, in Sendai.

Match 2: Strong Machine J & U-T beat Lucky Oshima & Tsuguchi Big Circus. J pinned both after a senton.

Match 3: KAI, ISHIN & Jason Lee beat Susumu Yokosuka, KAGETORA & Ho Ho Lun. ISHIN pinned Lun.

Match 4: Ryoya Tanaka, Homare & Kazuma Kimura beat Hyo, JACKY KAMEI & Mochizuki Junior and El Cielo, Luis Mante & Sangre Azteca Jr. (Michinoku Pro) in a 3-way when Homare pinned Junior.

Match 5: Ryu Fuda beat Open The Brave Gate Champion Dragon Kid to win the title. But because of ISHIN interference contributing to the title change, it will not be recognized and the title is now HELD UP. (Another way of saying it is now VACANT),

Main Event: Kzy & YAMATO beat Madoka Kikuta & Yoshiki Kato. Kzy pinned Kato after a running elbow smash.

Dragon Gate 9/12/2026 Results

Dragon Gate returned to Tokyo today for TOKIO INFINITY hPa 2026, a special standalone event.

Today’s event was held at Ebara Wave Arena Ota/Ota City General Gym in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK.

Match 7: Dragon Kid beat Open The Brave Gate Champion Ryoya Tanaka to win the title. Kid becomes the 56th Open The Brave Gate Champion. The unthinkable…it’s all over for Tanaka. He falls just days short of the all-time longest reign at 14 months. He needed about 20 more days for the record. But he still has the all-time defense record with 12.

Main Event: Open The Dream Gate Champion Kzy beat YAMATO to retain the title. V1 for Kzy.

Dragon Gate wrapped up the Rey De Parejas 2026 Tournament today in Tokyo.

Match 1: Rey De Parejas Semifinals: El Cielo & Luis Mante beat Susumu Yokosuka & KAGETORA. Mante pinned Yokosuka after Super Tigre.

Match 2: Rey De Parejas Semifinals: Yuki Yoshioka & Kota Minoura beat ISHIN & Yoshiki Kato. Minoura pinned ISHIN.

Match 3: Don Fujii, Toru Owashi & Punch Tomonaga beat Ultimo Dragon, Masaaki Mochizuki & Jiro Shinbashi. Shinbashi got scared of a Fujii piledriver and quit.

Match 4: Genki Horiguchi, Yasushi Kanda & Keni’chiro Arai beat Madoka Kikuta, KAI & Jason Lee. Horiguchi pinned KAI with Backslide From Heaven.

Match 5: YAMATO vs. Hidetaka Monma went to a 10 minute time limit draw.

Match 6: Hyo, JACKY KAMEI, Riiita, Mochizuki Junior & Gianni Valletta beat Kzy, Strong Machine J, U-T, GuC & Flamita. Valletta pinned U-T after a King Kong kneedrop. At least today Valletta was part of Love&Peace. I hope this is not a regular thing. He has to be a monster heel like he has been.

Match 7: Dragon Kid, BxB Hulk & Naruki Doi (Independent/Freelancer) beat Ryoya Tanaka, Homare & Kazuma Kimura. Kid pinned Tanaka after Ultra Huracanrana.

Main Event: Rey De Parejas Finals: El Cielo & Luis Mante beat Yuki Yoshioka & Kota Minoura to win the tournament. Cielo pinned Yoshioka after a spinning tombstone piledriver. As a result, Cielo & Mante will likely get an Open The Twin Gate Championship shot in the future.

The next event is Saturday at Hills Sunpia Yamagata in Yamagata to start the Storm Gate 2026 Tour (the September tour). There will be no live or on demand broadcast. Only 3 more broadcasts are scheduled this month out of roughly 12 events.

UPDATE: One title match has been announced coning out of today…just not the expected one. Open The Owarai Gate Champion Sakura Hirota vs. Jiro Shinbashi for the title has been announced for 10/2. Comedy title match.

UPDATE 2: Cielo & Mante will get their Twin Gate shot on 9/12 at Ebara Wave Arena Ota/Ota City General Gym.

Dragon Gate 8/18/2026 Results

Dragon Gate ran their latest episode of PRIME ZONE+ yesterday, with one of the referees serving as episode GM.

Yesterday’s event was held at Kobe Lapis Hall in Kobe and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK.

The announced paid attendance was 68.

Match 1: Kzy & U-T beat Lucky Oshima & Tsujidai Circus (a pair of clowns). Kzy beat both simultaneously with a ground cobra twist.

Match 2: Homare won a 7 man battle royal, last eliminating Ryoya Tanaka.

Match 3: JACKY KAMEI beat SUN Florida.

Dragon Gate kicked off the annual Rey De Parejas tournament (a round-robin format tag team event) today with their monthly Tokyo event, which also was the final event for Shun Skywalker in the promotion. He’a not retiring but it’s unclear what future plans are.

UPDATE: The next challenger for Open The Brave Gate Champion Ryoya Tanaka was decided today…Ryu Fuda made the challenge but…OVERRULED!!! It was decided that Dragon Kid is next. That match will happen on 9/12 at Ebara Wave Arena Ota (Ota City General Gym). If Tanaka retains, he will be about 2 weeks away from passing Pac for longest title reign to date and it will be a new record 13th defense.

UPDATE 2: The first challenger for Open The Dream Gate Kzy has also been announced: YAMATO. That match will happen on 9/12.

Dragon Gate News: First Rey De Parejas Teams Announced (Updated)

One of the big items coning out of Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival yesterday was upcoming announcements about Dragon Gate’s Rey De Parejas, their annual tag team tournament in August. It will be a round-robin format with 2 blocks, and the first 2 teams were announced today:

Block A: Strong Machine J & LEONA (Dradition)

Block B: Yuki Yoshioka & Kota Minoura

More to come in the coming days/weeks.

Dragon Gate 7/20/2026 Results

Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival 2026, Dragon Gate’s biggest event of the year, is now in the books.

Today’s event was held at Kobe World Hall in Kobe and can be watched on demand on DRAGONGATE NETWORK. This was also a live GAORA SPORTS broadcast in Japan. You can also watch the first match FOR FREE on YouTube.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced but it was a legit sellout. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 3980. That’s less than half capacity but they did have a somewhat large setup)

Pre-show match: Ho Ho Lun, Punch Tomonaga & Tristan Moody beat Shachihoko BOY. Takashi & Problem Dragon. Lun pinned Dragon with Ho Roll.

Match 1: Mochizuki Junior & Kazuma Kimura beat Ryu Fuda & @KEY. Junior pinned Fuda with a German suplex hold.

Match 4: Shun Skywalker, Gianni Valetta & El Cielo beat Flamita, Luis Mante & Dragon Bane (Pro Wrestling NOAH) and KAI, Jason Lee & Alpha Wolf (Pro Wrestling NOAH) in a 3-way when Skywalker pinned Lee.

Match 5: YAMATO 20th Anniversary Match: YAMATO, KAGETORA, BxB Hulk, Dragon Kid, Susumu Yokosuka & Naruki Doi (Independent/Freelancer) beat Uktimo Dragon, Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii, Genki Horiguchi, Yasushi Kanda & Keni’chiro Arai. YAMATO pinned Horiguchi after Gallaria.

Match 6: Open The Twin Gate Champions Yoshiki Kato & ISHIN beat Yuki Yoshioka & Kota Minoura to retain the titles. Kato pinned Yoshioka. V1 for the champs. On a related note, Yoshioka & Minoura are now a new faction known as XenisS (pronounced “Zenith”).

Match 7: Open The Brave Gate Champion Ryoya Tanaka beat Homare to retain the title. V12(!) for Tanaka. NEW RECORD!!! How many more can he get in his first reign? And who if anyone can stop him? (He does mot yet have the longest reign though. About 3 months to go to take that record from Pac)

Main Event: Kzy beat Open The Dream Gate Champion Madoka Kikuta to win the title. Kzy becomes the 43rd Open The Dream Gate Champion. The last piece of his missing career puzzle in the promotion is missing no longer. Kzy has now won all 4 of the Dragon Gate Championships. Now just a month after turning 40 and approaching his 20th Anniversary in the ring, he is the top dog and, undoubtedly, channeled those Natural Vibes afterwards to send the crowd home very happy because it’s time…it’s KZ Time!

The next event is Saturday at Suzuka Civic Hall in Mie. There will be no live or on demand broadcast.

Dragon Gate 7/13/2026 Results

Dragon Gate said their final farewell to Shinjuku Face today with their last event as the closing Tokyo venue.

Match 3: GuC won a 10 man battle royal, last eliminating Mochizuki Junior.

Match 4: Punch Tominaga 15th anniversary Match: Kendo Ka Shin & Masaaki Movhizuki beat YAMATO & Punch Tominaga. Ka Shin beat Tominaga.

Match 5: Yuki Yoshioka & Kota Minoura beat Susumu Yokosuka & KAGETORA. Minoura pinned KAGETORA after Endgame.

Main Event: Shun Skywalker, Dragon Kid, Strong Machine J, Flamita & Diamante (Luis Mante, back in his old masked persona for one day only) beat Madoka Kikuta, KAI, ISHIN, Jason Lee & Yoshiki Kato. Slywalker pinned Lee after SSW.

Injury Report: Neglecting The Shiko?

It’s well-known that Dragon Gate wrestler Don Fujii was a sumo wrestler before turning to pro wrestling-and if you didn’t know, look up the Otake Beya YouTube channel and watch videos they posted earlier this year when they hosted Fujii and other wrestlers. Shiko (foot stomping) is an essential sumo exercise and I thought he was letting up because the promotion has announced he is injured. Knee, possibly aggravated a prior injury. Out indefinitely but at least tomorrow. Card changes have already been made-he was to have teamed with Homare, Ho Ho Lun & Tristan Moody to face Ryoya Tanaka, Genki Horiguchi, KAGETORA & Problem Dragon. They’ve essentially re-done almost the entire card as a result. It’s not yet known how long Fujii may be out but he was not scheduled for the next 2 events afterwards on Sunday and Monday (the latter being their final Shinjuku Face event). He is scheduled for Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival on 7/20 so wait and see there.
