Dragon Gate has posted an update on the Open The Brave Gate Championship, which was held up last month after Ryu Fuda beat Dragon Kid to win the title but the title change was not recognized due to ISHIN interference. Kid has been named Interim Champion and a tournament will be held to crown a new champion. It’ll be a single-elimination bracket event with qualifying wrestlers from each faction, meaning weighing 82 kg or less, and that means first on 10/18 (doubleheader at Acros Fukuoka) will be matches of Homare vs. KAGETORA and JACKY KAMEI vs. GuC. The winners will meet on 10/24 at Kyoto KBS Hall and that winner will face Kid on 11/5 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo for the title. You’re maybe thinking what I’m thinking-no Ryoya Tanaka? I guess his new faction wasn’t considered.
