DDT began their October schedule with a hybrid theater/wrestling comedy event in Tokyo called “MUSCLE&”.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.
The paid attendance was not announced.
There were last minute changes to the event due to Kaisei Takechi being pulled off the event. The always vague poor health. Kazuki Hirata was the replacement.
This started as what was supposed to be a 2.5 hour training course, under the “tutelage” of former wrestler Meiko Satomura, now President of Sendai Girls (she also is a co-founder of the promotion). The “students” were KANON, Takeshi Masada, Hirata (as Kaisei Takechi) & Illusion.
For the first course, Yuki Ueno was the instructor. This was about being a villain/heel.
The next course featured Viento Levante, To-y and Yuni with the instructor being a big surprise-El Desperado (New Japan). Everyone then beat down Desperado and tried to unmask him but Satomura made the save. Which led to…
Match 1: Yuni beat Yuki Ishida.
Match 2: To-y & Illusion beat Yuya Koroku & Masami Inahata. To-y pinned Inahata.
Match 3: El Desperado & Viento Levante beat Yuki Ueno & Kazuma Sumi. Levante pinned Sumi.
Match 4: KANON vs. Daichi Sato went to a 10 minute time limit draw.
Main Event: Hideki Okatani & “Kaisei Takechi” (Kazuki Hirata) beat Takeshi Masada & Hinata Kasai. Okatani pinned Kasai after a vertical drop brainbuster.
Afterwards the class concluded with a surprise reward for the top 3 students…a KO-D Openweight Championship shot RIGHT NOW!!! Which led to…
Impromptu Match: KO-D Openweight Champion MAO beat Takeshi Masada, Viento Levante & Hinata Kasai in a 4-way elimination match, last eliminating Levante by KO, to retain the title. V5 for MAO. Order of elimination: Kasai by Masada, Masada by MAO, Levante by MAO. And that was the event.
The next event is Sunday at Higashiyodogawa Ward Civic Hall in Osaka, which will also feature a match of Uuki Ueno vs. Masami Inahata to crown a new DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion following it being vacated by prior champion Shinjuku Face after it’s closing today. There will be no live broadcast. On demand Tuesday.
