Stardom returned to Tochigi today for the annual Stardom Sisters hometown event, shining the spotlight on the real-life sister trio of Hanan, Hina & Rina.
Today’s event was held at Light Cube Utsunomiya in Tochigi and can be watched on demand on Stardom World. You can also watch the first 3 matches FOR FREE on YouTube.
The announced paid attendance was 792, a full house/near sellout.
There was a last-minute change to the card due to Natsuko Tora being pulled off the event. The always vague poor health. Replacement was TBA at match time.
Match 1: Yuria Hime Return Match: Saya Kamitani & Ruaka beat Saya Iida & Yuria Hime. Kamitani pinned Hime after Star Crusher.
Match 2: Syuri beat Matoi Hamabe.
Match 3: Konami, Azusa Inaba & TBA-the Natsuko Tora replacement, revealed at match time to be Suzu Suzuki, beat Ami Sohrei, Lady C & Ranna Yagami. Inaba pinned Yagami.
Match 4: Maika & HANAKO beat Natsupoi & Saori Anou and Maki Itoh & Kiyoka Kokatsu in a 3-way when Maika pinned Kokatsu.
Match 5: Aya Sakura & Yuna Mizumori beat Kikyo Furusawa & Rian. Sakura pinned Furusawa with a German suplex hold.
Match 6: Suzu Suzuki, Rina Yamashita, Itsuki Aoki & Akira Kurogame beat Starlight Kid, Hazuki, Koguma & Fuwa-chan. Suzuki pinned Kid after Tequila Shot. This was the second match of the day for Suzuki.
Match 7: Rina beat Utami Hayashishita. Afterwards, Rina promo noted this was one of the things she “foretold” after winning the 5STAR GP. But STILL no hints as to when she’ll take the title shot prize.
Main Event: Wonder Of Stardom Champion Hanan beat Hina to retain the title. V5 for Hanan. Once again big sister triumphs over little sister. If you look at championships and major accolades, despite being the middle sister Hina has clearly been left behind and not had nearly the success that Hanan & Rina have experienced to date, with Hanan clearly being a cornerstone of Stardom’s future and Rina becoming the youngest 5STAR GP winner yet and the greatest Future Of Stardom Champion to date (but Ranna Yagami is making a serious run at the latter) while, outside of some tag team/trios success Hina has accomplished very little to nothing and has struggled greatly against her big sister & little sister. Hopefully soon the breakthrough will come.
The next event is Tuesday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo with a New Blood Tag Team Championship match that also is the return of Sayaka Kurara from injury. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.
