DDT kicked off their 2025 campaign today with their first monthly signature event of the year, New Year Dramatic Parade 2025.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.
The paid attendance has not been announced.
There was a last-minute change to match 4 due to Takeshi Masada being off the event (possible fever). Hikaru Sato was the replacement.
Match 1: To-y, Akito & Takao Soma beat Toru Owashi, Super Sasadango Machine & Tomomitsu Matsunaga. To-y pinned Matsunaga after Kojima Impact. Afterwards, Sanshiro Takagi appeared to present To-y with a New Year’s gift, but it was only 10,000 Japanese yen (around $65 US). Owashi then tried but failed to win the DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Championship from Takagi.
NwA Jr. (Shuma Katsumata, Yuni, Kazuma Sumi) performed live in the ring.
Match 2; Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul, Demus & Illusion beat Yuni, Kazuma Sumi, Daichi Sato & Yuki Ishida. Illusion pinned Ishida after a swanton bomb.
Match 3: BZW Tag Team Champions MAO & Yoshihiko beat Antonio Honda & Kazuki Hirata to retain the titles. Yoshihiko pinned Hirata with Arc de Triomphe Hold. V1 for the champs.
Match 4: Chris Brookes, Masa Takanashi & Hikaru Sato (All-Japan) beat Shinya Aoki, Yuki Ueno & Keigo Nakamura. Brookes beat Nakamura with a ground octopus stretch.
Match 5: Tetsuya Endo beat Yuya Koroku. This may be Endo’s final DDT match for now as he is headed to Pro Wrestling NOAH indefinitely.
Match 6; Konosuke Takeshita & Jun Akiyama beat Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya. Takeshita pinned Iino after Raging Fire.
Main Event: Shuji Ishikawa beat Danshoku Dieno, HARASHIMA & KANON in a 4-way by pinning KANON. As a result, Ishikawa gets the next KO-D Openweight Championship shot. That match will happen on 1/26.
The next event is Sunday at Itabashi Green Hall in Tokyo. The card will not be announced in advance. There will be no live broadcast.
UPDATE: A late unexpected development after the event…
Chris Harrington (All Elite Wrestling) beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Sanshiro Takagi to win the title. Harrington becomes the 1705th Champion.
