DDT held a special “Meet & Greet & Fight” event today with only 3 matches, but each one awarded “Money In The Bank” style title shots to the victors.
Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.
The announced paid attendance was 295.
Match 1; Kazuma Sumi beat Yuni & Illusion in a 3-way by pinning Yuni. As a result, Sumi earns a title shot of his choice anytime, anywhere. He almost used it immediately before GM Imabayashi talked him out of it.
Match 2; KANON beat Yukio Naya. As a result, KANON earns same title shot contract.
Main Event: In an 18 man battle royal where the last 3 left won and earned the title shots, the winners were HARASHIMA, Keigo Nakamura and (oh dear) Antonio Honda.
The next event is 8/10 at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka, which will have an “East vs. West” theme to all matches including at least 2 title matches. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET.
