Footage from Gut Check 2023 held during the UK Invasion Tour. The winners-Mike D (men) & Harley Hudson (women) get to go to Canada and train at the Can-Am Dojo with a chance to eventually earn an Impact Wrestling contract.
Match 6: Frankie Kazarian & Chris Sabin vs. Moose & Brian Myers
Result: Moose & Brian Myers beat Frankie Kazarian & Chris Sabin. Moose pinned Kazarian after a spear.
Match 7: Impact Knockouts Champion Trinity vs. Deonna Purrazzo for the title. Gail Kim is special guest referee. If Purrazzo loses, no more title shots for her as long as Trinity is champion
Result: Impact Knockouts Champion Trinity beat Deonna Purrazzo by submission to retain the title. No more chances for Purrazzo as long as Trinity is champion. Afterwards, Purrazzo ambushed Trinity from behind and b*tch slapped Kim, but Kim came back with Eat Defeat to send Purrazzo packing. (There are rumors Purrazzo is about to be a free agent with her contract expiring so the question is whether or not she will be back after a while like Jordynne Grace did)
Main Event: Will Ospreay vs. Eddie Edwards
Result: Will Ospreay beat Eddie Edwards
Ospreay post-match promo. He has a “huge announcement” to make in response to fan questions first…he fixed his kitchen. HA! That joke aside, he put Impact/TNA over and sent the crowd home happy.
While the matches were solid as always, the video quality of this event was not as good as usual, in particular with the ringside cameras. No issues with the hard camera but the ringside cameras were like the ones New Japan has used recently as US events, not high-quality. The sound quality/level was off a little for the main show after the pre-show. Those took a bit away from the experience for me. Main show was a little shorter than usual, including the show-ending promo it was only 2 hours 40 minutes. If the gripes about video quality don’t bother you, it’s another great show and as usual the Europe crowd was hot all event. Europe fans are always hot even if you don’t get their constant singing like they do at soccer matches.
End Show.
