Kazuma Sumi beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Yuni to win the title. Sumi becomes the 1739th Champion.

Yuni beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Kazuma Sumi to win the title. Yuni becomes the 1740th Champion.
And right after that…
Shunma Katsumata beat DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion Yuno to win the title. Katsumata becomes the 1741st Champion.

Match 3: HARASHIMA & Yukio Naya beat Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida. Naya pinned Ishida after a chokeslam.

The next event is Sunday at Korakuen Hall with Chris Brookes vs. Koroku for the KO-D Openweight Championship, a KO-D Tag Team Championship match and the return of Naomi Yoshimura after 2 1/2 years out due to injuries. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese will begin Saturday at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET and likely will include a pre-show match scheduled for 7:10 PM PT/10:10 PM ET. DDT 4/1/25 Results

DDT ran their third Spoiler Free Wrestling event today, where fans and basically everyone was prohibited from posting online or on social media about the event-anything related to it-until midnight after the event ended.

Today’s event was held at Ueno Park Outdoor Stage in Tokyo and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

Match 1; Shunma Katsumata, MAO & Makoto Oishi beat DDT Iron Man Heaymetalweoght Champion Shunma Katsumata, Yuni & Kazuma Suni, with Yuni pinning Katsumata to win the title. Yuni becomes the 1738th Champion.

Matxh 2: The results of a Secret Accomplice Match were not announced.

Match 3: Kazuki Hirata beat Yuya Koroku.

Match 4: In a Baseball Knuckle Match, where the loser of rock-paper-scissors games at specific intervals had to remove a piece of clothing and the first to remove a specified number of clothes loses, Danshoku Dieno beat To-y.

Match 5: Stone Cold Steve Ochinochin Jr. wen a 12 man battle royal, last eliminating Stone Cold Steve Ochinochin. All participants were parodies of former wrestling legends, mostly from WWF/E.

DDT 3/30/25 Results

DDT ran their first-ever Wedding Pro Wrestling event today in Gifu, having been previously postponed after being scheduled for last summer due to weather (impending hurricane) but today they had perfect conditions. And yes, there was an actual wedding.

Today’s event was held at Centil Le Saison in Gifu and the first part of the event will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE Wednesday. There was no live broadcast.

Match 1; Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & Illusion beat JJ Fano, Yuni & Keigo Nakamura. Sasaki pinned Yuni after Vietnam Driver 2.

Match 2: Yuya Koroku beat Keigo Nakamura.

Match 3: MAO, Jun Akiyama & Yukio Naya beat Kazusada Higuchi, Toru Owashi & Kazume Sumi. MAO pinned Sumi after Iai Kick.

They moved inside afterwards for the wedding and, at the reception, a special match.
Result: In a Falls Count Anywhere match, HARASHIMA & Akito beat Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata. HARASHIMA pinned Hirata after Blue Sword.

DDT 3/29/25 Results

DDT ran an event in Nagoya today in between Tokyo Joshi Pro’s events there this weekend.

Today’s event was held at Chunichi Hall in Nagoya and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

Match 1: Yukio Naya beat Yuki Ishida & JJ Fano in a 3-way by pinning Ishida.

Match 2: Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & Illusion beat Toru Owashi, Yasu Urano & Yuni. Illusion pinned Yuni after a swanton bomb.

Match 3: Jun Akiyama beat Antonio Honda.

Match 4: Yuya Koroku & Kazusada Higuchi beat Chris Brookes & Kazuma Sumi. Koroku pinned Yuni after a transformed sky twister press.

Match 5: Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura beat Minoru Suzuki & Akito. Nakamura pinned Akito.

Main Event: Yuki ueno, MAO, Shunma Katsumata & To-y beat HARASHIMA, Danshoku Dieno, Kazuki Hirata & Takeshi Masada. MAO pinned Hirata after Our Madmax. Afterwards, as he had previously announced he would do after this match, MAO left The37Kamiina to be on his own.

Match 1: In a Scramble Pie Bunkhouse Street Fight, where the first wrestler to throw a pie at an opponent won, MJ Paul & Illusion beat Kazuma Sumi & Tomomitsu Matsunaga and Makoto Oishi & Akito in a 3-way when Illusion threw a pie at Sumi.

Match 2: Kazusada Higuchi, Yuki Ueno & Shunma Katsumata beat Takao Soma, Yukio Naya & Yuki Ishida. Katsumata pinned Ishida after an airplane spin Death Valley Bomb.

Match 3: In a 5000 Yen Pocketbook Deathmatch, where apparently you had to hit a move onto a pocketbook to win, Takeshi Masada & Keigo Nakamura beat Yuni & Munetatsu Nakamura.

Match 5: MAO beat Daisuke Sasaki to become King Of Drunk.

There were several changes to the card due to the last-second removal of Kazuma Sumi. The always-vague poor health.

Match 1: Shishamo Power beat Yuni.

Match 2: MJ Paul & Illusion beat Takeshi Masada & JJ Fano. Paul pinned Fano after a reverse splash.

Match 3: Kazuki Hirata won a Falls Count Anywhere Blindfold Bunkhouse Scramble Elimination Match, last eliminating Antonio Honda. Order of elimination: HARASHIMA DQ’d, Chris Brookes DQ’d, Danshoku Dieno DQ’d, Honda by Hirata.

Match 4: Jun Akiyama & Yuya Koroku beat Takuya Nomura & Tomomitsu Matsubaga. Koroku pinned Matsunaga after Transformed Triangle Lancer.

Match 5: In a Cherry Blossom Viewing King Of Drunk Qualifying Battle Royal, the “winners” as the last 2 left were Daisuke Sasaki & MAO. Order of elimination: Kazusada Hoguchi DQ’d, Takao Soma DQ’d, Yukio Naya DQ’d, Shunma Katsumata by Sasaki, Yuki Ueno by Sasaki, Yuki Ishida by Sasaki.

Injury Report: The To-y Is Still Broken

Injuries are piling up again for DDT despite some pending returns (Kazusada Higuchi is back after an extended absence and Naomi Yoshimura returns in April after being out over 2 1/2 years), an update came out today not for the serious injury to Masa Takanashi (a big focus among the roster at yesterday’s event as many post-match promos/comments focused on him) but to the also-injured To-y. Unspecified injury which kept him out last week, still don’t know what it is but he is now out at least another week, That means he is now off Wednesday & Thursday. Several changes have been made to both events.

DDT 3/20/25 Results (Updated x3)

DDT held their 28th Anniversary event today, another 5 hour extravaganza that ended on a very bad note, more on that later.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The paid attendance was not announced but looks like close to a sellout based on a photo Saki Akai posted on social media.

Match 1: Shunma Katsumata, Yuni & Kazuma Sumi beat Kazusada Higuchi, Ryota Nakatsu & Yuki Ishida to win the vacant KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship. Katsumata, Yuni & Sumi become the 57th KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions. Sumi pinned Ishida.

Match 2: Toru Owashi beat Antonio Honda & Kazuki Hirata in a 3-way by pinning Honda.

Match 3: MJ Paul & Illusion beat J.J. Furno & Tomomitsu Matsunaga. Paul pinned Matsunaga after a reverse splash.

Match 4: Yukio Naya, Yuya Koroku & Keigo Nakamura beat Makoto Oisho, Akito & Takao Soma. Koroku pinned Soma after Transformed Triangle Lancer.

Match 5: HARASHIMA & Takeshi Masada beat Jun Akiyama & Daichi Sato. HARASHIMA pinned Sato after Blue Sword.

Match 6: In a Loser Entry Match, Super Sasadango Machine beat DDT Extreme Champion Danshoku Doeno to win the title. Machine becomes the 62nd DDT Extreme Champion. As a result, Haku-Dieno’s real-life pet dog-must join DDT.

Naomi Yoshinura appeared and announced he will return on 4/6. He has been out since late 2023 due to injuries.

Match 7: Daisuke Sasaki beat KANON. Afterwards, Sasaki announced the Hideki Okatani return match on 4/6 will be Sasaki & Okatani vs. KANON in a handicap match.

Match 8: Funinori Abe & Takuya Nomura beat KO-D Tag Team Champions MAO & To-y to win the titles. Abe & Nomura become the 86th KO-D Tag Team Champions. Abe pinned To-y with a Manji hold. Next up: Nakamura & Shinya Aoki. That match will happen on 4/6.

Match 9: Minoru Suzuki beat DDT Universal Champion Yuki Ueno to win the title. Suzuki becomes the 14th DDT Universal Champion.

Main Event: KO-D Openweight Champion Chris Brookes beat Masa Takanashi to retain the title. V3 for Brookes. But Takanashi was seriously injured during the match and was unable to move afterwards, and was hospitalized immediately. In post-event comments translated to English, Akito (who also is interim GM of DDT) reported Takanashi is conscious, can speak and move his hands. No further details as to what happened have been provided. More as it becomes available. Next up: As expected per winning the D GENERATIONS CUP, Koroku. That match will happen on 4/6.

The 16-man field for this year’s KING OF DDT Tournament was also announced. Takanashi is in but subject to change.

It was also announced that WRESTLE PETER PAN, the promotion’s biggest annual event in August, will be 2 events this year-8/30 at Higashin Arena in Tokyo and 8/31 at Korakuen.

The next event is Sunday at Moyakojima Community Center in Osaka. There will be no live broadcast.

UPDATE: Tokyo Sports reports Takanashi may have suffered a cervical spine injury. He complained of being unable to move his lower body after the ending of the match, which was an avalanche-style Praying Mantis Bomb (a piledriver variation). Awaiting further updates.

UPDATE 2: DDT has now provided an update-neck injury but still undergoing examination. The results will be announced at a later date.

UPDATE 3: Latest update-2 cervical vertebrae fractures and cervical spine cord injury. Remains in intensive care following successful surgery. Post-operative recovery is progressing well. Further updates to come but assume he will be out several months at the very least. Although announced for KING OF DDT 2025, I assume he’ll be out.
