GLEAT ran their first G PROWRESTLING event of the year today, returning to their primary event series after an end-of-year break.

Today’s event was held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched on demand FOR FREE on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 279.

There was a last-minute change to the card due to Minoru Tanaka being pulled off the event. Left gastrocnemius muscle. Or in simpler terms, calf muscle. Out indefinitely.

Match 1: El Lindaman, Andy Panda & Andy Wu beat Luigi Primo, Kapy & Vent Vert Jack. Panda pinned Primo after a firebird splash.

Match 2: Katsuhiko Nakajima, Kendo Ka Shin & Shinya Aoki beat El Lindaman, Takanori Ito & Ryo Aitaka. Nakajima pinned 8to after Northern Lights Bomb. Afterwards, Aoki issued a Lidet UWF Championship challenge to Nakajima. That match will happen on 2/11 at Korakuen Hall.

Match 3: Ryuichi Kawakami & Keiichi Sato beat Tetsuya Izuchi & Kotaro Suzuki. Kawakami pinned Izuchi after Fire Thunder Bomb.

Match 4: Soma Watanabe, So Daimonji, ARASHI & Black Andromeda beat Takehiro Yamamura, Junjie, JD Lee & Shigehiro Itie. ARASHI pinned Lee after Death Nucadra del Dolmental. Afterwards, Lee announced he was joining the B.G.I. faction.

Match 5: Sayaka Unagi. Nanami Hatano, Ayana Sasamara & Honori Hana beat Marika Kobashi, Yuna Manase, MICHIKO & Chanyota. Unagi pinned Kobashi.

Main Event: G INFINITY Champions Kaito Ishida & KAZMA SAKAMOTO beat T-Hawk & Hayato Tanura to retain the titles. Ishida pinned T-Hawk after countering Ready-to-wear. V1 for the champs. Next up: ARASHI & Lee. That match will happen on 2/11.

GLEAT ran their latest G PRO WRESTLING event yesterday, the last one before a major milestone as it was the 99th such event.

Yesterday’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on YouTube with a paid channel subscription (about 900 yen in Japan but $9/month outside Japan, which given current exchange rates is a ripoff).

The announced paid attendance was 174.

Match 1: Ryuichi Kawakami, Keiichi Sato, Chris Weiss & Rock Iwasaki beat KAZMA SAKAMOTO, Soma Watanabe, Quiet Storm & So Daimonji. Kawakami pinned Watanabe after a lariat.

Match 2: Mirko Mori & Nico Inberaldi beat MICHIKO & Junjie. Mori pinned MICHIKO affer a frog splash.

Match 3: Katsuhijo Nakajima & Ryo Aitaka beat Hayato Tamura & T-Hawk. Aitaka pinned Tamura after a lariat.

Match 4: In a G-RUSH Match, Kaito Ishida vs. Brads Knuckles JUN & Minoru Tanaka for the vacant G-RUSH Chanpionship went to a 7 minute time limit draw. Which led to…
Continuation (No time limit, 1 count pinfalls, 1 rope escape allowed, 3 count countouts): Minoru Tanaka beat Kaito Ishida & Brass Knuckles JUN & Kaito Ishida in a 3-way by pinning JUN to win the vacant G-RUSH Championship. Tanaka becomes the 3rd G-RUSH Champion.

Main Event: El Lindaman & Takehiro Yamamura beat Tetauya Izuchi & Kotato Suzuki. Yamamura pinned Izuchi affer Super Super Kick.

After the event, it was announced on social media that the next challenger for Lindaman’s G-REX Championship will be TJP. That match will happen on 12/30.

The next event is Lidet UWF Vol. 7 Saturday at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring. Broadcast plans TBA, if not live on YouTube (again paywalled) it should br on demand soon after.

UPDATE: Injury Report-After the event it was announced that Brass Knuckles JUN was apparently injured during the event. Broken jaw. This from JUN himself. Out indefinitely pending further updates

There were reports in GLEAT lately about VINA leaving the promotion recently but staying until the end of the year while potential contract extension talks took place, but those were subject to change due to injury among other things. That unfortunately just happened. Multiple left shoulder and left biceps issues. Out indefinitely but surgery is needed so it may be a long time. As a result, the G INFINITY Championship he held with Kuroshio TOKYO Japan is now VACANT. Future title plans TBA.

GLEAT announced on their website that Yu Iizuka is taking an extended hiatus from the promotion effective at the end of the year. While he dealt with injuries this past year, including several concussions, he currently is not seriously injured or under doctor’s orders but wants to rest and focus on jiu-jitsu training while focusing on a full recovery. He is expected to still be part of the year-end 12/30 event at TDC Hall in Tokyo then will step away, based on translation of the promotion’s announcement this hiatus could be at least 6 months to a year or longer as they will check in with Iizuka every 6 months. He is also scheduled for Sunday’s event in Osaka.

Match 2: KAZMA SAKAMOTO, Quiet Storm & Koki Iwasaki beat MICHIKO, Seiki Yoshioka & Shigehiro Irie. Iwasaki beat MICHIKO with a Texas Cloverleaf.

Match 3: Chris Weiss beat JD Lee.

Match 4: So Daimonji & Hartley Jackson beat Minoru Tanaka & Yu Iizuka. Daimonji pinned Iizuka after Black Rain.

Match 5: Hayato Tamura beat Ryo Aitaka.

Match 6: Ryuichi Kawakami & Brass Knuckles JUN beat Parker & Macy Boudreaux. JUN pinned Macy Bordeaux after Frozen Punch.

Match 7: El Lindaman, Chris Ridgeway & Fuminori Abe beat Kaito Ishida, Tetsuya Izuchi & Kotaro Suzuki. Ridgeway pinned Suzuki with Samson Clutch.

GLEAT ran their latest “house show” this past Sunday in Sendai.

Sunday’s event was held at Guriri Hall in Sendai. There was no live broadcast and it will not be available on demand on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 330, a legit sellout.

Match 1: Ryuichi Kawakami & Brass Knuckles JUN beat Densha MICHIO. JUN pinned MICHIO after Frozen Punch.

Match 2: Takanori Ito & Ryo Aitaka beat KAZMA SAKAMOTO & Koki Iwasaki. Ito pinned Iwasaki with a German suplex hold.

Match 3: T-Hawk beat Yu Iizuka.

Match 4: Minoru Tanaka & CIMA beat Rui Hyugaji & Ayumu Gunji (Michinoku Pro). Tanaka pinned Gunji with Heat Clutch.

Match 5: MICHIKO & El Lindaman vs. Manami & Hayato Tamura went to a 20 minute time limit draw.

Main Event: Soma Watanabe, Takehiro Yamamura, Junjie & JD Lee beat Kaito Ishida. Tetsuya Izuchi, Kotaro Suzuki & Keiichi Sato. Yamamura pinned Sato after Stardust Press.

Sunday’s event was held at Nagoya Diamond Hall in Nagoya and will be available on demand on YouTube tomorrow. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 277.

Match 1: MICHIKO, Minoru Tanaka & Kumaarashi beat Blanca Maho, Issei Onitsuka & CIMA. Kumaarashi pinned Maho after a diving senton. Afterwards, a recruiting war occurred as Kumaarashi was being recruited by both Yanzu Family and Bulk Orchestra.

Match 2: Ryuichi Kawakami & Brass Knuckles JUN beat Yu Iizuka & Riki Aitaka. Kawakami pinned Iizuka after Frozen Punch.

Match 3: Hayato Tamura & Quiet Storm beat Soma Watanabe & Junjie. Storm pinned Junjie after a lariat.

Match 4: Hartley Jackson & So Daimonji beat KAZMA SAKAMOTO & Koki Iwasaki. Daimonji pinned Iwasaki after Black Rain.

Match 5: Chris Ridgrway beat Takehiro Yamamura.

Match 6: Lidet UWF Double Bout: Masakatsu Funaki & Daichi Hashimoto beat Katsuhiko Nakajima & Takanori Ito by submission. Funaki beat Ito with a sleeper hold.
