Hendry & Santino Marella almost let Urmura talk himself into an Impact Digital Media Championship shot, but Hendry has a rematch as former champion. Santino hinted at a 3-way. Impact Wrestling 7/21/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in Windsor, Canada:

This episode was taped Sunday and begins the fallout from Saturday’s Slammiversary PPV.

The YouTube pre-show match was Crazzy Steve vs. Alan Angels.

Slammiversary highlights open the show. A shocking moment at the end after the main event when Josh Alexander returned. He’ll be part of tonight’s show.

Scott D’Amore opens the show in the ring. It looks like his mother is at ringside in the crowd. He puts Sunday teammates Eric Young & Darren McCarty over and thanks the crowd before announcing his leave of absence as President of Impact is over, but he is acting Director Of Authority tonight because Santino Marella has a match. He runs down what else is on tap for tonight. As he prepares to introduce the first match and Jake Something, The Good Hands interrupt. They confront D’Amore over his being a roadblock for them in Impact. Jason Hotch telegraphs the impending beatdown so D’Amore takes his jacket off and puts them in a match with Rich Swann & Sami Callihan right now. (Something faces Kevin Knight later tonight)

Match 1: Sami Callihan & Rich Swann beat The Good Hands. Swann pinned Jason Hotch.

Bullet Club promo post-Slammiversary. They get their Impact World Tag Team Title rematch tonight. Raskalz interrupt and try to start something so Bullet Club starts a fight but security quickly breaks it up as D’Amore storms in. He ejects Raskalz just as Johnny Swinger & Zicky Dice show up. D’Amore changes the gimmick so that if Swinger wins just one match instead of 50 he gets a title shot. He just has to beat Dice and if he doesn’t, he has to leave Impact. Then D’Amore changes it to Loser Leaves Impact (fired).

Eric Young interviewed backstage. Nick Aldis interrupts. He tries to recruit young in his war against certain unnamed people in the promotion. Young instead talks Aldis into a match and Aldis accepts.

Match 2: Jake Something beat Kevin Knight.

Match 3: Courtney Rush beat Savannah Evans. Lots of interference from Gisele Shaw, Jai Vidal & Death Dollz.

Trinity promo post-Slammiversary.

The Coven promo.

Impact announces Slammiversary drew their 4th highest attendance for an event in the last 4 years.

Jonathan Gresham interview with Thom Hannifan from earlier today. Apparently he’s disgruntled.

Match 4: Dirty Dango beat Santino Marella. Johnny Bravo interfered as a helmeted mystery man to help.

Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans run into Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly backstage. Right as Jai Vidal gets unceremoniously dumped at their feet.

Alisha & Eddie Edwards promo.Traci Brooks & Frankie Kazarian quickly interrupt and all fight as security tries to break it up.

Match 5: Impact World Tag Team Champions Subculture beat Ace Austin & Chris Bey to retain the titles. Mark Andres pinned Chris Bey with a rollup. Despite being ejected earlier, Raskalz interfered late behind the ref’s back.

Replay of X Division Championship match at Slammiversary. No update on Chris Sabin.

Josh Alexander comes out for the main event segment. He cuts a long, deep promo and says he’s fully cleared to compete and is going after the Impact World Championship he had to vacate due to injury. After Alexander calls him out, Alex Shelley comes out. Challenge accepted, but then Lio Rush comes out. He hints at exercising Option C to become the Impact World Champion. This brings out KUSHIDA, who earned an Impact X Division title shot when he wants by winning Ultimate X at Slammiversary. He says No Option C until he cashes in his title shot. And now for whatever reason Bully Ray comes out. Then Moose & Brian Myers sneak into the ring and the beatdown is on. Moose holds the X and Bully tells Rush to take a belt shot on KUSHIDA but Rush bails instead and KUSHIDA gets laid out again as we cut away to end the show.

Next week: Swinger-Dice Loser Leaves Impact, Trinity & Dani Luna vs. The Coven and Young-Aldis.

BREAKING: Top Impact Star Off Slammiversary Event (Updated 7/10)

Impact Wrestling just announced a change to the upcoming Slammiversary PPV on 7/15: Steve Maclin is now off. Undisclosed injury. It happened during last week’s Australia events when he got his Impact World Championship rematch against now-champion Alex Shelley, who beat Maclin for the title at Against All Odds. Possibly a hip/groin/leg issue based on reports of what happened during the match. Yes, Maclin was on this week’s Impact Wrestling but that was taped prior to the Australia events.

Maclin was to have teamed with Bully Ray at Slammiversary to face PCO & Scott D’Amore. A replacement will be announced Monday on SiriusXM’s “Busted Open” radio show.

More as it becomes available.

7/10 UPDATE: Bully Ray’s new partner, the replacement for Maclin, is Deaner. PCO is now off after being set on fire on last week’s Impact. Replacement TBA.

Impact Wrestling 6/29/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in Atlanta, GA:

This episode was taped last Friday & Saturday as part of 2 days of TV tapings dubbed Summer Sizzler.

The YouTube pre-show match was Johnny Swinger vs. Bhupinder Gujjar.

Match 1: Impact X Division Champion Chris Sabin beat Trey Miguel by DQ to retain the title. Zachary Wentz returned and interfered on Miguel’s behalf and the Rascals (sp?) were reformed. Heel beatdown but Alex Shelley quickly came out to make the save.

Miguel/Wentz promo backstage.

Deonna Purrazzo joins commentary for the next match.

Match 2: Trinity beat Jai Vidal by submission. Gisele Shaw & Savannah Evans beatdown on Trinity immediately afterwards while Purrazzo just watched as she walked around the ring for a bit then made the save.

Pre-show match highlights. Zicky Dice was the referee and helped Johnny Swinger beat Bhupinder Gujjar by a fast 3 count. 1 on the Road To 50. Until…referee Chad Pinder interrupts. Per Santino Marella, of course the win doesn’t count. And if Dice does it again he’ll lose his referee license. Back to 0!

Match 3: Lio Rush (Impact Debut) beat Jack Price. Glorified squash.

Dirty Dango promo from social media earlier this week. Santino responds afterwards. He talks like he’s going to face Dango at Slammiversary.

Frankie Kazarian confronts Eddie & Alisha Edwards backstage.

Match 4: Masha Slamovich beat KiLynn King. Taylor Wilde interfered multiple times but at the end Killer Kelly came out and choked out Wilde with a dog collar chain to help Slamovich. Afterwards, Kelly & Masha teased a potential alliance as they wrapped the collar/chain around each other and left together.

Scott D’Amore promo. Several Impact wrestlers talk about his earlier career days. Tommy Dreamer puts him over as inventor of the Canadian Destroyer. D’Amore interviewed backstage afterwards. Darren McCarty has been added to his Slammiversary match as guest enforcer. The Good Hands then interrupt. They try to talk D’Amore into a match before then, but he says he’ll talk to Santino Marella and try to make The Good Hands vs. PCO in a handicap match for next week.

Match 5: Kenny King beat Yuya Uemura. Before the match begins and they go to commercial, Joe Hendry is seen in the production area backstage telling producer Josh Matthews to cue up some music and video footage. Hendry comes out after the match and cues up a new one of his corny music videos called “The Kenny King Story”. Yes, this was pure comedy and “Stripper Kenny” got a very loud reaction from the crowd.

Added to Slammiversary on 7/15 is Ultimate X with Mike Bailey, Jonathan Gresham, KUSHIDA, Kevin Knight and Angels for an X Division Championship match when they want it.

Nick Aldis comes out. With microphone. He asks Alex Shelley to come out to explain his actions and he promptly does. Shelley with microphone. He tells Aldis this is his ring as champion but Aldis complains about what Shelley did to Jimmy Jacobs last week as they banter back and forth. Shelley takes Aldis’ advice and steps out of the ring to sit in the crowd with the fans. The bantering continues. Aldis says he now has to not only beat Shelley for the Impact World Championship at Slammiversary but also humiliate and embarrass him. They finally start going at it with Aldis using an eye rake to take control and manhandle Shelley all over the place. Aldis goes for a belt shot with the title but Chris Sabin makes the save. But as Aldis goes to leave, Lio Rush sneaks in and ambushes Sabin from behind and the beatdown is on. Aldis then gets the belt shot in on Shelley and Rush does the same to Sabin with the X Division title belt. They pose with the belts to end the show.

Pre-show match highlights where Jody Threat beat Nevaeh. They shake hands and be nice backstage before Nevaeh geeks out meeting Death Dollz. Nevaeh remembers them under their old names/personas though. Death Dollz have a comedy huddle but Nevaeh overhears them because she’s right next to them. She sends them off on a ridiculous story quest.

Zicky Dice being quizzed backstage by a referee with some “help” from Johnny Swinger. Dice passes and is now an official Impact referee. Swinger sees an easy screwjob path to 50 wins now.

Match 3: Jonathan Gresham & Mile Bailey beat The Design (Angels & Kon). Bailey pinned Angels after Ultima Weapon.

Trinity interviewed backstage. She challenges Jai Vidal to a match for next week.

Jimmy Jacobs reads a prepared statement from Nick Aldis, apparently he’s not appearing this week due to threats on social media. Alex Shelley interrupts. Jacobs says Aldis will appear next week and has even reserved a front row seat for Shelley. Jacobs makes a smart remark as Shelley wants away and gets laid out for it. (This might be the last appearance or one of them for Jacobs in Impact, reportedly his contract is up and he may be moving on)

Match 4: Killer Kelly beat Taylor Wilde. Afterwards, KiLynn King starts to beat down Kelly but Masha Slamovich soon comes out with a dog collar. She teases going after Kelly again but instead goes after The Coven until they bail. They tease perhaps making nice after all their recent fighting but Slamovich bails as Kelly makes a peace offer of sorts.

Replay of Scott D’Amore-Bully Ray/Steve Maclin/PCO happenings last week

D’Amore interviewed backstage.

Match 5: Impact Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry beat Yuya Uemura to retain the title. Once the match began there was a quick interruption as Kenny King & Sheldon Jean came out and joined commentary. King seemed to issue a silent challenge for the title after the match.

Upcoming event match rundown. Hendry vs. Eddie Edwards for the Dgital Media Championship and Impact X Division Champion Chris Sabin vs. Frankie Kazarian for the title are announced to 6/30. On 7/1, Motor City machine Guns will face Ace Austin & Chris Bey for the Impact Tag Team Championship.

Next week: Sabin vs. Trey Miguel rematch for the X Division Championship, Trinity vs. Jai Vidal and Nick Aldis explains his actions to Alex Shelley.

The next TV tapings are tomorrow & Saturday in Atlanta, GA. This should cover the next 3 weeks of TV which will take them to the Slammiversary PPV on 7/15 and fallout TV tapings on 7/16, which should take them to the next Chicago TV tapings at the end of July. A reminder that the 6/30 and 7/1 Australia events will be available live and on demand only on FITE (2 AM PT/5 AM ET live starts each day, $14.99 for each date or $24.99 for both. I have pre-ordered both dates so on demand results will be posted late evening on 6/30 and around midday on 7/1 after I have a chance to watch each date).
