Stardom 9/8/24 Results (Updated)

With the debacle that was this year’s 5STAR GP now behind them, Stardom moves on with their first September event today in Tokyo. The event starts with an award ceremony for tournament winner Maika, then it’s an 8-match card including a title match as Mei Seira defends the High Speed Championship against Gina. There also will be a 3-way between Hanan, Thekla & Hazuki with the winner getting the next Wonder Of Stardom Championship shot.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on Stardom World. It’s not yet known if there will be any commentary. Since any match probably won’t have more than a 20 minute time limit (High Speed Championship matches usually go 15 minutes at most) I anticipate this event having a total running time of around 2 1/2 hours. (Pre-show Update: You can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube)

Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
5STAR GP Award Ceremony (before matches)
Starlight Kid vs. Rian
Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara vs. Rina & Ruaka
Mina Shirakawa vs. Saya Iida & Ranna Yagami in a 3-way
Mayu Iwatani, Koguma & Momo Kohgo vs. AZM, Suzu Suzuki & Miyu Amasaki
Syuri, Saki Kashima, Hina & Lady C vs. Natsuko Tora, Momo Watanabe, Saya Kamitani & Konami
Hazuki vs. Hanan & Thekla in a 3-way for the next Wonder Of Stardom Championship match
Tam Nakano, Natsupoi & Yuna Mizumori vs. Maika, Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO
High Speed Champion Mei Seira vs. Gina for the title

Updates below will begin at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET.

7:30 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Looks like almost full capacity setup and not a sellout but mostly full from what I can see so far, so probably around 1000. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 1022)

The event begins with introduction by the ring announcers ahead of the 5STAR GP Award Ceremony. These include special prizes for wrestlers and announcement of the best match in each block. After all the winners are announced, New Japan Pro Wrestling President Hiroshi Tanahashi is introduced as the presenter. Special prizes went to Hanan, AZM & Starlight Kid. Red Block A Best Match was Maika vs. Hazuki. Red Block B Best Match was Mayu Iwatani vs. Momo Watanabe. Blue Block A Best Match was Kid vs. Saori Anou (Anou is not present today). Blue Block B Best Match was Suzu Suzuki vs.Thekla. Thekla accepted in full heel mode by ending with “Thank You, F*ck You!” in English. Next up was the Runner-up prize for Saya Kamitani, whose heel taunt pose was mimiced by Tanahashi for photos. Finally, the tournament winner’s prize including a queen’s robe and crown for Maika, plus the trophy. Lastly were comments from Stardom President Taro Okada then the group photo, during which like earlier Momo Watanabe acted like she wanted nothing to do with all this.
UPDATE: Here were the specific special prizes:
Distinguished Service-Hanan
Courage-AZM
Skill-Starlight Kid
Runner-Up-Saya Kamitani

Today’s lineup order announcement follows. The High Speed Championship match will be the main event.

The matches begin at 7:56 PM PT/10:56 PM ET.

Match 1: Starlight Kid vs. Rian. 15 minute time limit
Result: Starlight Kid beat Rian by submission

Match 2: Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara vs. Rina & Ruaka. 15 minute time limit
Result: Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara beat Rina & Ruaka. Sakura pinned Rina. Afterwards, Sakura with microphone. Not surprisingly, she wants Rina again for the Future Of Stardom Championship. Or perhaps the New Blood Tag Team Champinoship held by Rina. Or both…

Match 3: Mina Shirakawa vs. Saya Iida & Ranna Yagami in a 3-way. 15 minute time limit
Result: Mina Shirakawa beat Saya Iida & Ranna Yagami in a 3-way by pinning Yagami. Afterwards, Shirakawa with microphone. She said “I’m baaaaaaaaack!” in English before addressing the crowd in Japanese. She won a couple titles in England while she wasn’t doing the HLAEW thing. She then said in English that Japan, England and the US all want Mina. The way she’s been acting lately, I’m surprised she didn’t follow Rossy Ogawa to Marigold. Her style is perfect for the grumpy old pervert.

Match 4: Mayu Iwatani, Koguma & Momo Kohgo vs. AZM, Suzu Suzuki & Miyu Amasaki. 20 minute time limit
Result: AZM, Suzu Suzuki & Miyu Amasaki beat Mayu Iwatani, Koguma & Momo Kohgo. Suzuki pinned Kohgo.

Match 5: Syuri, Saki Kashima, Hina & Lady C vs. Natsuko Tora, Momo Watanabe, Saya Kamitani & Konami. 20 minute time limit
Result: Natsuko Tora, Momo Watanabe, Saya Kamitani & Konami beat Syuri, Saki Kashima, Hina & Lady C. Konami pinned C.

Match 6: Hazuki vs. Hanan & Thekla in a 3-way for the next Wonder Of Stardom Championship match. 20 minute time limit
Result: Hazuki beat Hanan & Thekla in a 3-way by pinning Hanan. As a result, Hazuki will face Wonder Of Stardom Champion Natsupoi for the title at a later date. Lots of H.A.T.E. interference here.

Quick break for ring cleaning/maintenance.

Match 7: Tam Nakano, Natsupoi & Yuna Mizumori vs. Maika, Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO. 30 minute time limit
Result: Maika, Waka Tsukiyama & HANAKO beat Tam Nakano, Natsupoi & Yuna Mizumori. HANAKO beat Mizumori. Long promos followed.

Main Event: High Speed Champion Mei Seira vs. Gina for the title. 15 minute time limit
Result: Time Limit Draw. As a result, Seira retains the title. V1 for Seira.

The next event is NEW BLOOD 14 Friday at Chunichi Hall in Nagoya. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET. Since it’s a NEW BLOOD event it may also be streamed on YouTube.

UPDATE: Said later date for Natsupoi-Hazuki for the Wonder Of Stardom Championship is Saturday in Osaka. That event is scheduled to be a PPV. Aya Sakura is next for Rina for the Future Of Stardom Championship, but not this coming week.

Stardom 8/31/24 Results

Stardom wrapped up the 5STAR GP today with a major event in Tokyo.

Today’s event was held at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza Main Arena in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on Stardom World as a PPV for 4400 Japanese yen (around $30 US) until Wednesday morning. It will be available on demand for all monthly subscribers shortly after that. You can also watch the first match FOR FREE on YouTube. Saori Anou & Ami Sohrei were guests on commentary.

The announced paid attendance was 2108.

Pre-show match: Waka Tsukiyama beat Rian.

Match 2: Hazuki & Koguma beat Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara. Koguma pinned Sakura after a diving body press.

Match 3: 5STAR GP Semifinals: Maika beat Mayu Iwatani.

Match 4: 5STAR GP Semifinals: Saya Kamitani beat Hanan.

Match 5: Anna Jay beat Momo Kohgo by submission. This is Anna’s last match in Stardom for now as she is headed back to All Elite Wrestling, but there are many hoping she will be back (and soon).

Match 6: Gina beat Saya Iida.

Match 7: Starlight Kid, AZM, Suzu Suzuki, Mei Seira & Miyu Amasaki beat Syuri, Saki Kashima, Ranna Yagami, Lady C & Risa Sera. Kid pinned Yagami after a moonsault press.

Match 8: Natsupoi, Saori Anou & Yuna Mizumori beat Thekla, Konami & Ruaka. Mizumori pinned Ruaka after Supergirl.

Match 9: Future Of Stardom Champion Rina beat Hina to retain the title. V11(!) for Rina. That’s a new record, so not only did Rina beat her twin sister today, she has broken her big sister Hanan’s title defense record. This match almost went the full 15 minutes.

Match 10: Tam Nakano beat World Of Stardom Champion Natsuko Tora to win the title. Nakano becomes the 19th World Of Stardom Champion. This has “WTF” booking all over it and in my opinion completely devalued the 5STAR GP. How the f+++ does Nakano start 0-4, get the title shot out of nowhere, finish 0-6 and now win the title? The only logical explanation would have been her vacating the belt last year due to injury, but they didn’t seem to do that. I really thought Stardom would be better off under a new regime after Rossy Ogawa was fired. I was apparently wrong.

Main Event: 5STAR GP Finals: Maika beat Saya Kamitani to win the tournament. As a result, Maika also gets a World Of Stardom Championship shot. That match will happen on 9/14 at Osaka Prefectural Gym. Ironically, Maika won the title after Nakano vacated it.

The next event is 9/8 at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin on 9/7 at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET.

Stardom 8/28/24 Results

Stardom continued the 5STAR GP today with the Quarterfinals, including some tiebreaker matches beforehand.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on Stardom World. You can also watch the first 3 matches FOR FREE on YouTube.

The announced paid attendance was 508, a legit advance sellout. In fact, that’s over full capacity as they sold standing room only tickets today (the venue’s normal maximum capacity is 500).

Match 1: 5STAR GP Red Block B Tiebreaker: A series of single matches among the 3 participants where the first to win 2 straight matches would advance:
1-Mei Seira beat AZM.
2-Tomoka Inaba beat Mei Seira.
3-AZM beat Tomoka Inaba.
4-AZM beat Mei Seira. As a result, AZM advances to the Quarterfinals.

Match 2: 5STAR GP Blue Block B Tiebreaker: Hanan beat Suzu Suzuki. As a result, Hanan advances to the Quarterfinals.

Match 3: Tam Nakano & Hina beat Natsuko Tora & Rina. Nakano pinned Tora after Andromeda. (Side thought: When the rematch happens Saturday for the World Of Stardom Championship, Tora must win or else the entire 5STAR GP and more is devalued beyond repair. The only possible explanation for Nakano getting the shot after starting 0-4 and finishing 0-6 is because when she lost the title at the end of 2023, she had to vacate it due to injury)

Match 5: 5STAR GP Red Block Quarterfinals: Mayu Iwatani beat Natsupoi. As a result, Iwatani advances to the Semifinals.

Match 6: 5STAR GP Blue Block Quarterfinals: Saya Kamitani beat Starlight Kid. As a result, Kamitani advances to the Semifinals.

Match 7: 5STAR GP Blue Block Quarterfinals: Hanan beat Syuri. As a result, Hanan advances to the Semifinals.

Main Event: 5STAR GP Red Block Quarterfinals: Maika beat AZM. As a result, Maika advances to the Semifinals.

The Semifinals will be Iwatani vs. Maika and Hanan vs. Kamitani.

The Semifinals and Finals are Saturday at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza Main Arena in Tokyo. Live streaming on Stardom World as a PPV for 4400 Japanese yen (around $30 US) will begin Friday at 11:30 PM PT/2:30 AM ET. Purchase includes the live broadcast and unlimited replays until Tuesday morning US time. It should be available to all monthly Stardom World subscribers soon after that (at worst it may not be until Wednesday).

Stardom 8/25/24 Results

Stardom wrapped up the preliminary rounds of the 5STAR GP today in Yamagata.

Today’s event was held at Yamagata Big Wing in Yamagata and can be watched on demand on Stardom World. You can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced. On the live broadcast (I watched the first half until intermission) it looked to be close to 500 and, for the setup, potentially a sellout or very close.

Before the matches, a signing ceremony for the upcoming World Of Stardom Championship match between Natsuko Tora & Tam Nakano was held. Unsurprisingly it ended with a Tora beatdown on Nakano. (Side thought: Unless they want to make an absolute mockery of the 5STAR GP, Nakano must lose. THe only logical reason to give her a title shot in the middle of a winless 5STAR GP is because when she lost the title at the end of 2023, it was because she had to vacate it due to injury)

5STAR GP:
Match 1: Blue Block B: Suzu Suzuki beat Ranna Yagami.
Match 2: Blue Block A: Syuri beat Miyu Amasaki.
Match 3: Red Block B: Saya Iida beat AZM.
Match 4: Red Block A: Maika beat Aimi.
Match 5: Red Block A: Ruaka beat Yuna Mizumori.
Match 6: Blue Block A: Saki Kashima beat Thekla.

Match 7: Natsuko Tora & Rina beat Anna Jay & Hina. Rina pinned Hina after a diving double knee drop.

5STAR GP:
Match 8: Blue Block A: Koguma beat Saori Anou.
Match 9: Blue Block A: Starlight Kid beat Gina by submission.
Match 10: Red Block A: Hazuki vs. Natsupoit went to a 15 minute time limit draw.
Match 11: Red Block B: Mayu Iwatani beat Tomoka Inaba.
Match 12: Red Block B: Mei Seira beat Tam Nakano by ref stoppage (technical submission).
Main Event: Blue Block B: Hanan beat Saya Kamitani.

Final Standings:
Red Block A:
1-Maika, 6-0, 12 pts
2-Natsupoi, 4-1-1, 9 pts
3-Hazuki, 3-2-1, 7 pts
4-Konami, 3-3, 6 pts
5-Aimi, 2-4-1, 5 pts
6-Ruaka, 1-4-1, 3 pts
7-Mizumori, 0-6, 0 pts

Red Block B:
1-Iwatani, 5-1, 10 pts
2-AZM, 3-1-2, 8 pts
3-Inaba, 3-1-2, 8 pts
4-Seira, 3-1-2, 8 pts
5-Momo Watanabe, 2-4, 4 pts
6-Iida, 2-4, 4 pts
7-Nakano, 0-6, 0 pts

Blue Block A:
1-Syuri, 4-2, 8 pts
2-Kid, 3-1-2, 8 pts
3-Anou, 3-2-1, 7 pts
4-Koguma, 3-3, 6 pts
5-Jay, 3-3, 6 pts
6-Gina, 2-5, 4 pts
7-Amasaki, 1-4-1, 3 pts

Blue Block B:
1-Kamitani, 4-2, 8 pts
2-Suzuki, 3-2-1, 7 pts
3-Hanan, 3-2-1, 7 pts
4-Risa Sera, 3-3, 6 pts
5-Kashima, 3-3, 6 pts
6-Ranna Yagami, 2-4, 4 pts
7-Thekla, 2-4, 4 pts

The top 2 in each block advance to the Semifinals. In Red A, Maika & Natsupoi advance. In Red B, Iwatani advances but there is a 3-way tie for 2nd. Because the head-to-head results for Inaba, Seira & AZM were all draws, there will be a 3-way tiebreaker match Wednesday. The winner moves on to face Maika that day. In Blue A, Syuri & Kid advance with Sturi finishing first on tiebreakers (she beat Kid). In Blue B, Kamitani advances but Suzuki & Hanan tied for 2nd and because their head-to-head result was a draw, there will be a tiebreaker rematch Wednesday. The winner moves on to face Syuri that day. The other Quarterfinals are Iwatani vs. Natsupoi and Kamitani vs. Kid.

The Quarterfinals are Wednesday at Shunjuku Face in Tokyo. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin at 3 AM PT/6 AM ET.

Stardom 8/24/24 Results

Stardom continued the 5STAR GP yesterday with the penultimate day of the Blue Blocks.

Today’s event was held at Parse Izaka Convention Hall in Fukishima and can be watched on demand on Stardom World. You can also watch the pre-show match and first match FOR FREE on YouTube.

The paid attendance has not yet been announced.

Pre-show Match: Waka Tsukiyama beat Momo Kohgo & Rian in a 3-way by pinning Rian.

Before the main show began, Lady C appeared to greet the crowd. C, who is out with injury, was walking with one crutch and watched at least some of the event from ringside.

5STAR GP Blue Block:
Match 1: Block B: Ranna Yagami beat Hanan.
Match 2: Block Block A: Anna Jay beat Koguma by submission.

Match 3: Saki Kashima & Hina beat Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara and Rina & Natsuko Tora in a 3-way when Hina pinned Rina.

5STAR GP Blue Block:
Match 4: Block A: Starlight Kid vs. Miyu Amasaki went to a 15 minute time limit draw.
Match 5: Block B: Thekla beat Risa Sera by DQ. Ref assault after chair use.
Match 6: Block A: Syuri beat Gina.
Main Event: Block B: Saya Kamitani beat Suzu Suzuki.

Standings:
Block A:
1-Saori Anou, 3-1-1, 7 pts
2-Kid, 2-1-2, 6 pts
3-Syuri, 3-2, 6 pts
4-Jay, 3-3, 6 pts (OUT)
5-Koguma, 2-3, 4 pts (OUT)
6-Gina, 2-3, 4 pts (OUT)
7-Amasaki, 1-3-1, 3 pts (OUT)

Block B:
1-Kamitani, 4-1, 8 pts
2-Sera, 3-3, 6 pts
3-Suzuki, 2-2-1, 5 pts
4-Hanan, 2-2-1, 5 pts
5-Thekla, 2-3, 4 pts
6-Kashima, 2-3, 4 pts (OUT)
7-Yagami, 2-3, 4 pts (OUT)

The top 2 in each block advance to the Quarterfinals. In Block A, despite being tied for 2nd Jay is out because of tiebreakers and no matches left (among those still in it she only has the tiebreaker against Anou). In the final matches, Anou advances with a win (Koguma) or a draw if Syuri/Kid is a draw or no contest. The winner of Syuri/Kid, if there is one, advances. If Anou loses, she can only not advance if Kid/Syuri is a draw because her draw was against Kid, so it would get complicated. In Block B, Kamitani will finish first and advance. Sera still has a chance but possibly blew it with a DQ today (although Thekla got lucky not to get an immediate DQ at the start of the match). It does mean Sera’s only tiebreaker hope now is against Suzuki. So for Sera to advance, Suzuki must lose or draw in her last match (Yagami) and Hanan must lose her last match (Kamitani) and now Thekla must lose or draw in her last match (Kashima). Suzuki advances with a win and Hanan loss or draw. Hanan must win and Suzuki must lose or draw to advance. If both win, a tiebreaker match will likely be needed because their match was a draw. Thekla must win and Suzuki & Hanan both must lose to advance.

The next event is tomorrow at Yamagata Big Wing in Yamagata with all remaining Red and Blue Block matches-12 total-and one non-tournament match (Anna Jay & Hina vs. Rina & Natsuko Tora). Live streaming on Stardom World will begin TONIGHT at 9 PM PT/midnight ET. Due to schedule conflicts and other events I don’t know if I will be able to do live results yet.

Stardom 8/23 Results

Stardom began the penultimate days of the 5STAR GP today with the second-to-last day of the Red Blocks.

Today’s event was held at Sendai Pit in Sendai and can be watched on demand on Stardom World.

The announced paid attendance was 304.

Match 1: Momo Kohgo beat Sayaka Kurara & Rian in a 3-way by pinning Rian.

5STAR GP Red Block:
Match 2: Block B-Mayu Iwatani beat Mei Seira.
Match 3: Block A-Konami beat Yuna Mizumori by submission.

Match 4: Natsuko Tora, Ruaka & Rina beat Hina, Waka Tsukiyama & Aya Sakura. Rina pinned Hina after Pink Devil.

5STAR GP Red Block:
Match 5: Block B-Momo Watanabe beat Saya Iida.
Match 6: Block B-Tomoka Inaba beat Tam Nakano by submission.
Match 7: Block A-Natsupoi beat Aimi by submission.
Main Event: Block A-Maika beat Hazuki.

Standings:
Block A:
1-Maika, 5-0, 10 pts
2-Natsupoi, 4-1, 8 pts
3-Hazuki, 3-2, 6 pts
4-Konami, 3-3, 6 pts (OUT)
5-Aimi, 2-2-1, 5 pts (OUT)
6-Ruaka, 0-4-1, 1 pt (OUT)
7-Mizumiri, 0-5, 0 pts (OUT)

Block B:
1-AZM, 3-0-2, 8 pts
2-Inaba, 3-0-2, 8 pts
3-Iwatani, 4-1, 8 pts
4-Seira, 2-1-2, 6 pts
5-Watanabe, 2-4, 4 pts (OUT)
6-Iida, 1-4, 2 pts (OUT)
7-Nakano, 0-5, 0 pts (OUT)

The top 2 in each block advance to the Quarterfinals. In Block A, Maika has clinched one of the top 2 spots and advances no matter what. The Natsupoi-Hazuki winner on the final day will also advance, but Natsupoi also advances with a draw. In Block B the top 4 are still alive but a 4-way tie is almost certainly not going to happen. First the easy scenarios for the last day-the Iwatani-Inaba winner advances and AZM advances with a win or draw (Iida). If all 3 wind up tied due to draws, tiebreakers suggest the one out is Iwatani because she lost to AZM. Seira mathematically has a chance but needs a lot of help because she has no tiebreakers-she lost to Iwatani and had draws against AZM & Inaba.

The next event which it today at Parse Izaka in Fukushima is just underway as of this post with Blue Block action (they finished up a pre-show dark match). It is live and on demand on Stardom World and the first match (Hanan-Ranna Yagami) will be available FOR FREE on YouTube. (Also the show began with Lady C coming out to greet the crowd briefly. She was walking with a crutch but didn’t seem to hindered but this suggests she’s going to be out months)

Injury Report: The Stardom Lady Is Out Again

Although it won’t affect the 5STAR GP, Stardom has suffered another injury casualty for now as they announced Lady C is out of action again. Illness. Out tomorrow & Saturday. For tomorrow, she was to have teamed with Hina to face Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara. That match will now be Momo Kohgo vs. Sakura & Kurara in a 3-way. Kohgo was to have teamed with Waka Tsukiyama to face been in a 6-woman tag and will be replaced by Hina. For Saturday, C was to have faced Kohgo, Tsukiyama & Rian in a 4-way. It’s now a 3-way instead. For beyond these dates including Sunday, status uncertain but she is not on Sunday’s event so the earliest she could compete again (right now) is 8/31 when the 5STAR GP ends.

Stardom 8/20/24 Results

Stardom continued the 5STAR GP today with the Blue Blocks in Osaka.

Today’s event was held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and can be watched on demand on Stardom World.

The announced paid attendance was 509.

All matches were 5STAR GP matches.

Match 1: Blue Block A-Anna Jay beat Miyu Amasaki.

Match 2: Blue Block B-Risa Sera beat Ranna Yagami.

Match 3: Blue Block A-Koguma beat Syuri.

Match 4: Blue Block B-Saki Kashima beat Saya Kamitani.

Match 5: Blue Block B-Suzu Suzuki beat Thekla.

Main Event: Blue lock A-Saori Anou beat Gina.

Standings (Blue Block):
Block A:
1-Anou, 3-1-1, 7 pts
2-Starlight Kid, 2-1-1, 5 pts
3-Koguma, 2-2, 4 pts
4-Syuri, 2-2, 4 pts
5-Gina, 2-2, 4 pts
6-Jay, 2-3, 4 pts
7-Amasaki, 1-3, 2 pts

Block B:
1-Kamitani, 3-1, 6 pts
2-Sera, 3-2, 6 pts
3-Suzuki, 2-1-1, 5 pts
4-Hanan, 2-1-1, 5 pts
5-Kashima, 2-3, 4 pts
6-Yagami, 1-3, 2 pts (OUT)
7-Thekla, 1-3, 2 pts (OUT)

The top 2 in each block advance to the Quarterfinals. In Block A, Anou moves on if she beats Koguma in her final match. Everyone else is still in it but they (and definitely Amasaki & Jay) need Kid-Gina to be a no contest or some no point scenario. Right now Anou holds all the relevant tiebreakers as her only loss so far is to Jay, but she went to a draw against Kid. In Block B, Kashima was denied a Quarterfinals spot today by Kamitani but still has a key tiebreaker because she beat Sera already. Yagami & Thekla are now out because of tiebreakers while Kashima stayed alive largely because she’s now beaten Kamitani and also Hanan but would lose to Sera. Kamitani has Suzuki next but needs help to advance before her final match but perhaps fortunately for her it’s Yagami. Sera is in a bad spot because she only has one match left while Suzuki & Hanan have two. Interestingly, both have the same remaining foes-Yagami & Kamitani-and remember the Suzuki-Hanan result was a draw so if they tie for one spot we’ll probably need a rematch.

The next event is Friday at Sendai Pit in Sendai with the Red Blocks. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

Stardom 8/18/24 Results (Updated)

Stardom continued the 5 STAR GP today in Kobe with the Red Blocks.

Today’s event was held at Kobe Art Center in Kobe and can be watched on demand on Stardom World.

The announced paid attendance was 501.

5 STAR GP Red Block:
Match 1: Block A-Maika beat Ruaka.

Match 2; Block A-Hazuki beat Yuna Mizumori.

Match 3: Block B-Mei Seira beat Saya Iida.

Match 4 (non-tournament): Natsuko Tora beat Aya Sakura.

Match 5: Block A-Natsupoi beat Konami.

Match 6: Block B-Momo Watanabe beat Tam Nakano.

Main Event; Block B-AZM beat Mayu Iwatani. Afterwards, AZM hinted at wanting a rematch for the IWGP Women’s Championship if she wins the tournament.

The next event is Tuesday at Osaka Prefecfural Gym 2 in Osaka. Live streaming on Stardom World will begin at 2:30 AM PT/5:30 AM ET.

UPDATE: Current 5STAR GP Standings:
Red Block A:
1-Maika, 4-0, 8 pts
2-Hazuki, 3-1, 6 pts
3-Natsupoi, 3-1, 6 pts
4-Aimi, 2-1-1, 5 pts
5-Konami, 2-3, 4 pts (OUT)
6-Ruaka, 0-4-1, 1 pt (OUT)
7-Yuna Mizumori, 0-4, 0 pts (OUT)

Red Block B:
1-AZM, 3-0-2, 8 pts
2-Iwatani, 3-1, 6 pts
3-Seira, 2-0-2, 6 pts
4-Tomoka Inaba, 2-0-2, 6 pts
5-Iida, 1-3, 2 pts (OUT)
6-Watanabe, 1-4, 2 pts (OUT)
7-Nakano, 0-4, 0 pts (OUT)

Blue Block A:
1-Saori Anou, 2-1-1, 5 pts
2-Starlight Kid, 2-1-1, 5 pts
3-Syuti, 2-1, 4 pts
4-Gina, 2-1, 4 pts
5-Koguma, 1-2, 2 pts
6-Miyu Amasaki, 1-2, 2 pts
7-Anna Jay, 1-3, 2 pts

Blue Block B:
1-Saya Kamitani, 3-0, 6 pts
2-Hanan, 2-1-1, 5 pts
3-Risa Sera, 2-2, 4 pts
4-Suzu Suzuki, 1-1-1, 3 pts
5-Thekla, 1-2, 2 pts
6-Ranna Yagami, 1-2, 2 pts
7-Saki Kashima, 1-3, 2 pts (OUT)

The top 2 in each block advance to the Quarterfinals. In Red Block A, Maika controls her own destiny with Hazuki & Aimi left. Beating one of them puts her into the Quarterfinals, but so will a Natsupoi loss. The only way she doesn’t advance is losing her last two matches plus either Hazuki or Natsupoi winning their last two (they do face each other) and Aimi winning her last two. Mathematically Konami is still in it on tiebreakers, but probably out since she already lost to Maika.
In Red Block B, AZM is in control but could also be hurt by 2 draws and because of that, the only tiebreaker she has for sure is against Iwatani. She had draws against Sera & Inaba so she must beat Iida. Iida is probably out on tiebreakers because she only beat Nakano and has only AZM left among the contenders (her other remaining match is Watanabe).
In Blue Block A, it’s wide open in big part because Anou-Kid was a draw, plus Syuri, Gina & Koguma all have 3 matches left while Anou & Kid only have 2. Anou’s last two are Gina & Koguma, Kid’s last two are Gina & Amasaki. Nobody is mathematically out of it yet.
In Blue Block B, Kamitani has the advantage with 3 matches left. She has Kashima next then Suzuki, and a loss means her chances could come down to Hanan in her final match. Or more simply, Kamitani must win 2 of 3. Hanan has Yagami first and must win. Suzuki also has the advantage of 3 matches left. Kashima is mathematically out because her only potential tiebreaker advantage is against Hanan. Yagami must win out to have any chance. Same for Sera, who has Yagami & Thekla. Thekla lost to Kamitani & Hanan so she must win out plus Kamitani & Hanan must draw in their head-to-head match and lose their other matches.
