Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “Winter Story” LIVE Results (12/14/24) (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro runs their first event of December today, “Winter Story”, starting a light month schedule-wise with just 3 events left this year. Despite the name and typical pattern for the promotion this is basically a house show but with more matches than usual as the focus shifts to the year-opening 1/4 major event. One match in particular is that focus as Miu Watanabe & Mizuki will face off that day for the Princess Of Princess Championship, and they’ll be on opposite sides of a 6-woman tag today. There’s also excitement because Pom Harajuku returns as a champion for the first time in her career, coming off winning the SPW (Setup Pro Wrestling Thailand) All-Asia Championship recently. She’ll defend in a few weeks in a rematch.

Although it won’t affect today’s lineup, it was also announced that Kira Summer is off the event, as well as the next one, due to family reasons (she posted a couple weeks ago on social media that her father died recently and she is back in her native Australia for services and to spend the holidays with her family).

Today’s event will be held at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. Despite having 7 matches instead of the usual 5-6 there are no title matches that will keep the running time around a typical house show length of about 2 hours.

Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Suzume vs. Uta Takami
Yuki Kamifuku & Neko Haruna vs. Raku & Chika Nanase
Rika Tatsumi & Moka Miyamoto vs. Arisu Endo & Ivy Steele
Hyper Misao vs. Yoshiko Hasegawa
Pom Harjauku vs. HIMAWARI
Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Mahiro Kiryu vs. Shoko Nakaima, Yuki Aino & Kaya Toribami
Miu Watanabe, Haru Kazashiro & Toga vs. Mizuki, Wakana Uehara & Shino Suzuki

Updates below will begin at 8 PM PT/11 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to launch 15 minutes before the event.

7:35 PM PT UPDATE: They apparently moved stream launch up to 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET and it’s now started. We should be going to the venue in about 25 minutes.

7:57 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Usually the venue is set up for around 300 for these events (full capacity is just under 400), I haven’t been able to see much seating-wise yet as it’s probably hard camera only but I’m guessing it’ll be around 225. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 223)

When we join Sayurti Namba is already in the ring helping fans in attendance with a lottery to determine matches for an upcoming event (this is for the 12/21 event, which will have 10 single matches). Once finished they get into the opening announcements. Also posted on the socials were the first 3 teams for the 2025 Futari-wa Princess Max Heart Tournament, the annual tag team tournament…and they announced the only one that matters to me and makes me very happy to report…WASTELAND POM PARTY!!! (Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku)
Here are the 12/21 matches via the fan lottery: Moka Miyamoto vs. Ivy Steele, Shino Suzuki vs. Raku, Miyu Yamashita vs. Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi vs. Shoko Nakajima, Chika Nanase vs. Uta Takami, Maki Itoh vs. Toga, Mahiro Kiryu vs. Yoshiko Hasegawa, Yuki Kamifuku vs. Yuki Aino, Neko Haruna vs. Wakana Uehara, Hyper Misao vs. Haru Kazashiro.

The matches should begin around 8:15 PM PT/11:15 PM ET.

The matches begin at 8:17 PM PT/11:17 PM ET.

Match 1: Suzume vs. Uta Takami. 15 minute time limit
Result: Suzume beat Uta Takami

Match 2: Yuki Kamifuku & Neko Haruna vs. Raku & Chika Nanase. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Kamifuku & Neko Haruna beat Raku & Chika Nanase. Haruna pinned Nanase after Cat Scratch.

Match 3: Rika Tatsumi & Moka Miyamoto vs. Arisu Endo & Ivy Steele. 20 minute time limit
Result: Rika Tatsumi & Moka Miyamoto beat Arisu Endo & Ivy Steele. Miyamoto beat Steele with Rashomon. This was Steele’s TJPW debut (she is from Europe) and she was very well received by the fans. She was very excited too, almost too much during entrance.

Match 4: Hyper Misao vs. Yoshiko Hasegawa. 15 minute time limit
Result: Hyper Misao beat Yoshiko Hasegawa. Afterwards, Misao with microphone. Promo seemed to be about DDT & TJPW together, and went on until she was interrupted by Super Sasadango Machine. Seems to be leading to a potential comedy match in DDT as I heard Machine mention Antonio Honda. Possibly could happen at Ultimate Party 2024 later this month at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo for DDT’s year-end blowout event. They went on until Rika Tatsumi snuck in and neck pinched Machine to stun him for a beatdown by Misao & Tatsumi. Some unlucky guy in a suit-Tetsuya Koda actually-then got sent into the ring for a Machine beatdown which brought Misao & Tatsumi back out…to beat down poor Koda more. Machine then left as Misao & Tatsumi finished the promo. Sounds like potentially them vs. Machine & Honda at Ryogoku. Updates to follow. Classic DDT comedy segment. Went long enough to all but insure the event hits the “normal” about 2 hour house show runtime.

Match 5: Pom Harjauku vs. HIMAWARI. 15 minute time limit
Result: Pom Harajuku beat HIMAWARI. During her intro, Harajuku accidentally dropped her title belt into the floor below. Even as a champion, Pom Still Gonna Pom. But we still love her nonetheless.

Match 6: Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Mahiro Kiryu vs. Shoko Nakaima, Yuki Aino & Kaya Toribami. 20 minute time limit
Result: MIyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Mahiro Kiryu beat Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Aino & Kaya Toribami. Yamashita pinned Toribami after Attitude Adjustment (after inadvertently Skull Kicking Kiryu)..

Main Event: Miu Watanabe, Haru Kazashiro & Toga vs. Mizuki, Wakana Uehara & Shino Suzuki. 20 minute time limit
Result: Miu Watanabe, Haru Kazashiro & Toga beat Mizuki, Wakana Uehara & Shino Suzuki. Watanabe pinned Suzuki after a double Teardrop on Suzuki & Mizuki..

The next event is “Se-no, Merry Christmas! 2024” on 12/21 at Tama Mirai Messe in Tokyo. In addition to the 10 single matches determined today, which all have 7 minute time limits, there will be 2 tag matches with 10 minute time limits. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 12/20 at 9 PM PT/midnight ET.

UPDATE: The DDT-TJPW match for 12/28 is now official. It will be Machine. Honda & Toru Owashi vs. Misao, Tatsumi & Harajuku.
