Tokyo Joshi Pro begins their July today with the last house show before their annual July blowout event. That means it’s the last time champions & challengers will be on opposite sides before their respective title matches, but it also marks the beginning of the Yuki Kamifuku retirement tour. Kamifuku shocked everyone by announcing her retirement earlier this week, calling it a career at the end of the year and will focus on having fun & good matches instead of contending for titles (and she also opted out of the upcoming Tokyo Princess Cup Tournament too). This also may be the last appearance by Kira Summer for a month or two as she prepares to return home to Australia for her first wrestling tour. She announced her first match today on social media, and fittingly it’s against Miki Fortune, her real-life older sister.
Today’s event will be held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. There are 6 matches planned so this will be on the slightly shorter side for a standard house show and probably won’t go more than 2 hours (if every match went the distance it would top out at roughly that), closer to 1 3/4 hours I think.
Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Yuki Kamifuku vs. Raku & Kira Summer in a 3-way
Mizuki & Uta Takami vs. Pom Harajuku & Mahiro Kiryu
Haru Kazashiro & Chika Nanase vs. Ren Konatsu & Shion Kanzaki
Suzume & Arisu Endo vs. Wakana Uehara & Toga
Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & HIMAWARI vs. Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao & Yuki Aino
Yuki Arai & Mifu Ashida vs. Miyu Yamashita & Sakura Hattori
