DDT held a special free event alongside boat races today in Tokyo.
Today’s event was held at Boat Race Tamagawa in Tokyo and may be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.
This was a free event for boat race attendees so there would have been no paid attendance (except for the races).
Match 1: Yukio Naya, Viento Levante & Takao Soma beat Junta Miyawaki, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Yuki Ishida. Naya pinned Matsunaga after The World’s Largest Backdrop.
Match 2: Takeshi Masada & Yuya Koroku beat Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata in 6 seconds. Masada pinned Hirata after a big boot. Which led to…
Match 2 (again): Takeshi Masada & Yuya Koroku beat Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata. Masada pinned Hirata.
Match 3: Daisuke Sasaki, Hideki Okatani, MJ Paul & Illusion beat Chris Brookes, HARASHIMA, Antonio Honda & Hinata Kasai. Okayani pinned Kasai after a skewered Claymore.
Match 4: MAO & KANON beat Naomi Yoshimura & Kazuma Sumi. MAO pinned Sumi.
Main Event: Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & To-y beat Sanshiro Takagi, Jun Akiyama & Masami Inahata. To-y pinned Inahata. Afterwards, the main event participants stuck around to watch the remaining races with fans and see if their bets won. It sounded like, for the most part, they did not. Always next time!
