Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “The Mountain Top 2022” Results (10/29/22)

Tokyo Joshi Pro heads to Osaka today for a mid-major event, heading to the city for the first time in about 6 months. In addition to All Elite Wrestling’s Willow Nightingale getting to make her Japan debut (it was postponed from earlier this year due to visa issues), the main event features International Princess Champion Miu Watanabe vs. Moka Miyamoto for the title. Miyamoto has gotten the better of Watanabe over the last month, but all in tag matches and never pinning the champion. Now that it’s one-on-one, can the Up Up Girl back up her stunning title-winning upset with that important first successful defense?

Today’s event will be held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. It’s not yet known if there will be commentary but I am assuming there will be Japanese commentary. This is the last part of a live wrestling tripleheader along with New Japan’s PPV and All Elite Wrestling Rampage, so it you’re trying to last the whole thing in the eastern US have plenty of caffeine ready for this overnighter, I anticipate this event running about 2 1/2 hours. (It went exactly 2 hours)

Today’s lineup:
Yuki Aino & Raku vs. Nao Kakuta & Yoshiko Hasegawa
Miyu Yamashita & Juria Nagano vs. Mahiro Kiryu & Kaya Toribami
Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku vs. Mizuki, Suzume & Neko Haruna
Rika Tatsumi & Yuki Arai vs. Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo
Yuka Sakazaki & Willow Nightingale vs. Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku
International Princess Champion Miu Watanabe vs. Moka Miyamoto for the title

11:25 PM ET UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka, Japan. It sounds like vocal cheering is allowed today. There is no commentary.

The announced paid attendance was 400, a legit sellout. Further reduced max capacity due to vocal cheering allowed, plus Osaka has been stricter than most about capacity limits since the pandemic began. Also, the view on the stream was from the hard camera only despite at least one video cameraman at ringside when the matches began.

During the opening announcements, Saki Akai is announced for the 11/13 event in Kyoto. Hopefully that means more AA Eye Candy!
