AEW Collision 1/6/24 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Collision in Charlotte, NC:

Ric Flair comes out. Then Darby Allin & Sting follow.

Match 1: Darby Allin & Sting vs. The Workhorsemen
Result: Darby Allin & Sting beat The Workhorsemen. Borderline squash.

Match 2: AEW Continental Champion Eddie Kingston vs. Trent Beretta for the title/Continental Crown
Result: AEW Continental Champion Eddie Kingston beat Trent Beretta to retain the titles/Continental Crown. STRONG Opewneight Championship V9 for Kingston. Next up: Gabriel Kidd at New Japan’s event next week in San Jose, CA, which was announced late yesterday and thus potentially spoiled this.

Match 3: ROH Tag Team Champions The Kingdom vs. Komander & Bryan Keith in a NON-TITLE match. 10 Minute time limit
Result: The Kingdom beat Komander & Bryan Keith. Matt Taven pinned Keith. Proving Ground match, meaning Komander & Keith would’ve gotten a rematch for the titles with a win or time limit draw.

Adam Copeland promo. He still can’t get his Edge back or let go of his issues with Christian Cage so he has an open challenge to begin his path back to another AEW TNT Championship match. Maria Kanellis comes out with Griff Garrison & Cole Karter. Which led to…
Match 4: Adam Copeland vs. Griff Garrison
Result: Adam Copeland beat Griff Garrison by submission

Match 5: Skye Blue vs. Kiera Hogan
Result: Skye Blue beat Kiera Hogan by submission

Match 6: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Andrew Everett
Result: Claudio Castagnoli beat Andrew Everett

Ricky Starks & Big Bill interviewed. Starks faces Sammy Guevara Wednesday on Dynamite then Bill says they will defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against Guevara & Chris Jericho in a street fight next Saturday at Battle Of The Belts 9. That will air live immediately after Collision.

Main Event: House Of Black (Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews) vs. FTR
Result: FTR beat House Of Black. Dax Harwood pinned Matthews. Brody King joined for heel beatdown after Daniel Garcia had thwarted his interference attempt earlier.

This was barely a show that happened. Except for the main event I didn’t care for anything and the Kingston-Beretta result had already been spoiled by New Japan ahead of their US event next week.
