AEW Collision 6/17/23 Results (SPOILERS!)

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Collision premiere in Chicago, IL (SPOILERS for west feed viewers, no live simulcast on TNT):

CM Punk promo opens the show. Borderline pipe bomb and Sorry, Not Sorry but almost nothing about Brawl Out save for a veiled cheap shot at The Young Bucks. (We may never hear much more about that for legal reasons)

Luchasaurus beat AEW TNT Champion Wardlow to become THE NEW AEW TNT CHAMPION! Christian Cage interference helped.

Andrade El Idolo beat Buddy Matthews.

Miro beat Tony Nese. Squash.

Skye Blue & Willow Nightingale beat Toni Storm & Ruby Soho. Blue pinned Soho after a Canadian Destroyer. (Hometown win for Blue)

The Acclaimed did scissoring with Tony Schiavone.

XM Punk & FTR beat Jay White, Juice Robinson & Samoa Joe. Punk pinned Robinson after GTS. This went about 30 minutes.

A good premiere overall, The Acclaimed segment of course was the only thing I didn’t really like. Happy that Miro is back. Give it a few weeks to see what direction it may go in but it’s a nice start. Jim Ross joined commentary for the main event but his voice sounded really bad (hoarse), apparently from a lot of interviews/media work. But of course Good Ol’ JR gets a free pass.

Wednesday on Dynamite in Chicago (WinTrust Arena): Chris Jericho/Sammy Guevara/Minoru Suzuki vs. Action Andretti/Darius Martin/AR Fox, AEW TBS Champion Kris Statlander vs. Taya Valkyrie for the title, Orange Cassidy/Katsuyori Shibata vs. Daniel Garcia/Zack Sabre Jr., Hardys vs. Gunn Club, Jeff Jarrett vs. Mark Briscoe in a Concession Stand Brawl and a Blind Eliminator Tournament for an AEW Tag Team Title shot.
