New Japan continued the Super Junior Tag League today with the penultimate day of Block A, the second of a 3-day Niigata stretch.
Today’s event was held at Sado City General Gym in Niigata and can be watched on demand on New Japan World.
The announced paid attendance was 589.
Match 1: Zane Jay & Shoma Kato beat Tatsuya Matsumoto & Masatora Yasuda. Kato beat Matsumoto.
Match 2: OSKAR (The Grouch), Yuto Ice (Ice Baby), Robbie X & Taiji Ishimori beat Katsuya Murashima, KUUKAI, Toru Yano & El Desperado. Ice pinned Murashima after Ice High.
Match 3: Boltin Oleg, YAMATO (Dragon Gate) & Tiger Mask beat Hartley Jackson, Kosei Fujita & Robbie Eagles. Oleg pinned Jackson after Kamikaze.
Match 4: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Yuki Yoshioka (Dragon Gate) & KUSHIDA beat Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Tanahashi pinned Takahashi after High Fly Flow.

Only the winners advance to the Finals. It’s as simple as can be for the final day of the block-the Wato/Yoh-Sho/DOUKI winner advances. If it’s a draw, they’ll have to do it again.

In other news, the promotion announced that a special event commemorating the 10th anniversary of the retirement of Geni’chiro Tenryu, to likely feature Shingo Takagi & Zack Sabre Jr. based on promo graphics, will be streamed LIVE on New Japan World on 11/3 beginning at 1:30 AM PT/4:30 AM ET and available for all paid monthly subscribers (it’s not a PPV). It will be in Japanese only. The event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
