One of the great unsolved mysteries of women’s pro wrestling is why former Tokyo Joshi Pro wrestler Hikari Noa decided to walk away in 2024 in her potential prime after announcing she was taking an indefinite leave of absence. She silently decided not to return and completely disappeared from social media before resurfacing in April. Today we didn’t really get any answers but we got a resurrection-Noa returned to wrestling at a Sayaka Unagi Produced independent event. I don’t have results yet and no word on when she will next compete but Noa indicated she will do an online autograph signing Wednesday and Unagi is hinting at a major event for her 40th birthday on 9/2. We’ll see what happens but for now it’s good to see Noa back in wrestling even if we never get answers about why she walked away from TJPW and Up Up Girls.
UPDATE: We won’t have to wait long to see Noa wrestle again. She has been added to the GLEAT 5th Anniversary Event on 7/1 at SGC Hall Ariake in Tokyo. She will team with Unagi, Misa Kagura & Ayame Sasamura to face MICHIKO Marika Kobashi, Azusa Inaba & Chanyota. That event will probably be streamed on YouTube.
After that, she could be part of a pair of Unagi produced events on 8/8 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo, so it sounds like her plans are to work with Unagi for now with another event here & there
