In announcements made on social media and YouTube within the last hour, Tokyo Joshi Pro announced wrestler Mifu Ashida is joining the promotion effective today (1/1 Japan time). From what I saw on her social media accounts, Ashida is also an actress & entertainer before getting into wrestling, and most recently was with Ice Ribbon and just finished up with them today.
Ashida, 27, is in her second year as a wrestler, having debuted in Ice Ribbon in August 2023 and was a cheerleader in high school, even competing in the largest competition in the US where she finished 3rd. After being a Miss Teen Japan 2013 finalist, she went into the entertainment industry and was also a JAPAN AMBASSADOR 2024 runner-up. Her wrestling debut came following an audition for a pro wrestling-themed movie.
At this time she is not scheduled for TJPW’s year-opening event Saturday but with “8-10 matches scheduled” and 8 already set there is a possibility she is a late addition, or at the very least will appear to greet the fans. (Correction: She will be at the event on 1/4)
