Pro Wrestling NOAH kicked off their August schedule with DEPARTURE 2022, a standalone event representing the final event before N-1 VICTORY 2022 begins.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. You can also watch the first match FOR FREE on YouTube.
The announced paid attendance was 616.
Match 1: Masa Kitamiya & Mohammed Yone beat Masaaki Mochizuki & Shuhei Taniguchi. Kitamiya pinned Taniguchi after a Saito suplex.
Match 2: Yoshinari Ogawa, Yuya Susumu & Kai Fujimura beat NOSAWA Rongai, Eita & Super Crazy. Fujimura pinned NOSAWA. HUGE.
Match 3: Katsuhiko Nakajima & Manabu Soya beat Anthony Greene & Stallion Rogers. Nakajima pinned Rogers after Vertical Spike.
Match 4: Ninja Mack, Daisuke Harada & Seiki Yoshioka beat Dante Leon, Atsushi Kotoge & YO-HEY. Mack pinned Kotoge after Ninja Bomb.
Match 5: Kaito Kiyomiya, El Hijo Del Santo (Mexico), Ultimo Dragon & Alejandro beat Kenoh, Tadasuke, Hajime Ohara & Hi69. Santo pinned Ohara.
Match 6: Kinya Okada beat Yoshiki Inamura. As a result, Okada qualifies for N-1 VICTORY.
Match 7: Naomichi Matufuji Return Match-Naomichi Marufuji, Go Shiozaki & Takashi Sugiura beat Satoshi Kojima, Masato Tanaka & Daiki Inaba. Shiozaki pinned Inaba after Go Lariat.
Main Event: GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion HAYATA beat Shuji Kondo to retain the title. V4 for HAYATA.
Next up is the N-1 VICTORY 2022 Tournament beginning Thursday at Yokohama Budokan in Yokohama. This will be an ABEMA-ONLY live broadcast but will be available live on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in English. Live streaming will begin at 2:30 AM ET/Wednesday at 11:30 PM PT.
In other news, The Great Muta (Keiji Muto) will appear at the final event of the tournament on 9/3 at Osaka Prefectural Gym). It will be Muta’s final Osaka appearance.
UPDATE: Thatcher is now out of N-1 VICTORY due to visa issues. Okada is the replacement.
