Pro Wrestling NOAH kicks off their final week of events for 2022 today with the first of 3 special themed events this week, NEW HOPE. This is a short event with just 5 matches scheduled that will place more spotlight on the younger, more inexperienced members of the roster who haven’t gotten as much experience as ideal the last couple years due to the pandemic. They’ll get to face some of NOAH’s top stars in an event where vocal cheering will also be allowed. It should be a nice appetizer for the second half of today’s doubleheader-after this event is over, come back a couple hours later for a Kongo Produced event featuring the promotion’s top heel faction. The main event hasn’t been revealed.
Today’s event will be held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There probably will be no commentary. With the event later and just 5 matches this won’t be a long event-I would expect the total running time, barring marathon matches, to be less than 2 hours.
Today’s lineup:
Shoki Kitamura (Tochigi Pro Wrestling) vs. Atsushi Kotoge
Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba vs. Yoshiki Inamura & Taishi Ozawa
Naomichi Marufuji vs. Alejandro
Kaito Kiyomiya & AMAKUSA vs. Jack Morris & Dante Leon
Yasutaka Yano vs. Satoshi Kojima

Updates below will begin at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
10 PM ET UPDATE: Live results begin now.
We are LIVE from Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary.
The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s a small venue and vocal cheering is allowed so it’ll be smaller than usual in spite of that, but looks full or close to it. Probably right around 200. We may have only hard-camera views today.
Match 1: Shoki Kitamura (Tochigi Pro Wrestling) vs. Atsushi Kotoge. 15 minute time limit
Result: Time Limit Draw
Match 2: Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba vs. Yoshiki Inamura & Taishi Ozawa. 20 minute time limit
Result: Masa Kitamiya & Daiki Inaba beat Yoshiki Inamura & Taishi Ozawa. Inaba beat Ozawa with a modified arm & facelock. Almost went the time limit again.
Match 3: Naomichi Marufuji vs. Alejandro. 30 minute time limit
Result: Naomichi Marufuji beat Alejandro.
Match 4: Kaito Kiyomiya & AMAKUSA vs. Jack Morris & Dante Leon. 45 minute time limit
Result: Jack Morris & Dante Leon beat Kaito Kiyomiya & AMAKUSA. Leon pinned AMAKUSA after a twisting diving senton.
Main Event: Yasutaka Yano vs. Satoshi Kojima. 1 Hour time limit
Result: Satoshi Kojima beat Yasutaka Yano
If you don’t mind only having the hard camera perspective, this was a good show. 5 solid matches crammed into 100 minutes. If you missed it live, it’s worth a watch on demand.
The next event is a Kongo Produced event later today. That event is a legit advance sellout. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 3:30 AM ET/12:30 AM PT.
UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 205. With reduced capacity for vocal cheering that was probably in the 80-85% full range.
