Of note: As the only one with a winning record clinched so far, it’s looking a little more like Onosato’s to lose. The trailing pack is down to 4 at 7-2, with both Sekiwake and a pair of Kise men hanging in there. Elsewhere, the current Yokozuna bid is over for Kirishima, he is now 5-4 and 11-4 isn’t going to do it. At the bottom, Ichiyamamoto became the first demotion of the tournament at 1-8. Tomorrow Onosato faces Yoshinofuji. Arashifuji is the Juryo man up for the day as they keep working down the list, he is currently 4-5 at J5.

Of note: Kagayaki now has a 2 win lead after avoiding being Kayo’d today as Daiseizan makes it 3 in the 7-2 group along with Kitanowaka. And that’s 4 straight wins for Tamawashi as the Iron Man improved to 5-4 and is keeping bis top tier return bid alive. Enho lost again to fall to 4-5 and will try to hand Kagayaki his first loss tomorrow. No demotions yet but Hatsuyama & Sadanoumi could be first tomorrow. Nishinoryu is the Makushita man up tomorrow, he is 2-3 at Ms1.
Lower tier notes: Asahifuji has all but clinched promotion to Juryo in November by winning today to go to 4-1. With 3 left in Makushita at 5-0 he’s not out of the championship chase yet. The Sandanme is down to the final 4 at 5-0. The Jonidan has 7 at 4-0 while the Jonokuchi has just one at 5-0 while Eisei clinched promotion in his debut tournament with a 4th straight win today, meaning he’ll move up to Jonidan in November.
