AEW Dynamite 5/17/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Houston, TX:

Just after the start of the second hour, commentary announced to the TV viewers breaking news-Superstar Billy Graham, a wrestling & WWF/E Hall Of Famer, has died at 79. He was dealing with multiple serious medical issues.

Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin beat Lee Moriarty & Big Bill. Allin pinned Moriarty.

The Young Bucks arrive as Blackpool Combat Club sneak attack them.

Sammy Guevara beat Exodus Prime. Squash.

Jeff Jarrett & crew call out FTR, leading to a beatdown and the AEW debut of Karen Jarrett, who low blows Cash Wheeler.

Euby Soho & Toni Storm beat Britt Baker & Hikaru Shida. Storm pinned Baker after Storm Zero. This was to have been Jamie Hayter, Baker & Shida vs. Saraya, Soho & Storm but Hayter was not medically cleared.

Tony Khan makes a follow-up announcement from today’s Collision announcement by TNT, which is the dates for the 2nd-7th episodes. Most in Canada with the 7/1 episode being TAPED (taping on 6/29) except for the 7th in Newark, NJ. Not announced: The location for the premiere, widely expected to be in Chicago. That will come next week. May have something to do with CM Punk.

In a Falls Count Anywhere match where Adam Cole and JAS were banned from the building, Roderick Strong beat Chris Jericho. It went outside the building at the end, meaning Cole could get involved and did.

Jungle Boy beat Rush.

Jay White beat Ricky Starks by DQ. Chair use. This was the main event.

Don Callis interview was interrupted almost immediately by Kenny Omega. BCC and The Elite came out for a big brawl and Adam Page joined in, siding with The Elite. He challenged BCC to Anarchy In The Arena at Double Or Nothing.

A good show overall but one’s view will ultimately be skewed by their expectations for the Khan follow-up announcement, namely no Punk.

Friday on Rampage at 6:30 PM ET/3:30 PM PT: BCC vs. Best Friends & Bandido, The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn vs. CVarsity Athletes, Bishop Kaun vs. Dustin Rhodes, perhaps a Jade Cargill open challenge and The Hardys promo. Early air time is due to NBA Playoffs on TNT. Next week’s Rampage is likely to be pre-empted because of NHL Playoffs IF the Eastern Conference Finals is not a 4 game sweep (next Friday on TNT would be a Game 5 if needed).

Next week: ROH Tag Team Champions Lucha Bros vs. Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta for the titles. This is the followup from the Double Jeopardy match last week.

Confirmed for Double Or Nothing: AEW TNT Champion Wardlow vs. Christian Cage in a Ladder Match for the title, AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter vs. Toni Storm for the title, a 21 Man Blackjack Battle Royal for the AEW International Championship (Orange Cassidy vs. 20 others) and more.

AEW Dynamite 5/10/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Detroit, MI:

Claudio Castagnoli beat Rey Fenix in a Double Jeopardy Match. As a result, Castagnoli and a partner of his choice get a future match against Lucha Bros for the ROH Tag Team Titles. Had Fenix won, he would’ve gotten a rematch later for the ROH World Title.

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy beat Daniel Garcia to retain the title.

MIRO IS HERE! And so is Thunder Rosa!

In a No Holds Barred Match, Julia Hart beat Anna Jay.A.S.

AEW Trios Champions House Of Black beat Best Friends & Bandido to retain the titles. Brody King pinned Chuck Taylor after Dante’s Inferno. The champs have what are called House Rules for title matches now-20 counts outside the ring are enforced, no rope breaks, DQs are enforced, and the challengers can choose one rule. They chose witches are banned from ringside, meaning no Julia Hart. After the match, Orange Cassidy was seen laid out backstage at the hands of Kyle Fletcher (New Japan), who seems to be the next International Championship challenger.

In a Steel Cage Match, Jon Moxley beat Kenny Omega. Don Callis turned on Omega at the end to set up the result.

A better show than in recent weeks but a little short of PPV quality. Nothing terrible though, main event is must-see and it sets up next week. But seeing Miro back had me very excited.

This week on Rampage airing Saturday at 10 PM ET/PT: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn vs. The Butcher, The Blade & Kip Sabian, Toni Storm vs. Allysin Kay, Kyle Fletcher vs. Action Andretti and Swerve Strickland & Brian Cage vs. John Silver & Alex Reynolds.

Next week: Ricky Starks vs. Jay White, Toni Storm/Ruby Soho/Saraya vs. Britt Baker/Jamie Hayter/Hikaru Shida, Roderick Strong vs. Chris Jericho with Adam Cole & JAS banned from ringside and Tony Khan’s next major announcement. Given WBD Upfronts (media previews of the coming TV season) are that morning it’s all but guaranteed to relate to TV, possibly confirming the long-rumored new Saturday TV show called Collision.

AEW Dynamite 5/3/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Baltimore, MD:

Orange Cassidy, Bandido, Adam Cole & Roderick Strong beat Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, Daniel Garcia & Jake Hager. Cole pinned Parker after BOOM. Chris Jericho was on commentary. After the match, Cole took out Jericho AND the stage behind commentary. Cole then was forced out of the arena by security as Jericho kept taunting him, which allowed Britt Baker to sneak in and b*tch slap Jericho.

Saraya beat Willow Nightingale. Hikaru Shida returned post-match and appeared to align with The Outcasts, but it was a ruse as Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter hit the ring and Shida laid out The Outcasts.

The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn won the Tres De Mayo Trios Battle Royal, last eliminating The Butcher & The Blade & Kip Sabian. Other teams entered: Lucha Bros & El Hijo De Vikingo, Varsity Athletes, Dark Order, Powerhouse Hobbs & QT Marshall & Aaron Solo.

Wardlow beat Logan LeRoux. Squash. Wardlow called out Luchasaurus for an open challenge AEW TNT Title match but Christian Cage refused.

Ricky Starks beat Juice Robinson.

Darby Allin & Jungle Boy beat MJF & Sammy Guevara. Allin pinned Guevara after Coffin Drop. As a result, the Double Or Nothing Main Event is now AEW World Champion MJF vs. Guevara, Allin & Jungle Boy in a 4-way for the title (ie had been MJF-Guevara).

Another average show overall saved from being meh by the last two matches which were good. The main event wasn’t a great match but the storytelling and mind games were easily A+ material and was a lot of fun to watch.

Friday on Rampage now at 6:30 PM ET/3:30 PM PT: Mark Briscoe vs. Preston Vance, Jade Cargill vs. TBA, Lucha Bros/Vikingo vs. Hobbs/Marshall/Solo and The Firm Deletion at The Hardy Compound (The Hardys, Isaiah Kassidy & Hook vs. Big Bill, Ethan Page, Lee Moriarty & Stokely Hathaway), which likely will be a cinematic match.

Next week: Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega in a Steel Cage Match, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy vs. Daniel Garcia for the title and an FTR promo.

In other AEW news, there are now rumors that Dark, the weekly YouTube program on Tuesdays, has either been cancelled or is on indefinite hiatus. This is apparently because as part of the deal for the rumored new Saturday AEW TV show (announcement being held up by CM Punk status) all AEW programming going forward will only be on WBD TV networks so no YouTube. Ring Of Honor likely would not be affected and would remain on HonorClub. This all is not yet official.

AEW Dynamite 4/26/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Sunrise, FL (Ft. Lauderdale area):
AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy beat Bandido to retain the title.

Jeff Jarrett beat Dax Harwood.

Tony Khan’s announcement was the return of the Owen Hart Cup Tournament. Starts at Double Or Nothing in May then continues in Canada including at Forbidden Door 2 in June. Finals at Calgary debut in July.

Wardlow beat a jobber. Squash.

Sammy Guevara beat Darby Allin by DQ. Skateboard use thanks in part to MJF. As a result, Guevara will face MJF for the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing. Unless Allin & Jungle Boy beat MJF & Guevara in a tag match next week-if that happens, the title match becomes a 4-way with Allin & Jungle Boy included.

Adam Cole calls out Chris Jericho. Jericho sends out JAS for the beatdown which includes Orange Cassidy & Bandido when they try to make the save. Roderick Strong then comes out to clean house and reunite with Cole. After this, AEW announced Strong has signed with them.

AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill beat Taya Valkyrie to retain the title. 56-0. Valkyrie would have been DQ’d had she used Road To Valhalla aka Jaded. Cargill shockingly won with a rollup.

Kenny Omega & Konosuke Takeshita beat The Butcher & The Blade. Takeshita pinned Butcher after a knee strike. Afterwards, BCC tried to recruit Takeshita but he refused, leading to a screwdriver-fueled beatdown that continued into a brief overrun as the show ended.

An average show tonight that was billed as “massive”. Allin-Guevara was a great match despite the ending.

Friday on Rampage at 5:30 PM ET/2:30 PM PT: Ricky Starks & Shawn Spears vs. Jay White & Juice Robinson, Keith Lee & Dustin Rhodes vs. TBA, The Outcasts promo, Anna Jay.A.S. vs. Ashley D’Amboise, Cash Wheeler vs. Jay Lethal & The Acclaimed promo.

Next week: MJF & Sammy Guevara vs. Jungle Boy & Darby Allin with Allin & Jungle Boy in the Double Or Nothing Main Event if they win (if they don’t, it’s still MJF-Guevara) and Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy & Bandido vs. JAS. More TBA on Rampage.

AEW Dynamite 4/19/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Pittsburgh, PA, which aired LIVE NATIONWIDE due to live soccer on TBS at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT thus pre-empting the taped west coast airing (simulcast of US men vs. Mexico, which also streamed on HBO Max):
Jungle Boy/Sammy Guevara/Darby Allin/MJF promo opens. This leads to MJF announcing a Four Pillars Tournament between the other 3 where the winner gets an AEW World Title shot at Double Or Nothing. Allin wins a random draw to get tonight’s winner next week.

Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter beat Toni Storm & Ruby Soho. Baker beat Soho with Lockjaw.

Wardlow beat AEW TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs to become THE NEW AEW TNT CHAMPION! Arn Anderson was in Wardlow’s corner and helped.

Jay White beat Komander. AEW debut for White. After the match, Tony Khan announced on Twitter that AEW has signed Komander.

Chris Jericho-Adam Cole confrontation ends with Jericho & Daneil Garvia beating down Cole and The Outcasts joining in, leading to Saraya beating Baker repeatedly with a Singapore cane while Cole was handcuffed to the ropes.

The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn beat Angelo Parker, Matt Menard & Jake Hager. Max Caster pinned Parker after Mic Drop. Had JAS won, The Acclaimed would’ve had to join JAS until Double Or Nothing.

Sammy Guevara beat Jungle Boy by countout. MJF interference prevented Jungle Boy from beating the countout. As a result, Guevara will face Darby Allin next week with the winner facing MJF for the title at Double Or Nothing.

The show was a bit better tonight than the last few weeks, but hour 1 was better overall. All the non-wrestling stuff tonight was great.

Next week: Allin-Guevara and AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill vs. Taya Valkyrie for the title. I think this is where The Streak ends.

Saturday on Rampage (bumped from Friday due to NHL Playoffs on TNT) at 10 PM ET/PT: AAA Mega Champion El Hijo de Vikingo vs. Dralistico for the title, Jeff Jarrett/Jay Lethal/FTR vs. Varsity Athletes, Kiera Hogan vs. Julia Hart and Jon Moxley vs. Christopher Daniels.

AEW Dynamite 4/12/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite from Milwaukee, WI:

Darby Allin beat Swerve Strickland. Afterwards, MJF (whose participation was mandatory) appeared for a long promo segment.

AEW TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs beat Silas Young to retain the title. Squash. Wardlow returned afterwards and wrecked Hobbs’ car outside the venue then went in to fight.

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy beat Buddy Matthews to retain the title. As a result, Cassidy will now defend Sunday in New Japan Pro Wrestling as an injury replacement for Eddie Kingston.

Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli apparently beat Brandon Cutler & Michael Nakazawa although this wasn’t announced. Squash. The Elite returned afterwards.

Ruby Soho & Toni Storm beat Riho & Skye Blue. Storm pinned Blue after Storm Zero.

Chris Jericho beat Keith Lee. Interference from a mystery man, likely Strickland, helped.

This was an average episode overall. It was a show.

Friday on Rampage, which will air at 9:30 PM ET/6:30 PM PT OR after NBA Playoffs coverage on TNT: IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Aussie Open vs. Best Friends for the tites, Taya Valkyrie vs. Emi Sakura, Jungle Boy vs. Shawn Spears, Mark Briscoe/Jeff Jarrett/Jay Lethal/Satnam Singh vs. TBA, FTR promo and Angelo Parker/Matt Menard promo. After this week no NBA pre-emptions are expected for at least 2 weeks. TBA on NHL pre-emptions as their regular season does not finish until Friday.

Next week: LIVE NATIONWIDE! Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter vs. Ruby Soho & Toni Storm and AEW TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Wardlow for the title.

AEW Dynamite 4/5/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Long Island, NY:

Before the show, it was announced that Nigel McGuinness signed with AEW as a commentator. This later led into Tony Khan’s “very important announcement”, which is the long-awaited England debut event will happen in late August at Wembley Stadium in London.

Ricky Starks vs. Juice Robinson never happened. Jay White showed up and laid out Starks. It was later announced on social media that White has signed with AEW.

AEW Trios Champions House Of Black beat Best Friends & Orange Cassidy to retain the titles. BuddY Matthews pinned Chuck Taylor.

AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter beat Riho to retain the title.

MJF Day featured footage of MJF getting the key to Long Island, NY, a full band, speeches from a politician, MJF singing and more until the expected bad end, which came in the form of Jungle Boy disguised as a band member (and looking a lot like The Blade) to set up a fight broken up when Sammy Guevara came out for his match.

Sammy Gueveara beat Komander.

FTW Champion Hook beat Ethan Page to retain the title. Squash. Matt Hardy inadvertently helped Hook win.

Blackpool Combat Club beat 3 jobbers. We didn’t get names before it ended. Wheeler Yuta beat one of them. Squash. Afterwards, Bryan Danielson called out Adam Page and that set up the 4 on 1 BCC beatdown.

FTR beat AEW Tag Team Champions Gunn Club to become THE NEW AEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! If FTR didn’t win the titles they would’ve had to leave AEW, which seemingly confirms they have signed new contracts with AEW.

Fine show but the McGuinness announcement essentially was a spoiler for the huge announcement. Unless you’re an England-based fan it was underwhelming.

Rampage is LIVE Friday followed immediately by Battle Of The Belts 6. Announced for BOTB 6: AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy vs. Dralistico for the title, AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill vs. Billie Starkz for the title and ROH Tag Team Champions Lucha Bros vs. QT Marshall & Powerhouse Hobbs for the titles.

AEW Dynamite 3/29/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in St. Louis, MO:

Jungle Boy beat Matt Hardy. MJF came out afterwards for a long promo segment with Jungle Boy, which was really good.

Blackpool Combat Club beat Dalton Castle & The Boys. Claudio Castagnoli pinned one of the Boys after a sitout powerbomb. Squash. Over in seconds.

IWGP US Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega beat Jeff Cobb to retain the title. Bryan Danielson returned after the match for the first time since his loss at Revolution and helped with a BCC beatdown of Omega post-match, confirming he is still part of the group and is part of BCC’s ongoing heel turn.

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy beat The Butcher to retain the title.

Ruby Soho beat Willow Nightingale. Jamie Hayter returned post-match to save Nightingale, Riho & Skye Blue from a heel beatdown after Riho & Blue initially tried to make the save. Hayter was out the last couple weeks due to visa issues (she had to return to England to resolve these. It happens every couple years for most of the foreigners in the US for all promotions).

Adam Cole beat Daniel Garcia. Britt Baker came out post-match to celebrate with her BayBay and as a final promotion for the premiere of AEW All-Access after the show, which was to focus on Cole & Baker (they have been dating for many years in real life).

Friday on Rampage (back at regular time this week): Sammy Guevara vs. Konosuke Takeshita, Best Friends vs. Kings Of The Black Throne, Taya Valkyrie vs. Marina Shafir and Juice Robinson vs. Action Andretti.

Next week: Robinson vs. Ricky Starks, AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter vs. Riho for the title, AEW Tag Team Champions Gunn Club vs. FTR for the titles and if FTR loses they must leave AEW, BCC appearance and, since we’re back in Long Island, NY, it’s MJF Day! It’s his hometown after all so of course he’ll get the huge face treatment.I just know it’s going to end up being hilarious. Also an early reminder that Rampage will be LIVE next week along with the next Battle Of The Belts (we don’t know yet if that will be live or taped).

AEW Dynamite 3/22/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Independence, MO:

Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy & Sting beat Kip Sabian The Butcher & The Blade. Sting pinned Sabian after Scorpion Deathdrop.

AEW Tag Team Champions Gunn Club beat Top Flight to retain the titles. Austin Gunn pinned Dariua Martin after 3:10 To Yuma. The Kingdom interference set it up. Afterwards, FTR made a challenge for the titles with the stip that if they lose, they would leave AEW.

Jon Moxley beat Stu Grayson.

In a No DQ Match with The Firm banned from ringside, Hook beat Stokely Hathaway. Squash. Comedy match.

Toni Storm beat Skye Blue.

Kenny Omega beat El Hijo Del Vikingo. MOTY contender.

Average show overall excluding an A+ must-watch main event.

Saturday on Rampage (moved to Saturday at 10 PM ET because of soccer Friday night on TNT): Brody King vs. Jake Hager, Taya Valkyrie vs. Leila Grey, The Acclaimed vs. The Kingdom, AEW TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Penta El Zero M for the title and Ricky Starks appears.

Next week: Adam Cole vs. Daniel Garcia. More TBA on Rampage. AEW All-Access premieres after next week’s show.

AEW Dynamite 3/15/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada:
MJF Re-Bar Mitzvah opened the show. The party ended up getting crashed by Jungle Boy, Sammy Guevara & Darby Allin and they all wanted a title shot. Ended with MJF going through a table and a cake. Funny segment but great ending.

Chris Jericho was honored with a street name and other awards from the Maniroba government today. Some footage shown.

Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli beat Evil Uno, Stu Grayson & Adam Page. Moxley beat Grayson with a rear naked choke.

AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill beat Nicole Matthews to retain the title. Squash. 54-0. Afterwards, Taya Valkyrie came out. It was revealed on Twitter a few minutes later that Valkyrie has signed with AEW.

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy beat Jeff Jarrett to retain the title. Formerly the All-Atlantic Championship. This match was garbage to me. God-awful.

QTV Premiere. TMZ-style format with QT Marshall & The Factory. They reveal it was Lee Moriarty who broke into Wardlow’s rental car after Revolution so that whole thing was just a work.

The Outcasets (Toni Storm/Saraya/Ruby Soho) promo. Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter come out to fight and do until they get beaten down but Riho, Skye Blue & Willow Nightingale make the save. Never seen Riho like this.

AEW Trios Champions House Of Black beat The Elite & Jericho Appreciation Society in a 3-way, when Brody King pinned Daniel Garcia, to retain the titles. Excellent main event that went almost 25 minutes.

Light on wrestling to give the main event more time and uneven in quality, but a good show overall.

Friday on Rampage: AEW TNT Champion Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Rey Fenix for the title, Taya Valkyrie vs. TBA and Matt Menard & Angelo Parker vs. Bollywood Boyz. Rampage will air at 11:30 PM ET or after NCAA Basketball coverage on TNT.

Next week: FTW Champion Hook vs. Stokely Hathaway in a No DQ match for the title. The Firm should be banned from ringside. More TBA on Rampage.
