AEW Dynamite 1/24/24 Results
Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Savannah, GA:
Samoa Joe comes out to open. Essentially an open challenge to everyone. Interrupted early on by Hook. Hook says he lost last week but there will be a rematch. Joe called security to send Hook off but Hook instead laid out a few before walking off.
Match 1: Penta El Zero M vs. Adam Page. Joe on commentary.
Result: Adam Page beat Penta El Zero M.
Orange Cassidy interviewed. He’ll defend the AEW International Championship against Roderick Strong at Revolution but won’t sit idle until then. He’ll defend Saturday on Collision against the winner of a match he had Tony Khan put together for Rampage. We’ll find out what that is later (or tomorrow). (It’s Kip Sabian, The Butcher, Komander & El Hijo Del Vikingo)
Match 2: Trent Beretta vs. Wardlow
Result: Wardloe beat Trent Beretta
Saturday on Collision: Bryan Danielson vs. Yuji Nagata (New Japan) and FTR & Daniel Garcia vs. House Of Black in an Elimination Escape The Cage Match.
Toni Storm & Deonna Purrazzo interviewed.
Jon Moxley promo. He’ll face Lee Moriarty Friday on Rampage.
Taya Valkyrie promo. She challenges Purrazzo to a match next week.
Match 3: Swerve Strickland vs. Jeff Hardy
Result: Swerve Strickland beat Jeff Hardy
Adam Page & Swerve Strickland will both be in Dealer’s Choice matches next week, meaning they will pick each other’s match.
Match 4: Thunder Rosa vs. Red Velvet
Result: Thunder Rosa beat Red Velvet
Sting & Darby Allin promo. Allin says they should be #1 in the tag team rankings when they come out again soon and should go for the AEW Tag Team Championship. Sting agrees.
Ricky Starks & Big Bill respond after commercial. Challenge accepted, but we don’t know when. It will be before Revolution though. (During the main event it was announced that match will be in 2 weeks in Phoenix, AZ for Dynamite)
Match 5: AEW Trios Champions The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn vs. Gates Of Agony & Brian Cage for the titles
Reslut: AEW Trios Champions The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn beat Gate Of Agony & Brian Cage to retain the titles. Gunn pinned Bishop Kaun after Mic Drop.
Main Event: Adam Copeland vs. Minoru Suzuki
Result: Adam Copeland beat Minoru Suzuki
Clearly they ran into time management issues going into the last half hour, even with overrun, and had to rush through the last 2 matches which weren’t great anyway. But it was a fine show overall considering the lack of star power, no doubt because Collision on Saturday airs opposite the WWE Royal Rumble PPV.
Also Friday: Christopher Daniels vs. Konosuke Takeshita & Anna Jay vs. Ruby Soho.
Also Saturday: Orange Cassidy vs. Friday’s 4-way winner for the AEW International Championship, Serena Deeb’s first match since March 2022 and Mariah May vs. Lady Frost.
Next week: Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taya Valkyrie and the Dealer’s Choice matches for Adam Page & Swerve Strickland.

ROH 6-Man Tag Team Champions Gates Of Agony & Brian Cage beat Lance Archer & The Righteous to retain the titles. Afterwards, Prince Nana teased a potential match against Jay White & Gunn Club Wednesday on Dynamite. Accepted. Likely for the titles.
Roderick Strong confronted Preston Vance backstage. This could also lead to a match Wednesday

Hook beat Kevin Matthews.
House Of Black beat FTR & Daniel Garcia.

Injury Report: Can It Stop The Path Of Cage?
Wrestlers are sometimes notorious for working through injuries. AEW has seen its fair share of that lately, and in posts on his Instagram today and earlier this week Brian Cage revealed he worked last night’s Dynamite with an injury. Torn lat suffered last week on Dynamite. Doesn’t sound like he’ll take any time off yet, in part because he is part of the current ROH 6-Man Tag Team Champions.
See the original post below, and if you scroll through his feed there’s another video he uploaded offering a better look at the injury:

Here are the quick results for tomorrow’s AEW Rampage in Jacksonville, FL (SPOILERS!):

Here ate the quick results from tonight’s AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, FL (Homecoming house show event at Daily’s Place):
Match 1: Adam Page vs. Claudio Castagnoli
Result: Adam Page beat Claudio Castagnoli
Match 2: Lance Archer, Brian Cage & Gates Of Agony vs. Preston Vance, Adam Copeland, Orange Cassidy & Dustin Rhodes
Result: Preston Vance, Dustin Rhodes, Adam Copeland & Orange Cassidy beat Brian Cage, Gates Of Agony & Lance Archer. Vance pinned Bishop Kaun after Discus Lariat.
Samoa Joe promo. Swerve Strickland interrupts. So does Adam Page. Both make challenges. When they leave and the promo is about to end…so does Hook.
Match 3: Sammy Guevara vs. Ricky Starks
Result: Sammy Guevara beat Ricky Starks. Afterwards, they share a handshake which set up a Big Bill beatdown on Guevara but Chris Jericho quickly made the save. Jericho & Bill brawled all over the place while Jericho’s music played the entire time, which I thought was funny. And actually clever.
Tony Khan makes Joe vs. Hook for the AEW World Championship official for Dynamite next week. Of course the week I have to miss the show! (I will be on vacation and traveling)
Match 4: Thunder Rosa, Willow NIghtingale, Kris Statlander & Anna Jay vs. Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Saraya & Ruby Soho
Result: Thunder Rosa, Willow NIghtingale, Kris Statlander & Anna Jay beat Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Saraya & Ruby Soho. Jay beat Blue with Queenslayer.
Match 5: Roderick Strong vs. a jobber (Bryan Keith)
Result: Roderick Strong beat Bryan Keith. Glorified squash. Adam Cole promo afterwards.
Deonna Purrazzo makes her in-ring debut Saturday on Collision. Possibly against Red Velvet.
Main Event: Darby Allin & Sting vs. Konosuke Takeshita & Powerhouse Hobbs in a Tornado Tag match. Anything goes. TV Time Remaining with 5 minute overrun
Result: Darby Allin & Sting beat Konosuke Takeshita & Powerhouse Hobbs. Sting pinned Hobbs after a scorpion deathdrop through a table. They used the overrun to perhaps reveal the final opponent for Sting at Revolution, but they were interrupted by the returning Young Bucks. They just stared for a couple minute before leaving, enough to hint at perhaps a tag team match assuming Allin hasn’t taken off to climb Mt. Everest yet as he plans to.
While I didn’t really care for the matches announced in advance, Daily’s Place makes for great TV with its layout, fans and ambience so I enjoyed the show just for that. The matches generally were average but not terrible. Page-Castagnoli was the best match of the night and the Joe segment was hot. Skip the main event and the Strong squash which was not announced ahead of time. I give tonight a B- just for the fans & atmosphere.
Friday on Rampage: TBA but maybe Eddie Kingston vs. Wheeler Yuta for the Continental Crown.
Saturday on Collision in Norfolk, VA: Adam Copeland vs. TBA (open challenge), Adam Page appears, Deonna Purrazzo vs. Red Velvet and ROH 6-Man Tag Team Champions Gates Of Agony & Brian Cage vs. Lance Archer & The Righteous for the titles.
On Battle Of The Belts 9 immediately after Collision: AEW Tag Team Champions Ricky Starks & Big Bill vs. Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara for the titles and AEW TBS Champion Julia Hart vs. Anna Jay for the title.
AEW Collision 1/6/24 Results
Here are the quick results from tonight’s AEW Collision in Charlotte, NC:
Ric Flair comes out. Then Darby Allin & Sting follow.
Match 1: Darby Allin & Sting vs. The Workhorsemen
Result: Darby Allin & Sting beat The Workhorsemen. Borderline squash.
Match 2: AEW Continental Champion Eddie Kingston vs. Trent Beretta for the title/Continental Crown
Result: AEW Continental Champion Eddie Kingston beat Trent Beretta to retain the titles/Continental Crown. STRONG Opewneight Championship V9 for Kingston. Next up: Gabriel Kidd at New Japan’s event next week in San Jose, CA, which was announced late yesterday and thus potentially spoiled this.
Match 3: ROH Tag Team Champions The Kingdom vs. Komander & Bryan Keith in a NON-TITLE match. 10 Minute time limit
Result: The Kingdom beat Komander & Bryan Keith. Matt Taven pinned Keith. Proving Ground match, meaning Komander & Keith would’ve gotten a rematch for the titles with a win or time limit draw.
Adam Copeland promo. He still can’t get his Edge back or let go of his issues with Christian Cage so he has an open challenge to begin his path back to another AEW TNT Championship match. Maria Kanellis comes out with Griff Garrison & Cole Karter. Which led to…
Match 4: Adam Copeland vs. Griff Garrison
Result: Adam Copeland beat Griff Garrison by submission
Match 5: Skye Blue vs. Kiera Hogan
Result: Skye Blue beat Kiera Hogan by submission
Match 6: Claudio Castagnoli vs. Andrew Everett
Result: Claudio Castagnoli beat Andrew Everett
Ricky Starks & Big Bill interviewed. Starks faces Sammy Guevara Wednesday on Dynamite then Bill says they will defend the AEW Tag Team Titles against Guevara & Chris Jericho in a street fight next Saturday at Battle Of The Belts 9. That will air live immediately after Collision.
Main Event: House Of Black (Malakai Black & Buddy Matthews) vs. FTR
Result: FTR beat House Of Black. Dax Harwood pinned Matthews. Brody King joined for heel beatdown after Daniel Garcia had thwarted his interference attempt earlier.
This was barely a show that happened. Except for the main event I didn’t care for anything and the Kingston-Beretta result had already been spoiled by New Japan ahead of their US event next week.
Injury Report: What El Bum Rush
That’s how I jokingly refer to Rush sometimes on my AEW results posts that I do on Facebook (I do them old-school CRZ style in referring to wrestlers), but it turns out he wasn’t 100% during the Continental Classic and had a bum body issue. In a post he just made on the socials, Rush revealed he suffered a torn hamstring during the tournament. He toughed it out and finished the tournament but now is probably going to be out a while.
More as it becomes available. The original post is below.
