DDT Pro Wrestling 2/23/25 LIVE Results (Updated)

DDT wraps up their February schedule today with their monthly Tokyo tour-ending tentpole event, which also features the Finals of this year’s D GENERATIONS CUP Tournament. The winner gets a future KO-D Openweight Championship match, and Takeshi Masada is looking to make it 2 in a row as he faces Yuya Koroku in the main event. The other highlight match is the match before that, a collaboration with anime series “Bang Brave Bang Bravern” (or something like that) which could result in some wackiness as voice actor Tetsu Inada, who also happens to be (at last report) the current DDT Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion, will be in the house…which means potential for the unexpected. And while he isn’t competing today, the ladies’ favorite newcomer, Kaisei Takechi, will also be in attendance today. And early in the card we’ve also got a match with…3/4 of those formerly deplorable Pheromones in the same ring again…yikes…
The promotion also announced that Yuki Ueno, who has been out the last couple weeks due to medical concerns, has been cleared and will return today.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese. Tetsu Inada & Kaisei Takechi will be special guests on commentary. There are no title matches today and while the main event has no time limit, and considering the schedule for post-event happenings, it will probably be a standard Korakuen event with a running time of around 2 1/2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Toru Owashi & Yuki Ishida vs. Yuni & Kazuma Sumi
Kazuki Hirata vs. Antonio Honda
Danshoku Dieno & Koju Takeda vs. Super Sasadango Machine & Yumehito Imanari
Daisuke Sasaki, KANON, MJ Paul & Illusion vs. To-y, Jun Akiyama, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Daichi Sato
Chris Brookes & Masa Takanashi vs. Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura
Bravern, Yuki Ueno & MAO vs. Yukio Naya, Takao Soma & Akito
D GENERATIONS CUP Finals: Takeshi Masada vs. Yuya Koroku

Afterwards, Machine promo with a comedy slideshow presentation on one of the staff laptops that operate the video screen in the venue, which he ultimately used to make a DDT Extreme Championship challenge to Dieno for 3/20. After Imabayashi came back to this world following the end of the match, it was made official.

Injury Report: Constantly DDT’d

Pun intended because the hits keep coming for DDT. Unfortunately the injury/illness issues keep piling up and now they have announced Yuki Ueno is the latest casualty. Potential hematuria, which is blood in urine. It can be serious. However medical scans (kidneys) revealed no abnormalities but for now he can’t do any “serious exercise” until further test results come back. Out indefinitely because of that. However, he will be appearing at the next 2 events (Friday at Shinjuku Face & Sunday at Rembrandt Hotel Ebina in Kanagawa) and will speak in the ring Friday. Right now the biggest concern after his health may be 3/20 when he is to defend the DDT Universal Championship against Minoru Suzuki.

More as it becomes available

Injury Report: Not Sexy, Not Healthy

DDT has just announced another injury as the list grows long again-Yuki Iino was injured today. Fractured right orbital bone (eye). Out indefinitely but it sounds like at least 2 months because he was scheduled to challenge Danshoku Dieno for the DDT Extreme Championship on 3/20, but that match is now off. No replacement at this time as the match has been cancelled.

Injury Report: Akito-No

Whatever is going around Japan recently keeps going around-DDT announced short time ago that Akito is now out of action. Illness. Out tomorrow & Sunday. He was to have been in a tag match tomorrow and an 8-man tag Sunday. Tomomitsu Matsunaga is the replacement both days. Akito should be back in time for the next events in about a week.

DDT 2/3/25 Results

DDT held a Sanshiro Takagi 30th Anniversary Event today, which was unique in that it did not feature any DDT wrestlers-at least none who are signed to the promotion (some regulars who are technically freelancers were featured).

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The paid attendance was not announced, as is now the case for DDT, but they claimed it was a legit sellout.

At the start of the event, Sanshiro Takagi appeared and announced the start of a new project, M&A Pro Wrestling (Matchmake & Agent), with the first event on 4/9 at Ueno Park Outdoor Stage then the second event on 6/25 at Shinjuku Face. No DDT wrestlers will be a part of either event.

Match 1: Fumito Kihara beat Shota.

Match 2: Hyper Misao (Tokyo Joshi Pro) beat Muscle Sakai. Misao actually unmasked herself during the match.

Match 3: Fuminori Abe & Munenori Sawa beat Yumiko Hotta & Shinya Aoki by DQ. Hotta DQ’d. Out of control.

Match 4: Dump Matsumoto & Toru Owashi beat Brahmans Shu & Kei by DQ in 44 seconds. Shu DQ’d. Ref assault. Which led to…
Match 4 (again): In a No DQ Match, Dump Matsumoto & Toru Owashi beat Brahmans Shu & Kei. Matsumoto pinned Kei after a body press. Sanshiro Takagi was special referee.

Match 5: Meiko Satomura beat Shin Sanshiro Takagi, an unknown wrestler dressed up as Takagi. Based on a promo for the match, I’m led to believe “Takagi”, who was seconded by the real Takagi, was actually Sakura Hirota.

Main Event: Yuji Nagata (New Japan) beat Kuroshio TOKYO Japan. Which led to…
Main Event (again): Yuji Nagata (New Japan) beat Kuroshio TOKYO Japan in 30 seconds. Which led to…
Main Event (yet again): Yuji Nagata (New Japan) beat Kuroshio TOKYO Japan. Afterwards, Takagi made Nagata & Kuroshio vs. Brahmans Shu & Kei for 4/9, and promised the fans he will compete again. He has taken a step back from wrestling and is no longer competing full time, in part to focus on front office duties and his role in a new alliance of many major and independent promotions in Japan (about the only notable promotion not part of this alliance right now is All-Japan).

The next event is Thursday, a mini-event with only 4 matches which will all be part of the D GENERATIONS CUP 2025 Tournament. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET.

DDT 1/26/25 LIVE Results (Updated)

DDT runs their monthly tour-ending Tokyo big event today, “NEW YEAR, NEW HERO 2025-The Beginning Of A New Story”. 3 title matches are part of today’s card with the main event being a KO-D Openweight Championship match as Chris Brookes defends against Shuji Ishikawa. There also will be a DDT Universal Championship match as Gringo Loco, who shocked fans by winning the title in the US last November just hours after Miyu Yamashita became the first woman to win the title, defends against Yuki Ueno. (On a side note, it appears Loco has made 2 defenses outside DDT as this is being billed as the 3rd defense) There also is a DDT Extreme Championship match as Danshoku Dieno defends the title against Gorgeous Matsuno, with the special rule being 1 count pinfalls but otherwise normal rules.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese. Marika Tani will be making her semi-regular appearance as a guest on commentary. This is a bigger monthly big event with the title matches so I anticipate it being on the longer end of “normal” Korakuen events with a running time of close to 3 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Takao Soma & Yukio Naya vs. Yuki Iino & Daichi Sato
MAO & Toru Owashi vs. Masa Takanashi & Antonio Honda
Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & HANON vs. HARASHIMA, Jun Akiyama & Tomomitsu Matsunaga
DDT Extreme Champion Danshoku Dieno vs. Gorgeous Matsuno for the title. 1 Count pinfalls, otherwise normal rules
Takeshi Masada, Keigo Nakamura, Illusion & Yuki Ishida vs. To-y, Yuya Koroku, Yuni & Kazuma Sumi
DDT Universal Champion Gringo Loco vs. Yuki Ueno for the title
KO-D Openweight Champion Chris Brookes vs. Shuji Ishikawa for the title

The matches should begin in 15-20 minutes.

An NwA Jr. performance starts the pre-event festivities.

The matches begin at 6:35 PM PT/9:35 PM ET.

Match 1: Takao Soma & Yukio Naya vs. Yuki Iino & Daichi Sato (Heat Up). 30 minute time limit

Quick break for the opening announcements. No GM Imabayashi today. A new announcer along with Akito today, who is the current acting GM. During these announcements, it’s announced that the upcoming D GENERATIONS CUP winner will get a KO-D Openweight Championship match on 4/6 against whoever is the champion on that date. Finally they bring out Kazusada Higuchi. Updates to come but it sounds like he may be coming back soon. He has been out long-term due to injuries and also getting married. (Update: He will return on 3/20 at the annual 5 Hour Anniversary Event)

Match 3: Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & KANON vs. HARASHIMA, Jun Akiyama & Tomomitsu Matsunaga. 30 minute time limit
Result: HARASHIMA, Jun Akiyama & Tomomitsu Matsunaga beat Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & KANON. Matsunata pinned KANON after an over arm throw. Afterwards, Matsunaga made a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championship challenge. That match will happen on 2/5 at Shinjuku Face.

Your new host is Haruo Murata.

Match 4: DDT Extreme Champion Danshoku Dieno vs. Gorgeous Matsuno for the title. 1 Count pinfalls, otherwise normal rules. 1 Hour time limit
Result: DDT Extreme Champion Danshoku Dieno beat Gorgeous Matsuno to retain the title. V2 for Dieno. Next up: Per Akito who made the announcement…Iino. Possibly related to DDT’s top viewed YouTube video causing the channel to lose monetization for now…which featured those deplorable Pheromones aka DIeno & Iino. That match will happen on 3/20.

Match 5: Takeshi Masada, Keigo Nakamura, Illusion & Yuki Ishida vs. To-y, Yuya Koroku, Yuni & Kazuma Sumi. 30 minute time limit

Result: Yuki Ueno beat DDT Universal Champion Gringo Loco to win the title. Ueno becomes the 17th DDT Universal Champion. Next up: Ueno wants Minoru Suzuki. We’ll see. UPDATE: Next up: TBA but not Suzuki (yet). Akito said he will talk to Suzuki about it. Regardless of who TBA is, that match will happen on 3/20.

Main Event: KO-D Openweight Champion Chris Brookes vs. Shuji Ishikawa for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: KO-D Openweight Champion Chris Brookes beat Shuji Ishikawa by submission to retain the title. V2 for Brookes. UPDATE: Next up: TBA but that match will happen on 3/20.

The next event is a Sanshiro Takagi 30th Anniversary event, which is not planned to feature any DDT wrestlers, on 2/3 at Shinjuku Face. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET.
