DDT & Ganbare Pro ran a split doubleheader in Osaka today, both at the same venue with DDT running first then Ganbare had their event a couple hours later.

Today’s events were held at 176BOX in Osaka and should be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast for either event.

The announced paid attendance was 235, a full house/near sellout.

During the opening announcements, Konosuke Takeshita announced, via recorded message, a 10th Anniversary event on 9/10.

Match 1: Yukio Sakaguchi beat Kazuki Hirata.

Match 2: Yuki Iino & Danshoku Dieno vs. Toru Owashi & Takao Soma went to a no contest. GM Imabayashi interference.

Match 3: Jun Akiyama, Yuuske Okada & The Bodyguard beat Yuji Hino, Yukio Naya & Yuki Ishida. Bodyguard beat Ishida with Rising Dragon.

Match 4: Daisuke Sasaki & KANON beat Akito & Antonio Honda. KANON beat Honda with Just Cobra Twist.

Match 5: HARASHIMA & Gamma beat Yuki Ueno & Makoto Oishi. HARASHIMA pinned Oishi with a crucifix.

Match 6: Tetsuya Endo beat Yuya Koroku.

In Tokyo Joshi Pro news ahead of tomorrow’s (tonight US time) event, they will return to Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 on 10/29 and while it will not affect tomorrow’s card, since it was announced at the time this news came out, Yuki Aino is off tomorrow’s event. Leg injury. It’s not known if she will miss any additional time.

Ganbare Pro 7/17/22 Results

Ganbare Pro ran a small house show in Tokyo today, resuming their series of occasional events that was put on hold due to the pandemic.

Today’s event was held at Basement MON*STAR in Tokyo and should be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date. There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 78, a super full house/very near sellout.

Match 1: Makoto & HARUKAZE beat Moeka Haruhi & YuuRI. Makoto pinned YuuRI after Swelling Swell.

Match 2: Keisuke Ishii & Shota vs. Shuichiro Katsumura & Shinichiro Tominaga went to d double KO. ALL 4 KO’d SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Main Event: In an elimination match with over the top rope rules, where the team left with one person by way of eliminations loses, Ken Ohka, Koki Iwasaki, Mizuki Watase & Sayaka Obihiro beat Yumehito Imanari, Takao Soma, Tyson Maeguchi & Sasuke (?). Order of elimination: Soma by Obihiro, Sasuke (?) by Obihiro, Obihiro by Imanari, Iwasaki by Maeguchi, Maeguchi by Watase. Because Imanari was the only person left for his team, the match ended there and Ohka’s team won. The match went a total of just short of 50 minutes.

After the event, Makoto vs. HARUKAZE was announced for 8/13 at Korakuen Hall as was what likely will be Spirit of Ganbare World Openweight Champion Yumehito Imanari vs. Shigehiro Irie for the title. Also, Shota will be leaving next month for an indefinite excursion to the US. No further details were announced.

Ganbare Pro 7/10/22 Results

Ganbare Pro ran one of their biggest events of the year, if not their biggest, today, an event that like Tokyo Joshi Pro earlier in the day would feature vocal cheering and streamer throwing allowed for the first time in over 2 years as Japanese wrestling slowly attempts to return to normal amidst the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Today’s event was held at Ota City General Gym in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 804.

During the opening, it was announced that female wrestler Yoshiko Hasegawa, a 35-year-old with about 2 1/2 years of experience, is joining the promotion and will debut for Ganbare on 8/13.

Match 1: Isami Kodaka & Shuji Ishikawa beat Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie. Kodaka pinned Ishii after Brave legs & swords.

Match 2: Kouki Iwasaki & Tyson Maeguchi beat Tatsuhito Takaiwa & Black Tiger 5. Maeguchi pinned Tiger after Tyson Splash.

Match 3: Ganbare Tamagawa, Nobuhiro Shimatani & HARUKAZE beat Onryo, YuuRI & Lingerie Muto (Munenori Sawa). HARUKAZE pinned YuuRI after Flame Spear.

Ganbare Pro 6/29/22 Results

Ganbare Pro ran their first post-CyberFight Festival event today, finishing a very quick build to their next major event in July.

Today’s event was held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 112.

During the opening, fans were encouraged to bring their voices to the next event in July, where at both Ganbare and Tokyo Joshi Pro fans will be allowed to cheer vocally, throw ticker tape/streamers and post support banners for the first time since the pandemic began. Masks are still required for fans and capacity at the venue will be limited to 50% (that will mean max crowds of around 1500).

Match 1: Kouki Iwasaki beat Tatsuya Matsubo by submission.

Match 2: Mizuki Watase, Moeka Haruhi & HARUKAZE beat Shuichiro Katsumura, Yuna Manase & YuuRI. Haruhi pinned YuuRI after 79.5MHz.

Match 3: Tatsuhito Takaiwa & Shigehiro Irie beat Grief & Taison Maeguchi. Takaiwa pinned Maeguchi after Death Valley Bomb.

Today’s event was held at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 122.

Match 1: Rie Kawabata & Maria beat HARUKAZE & YuuRI. Kawabata pinned YuuRI after a moonsault press.

Match 2: Takao Soma beat Tsuyoshi Okada.

Match 3: Shuichiro Katsumura & Shigehiro Irie beat Kouki Iwasaki & Taison Maeguchi. Katsumura beat Maeguchi. After this, Katsumura vs. Minoru Suzuki was added to their 7/10 event.

Match 4: Masa Takanashi beat Shota.

CyberFight Festival Card Announcement Next Week

The CyberFight Group announced today that the full card for CyberFight Festival 2022 will be revealed at a press conference Tuesday. The presser will be streamed live on ABEMA, WRESTLE UNIVERSE and all the promotions’ YouTube channels (DDT, Pro Wrestling NOAH, Tokyo Joshi Pro) beginning Monday at 11 PM ET/8 PM PT.

DDT sub-brand Ganbare Pro ran their major Golden Week event, “Love Phantom 2022”, today after the Tokyo Joshi Pro event, featuring some TJPW participation and a Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Championship main event.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.
