Injury Report: So Much For Those GLEAT Plans

There were reports in GLEAT lately about VINA leaving the promotion recently but staying until the end of the year while potential contract extension talks took place, but those were subject to change due to injury among other things. That unfortunately just happened. Multiple left shoulder and left biceps issues. Out indefinitely but surgery is needed so it may be a long time. As a result, the G INFINITY Championship he held with Kuroshio TOKYO Japan is now VACANT. Future title plans TBA.

More as it becomes available.

The next event is tomorrow at Sayama City Citizen Exchange Center in Saitama. It’s billed as a house show which probably means no live or on demand broadcast.

Injury Report: Izuchi apparently took enough physical punishment on the MMA fight to send him to the sidelined to recover. Out at least 2 weeks. Further decisions on his status will be made after the 11/16 event.

Injury Report-A No Go Is Not GLEAT

There’s more than one Go in puroresu so I can keep the bad puns going…that aside, the newd is bad as GLEAT wrestler Go Miyake is indeed a No Go for action for now. Fractured left mandible. Out indefinitely but will be a while. Changes to Monday’s event are pending.

More as it becomes available.

News: CIMA Possibly Leaving GLEAT Soon

GLEAT posted a news item today regarding the future of CIMA, who helped start the promotion after leaving Dragon Gate. Apparently he made a comment at their 10/9 event about possibly leaving the promotion after the next event on 11/3, but after discussions it sounds like he will stay until the end of the year when his contract will probably expire. They may continue discussions on an extension unless CIMA is absent due to particular circumstances such as injury.

Injury Report: GLEAT Wrestler Update (It’s Not GLEAT)

Or not great at all…far from it. GLEAT wrestler Takanori Ito was recently injured in a traffic accident and the promotion provided an update on his injuries today…nothing short of major. Left knee MCL, meniscus, left elbow contusion, right elbow LCL, cervical spine strain, lumbar contusion, right ankle sprain, right ankle joint contusion and will need knee surgery. Uh, damn. Out indefinitely but sounds like it’s going to be well into 2026 before he can return. The accident is under police investigation.

More as it becomes available.

Injury Report: Not GLEAT At All

It really isn’t…GLEAT has announced unfortunate circumstances that have taken Takanori Ito out of action again. Unspecified injuries suffered in a traffic accident. Out indefinitely pending further information but it means he is now off this week’s Lidet UWF event. Changes are forthcoming to that event.

More as it becomes available.

News: GLEAT-Issei Onitsuka Update

Updating a prior post, GLEAT has completed its investigation into suspected breach of contract by Issei Onitsuka and announced punishments today. It sounds quite severe based on translation-one year house arrest (presumably suspension), fined an undisclosed amount and dismissed as fan club president, plus he is stripped of the G INFINITY and G-RUSH Championships (for the former, that means Takehiro Yamamura is stripped too). Onitsuka accepted the punishments and has opted to retire but still must pay the fine. Plans for the titles will be announced later.

More as it becomes available.
