Impact Wrestling 6/15/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in Columbus, OH:

This episode was taped Saturday and begins the fallout from Friday’s Against All Odds live event.

The YouTube pre-show match was Champagne Singh & Shera vs. Laredo Kid & Jack Price. (Singh & Shera won)

Motor City Machine Guns open the show. They get interrupted by Nick Aldis, Trey Miguel & Kenny King who all seem to want title matches (Aldis of course will face NEW Impact World Champion Alex Shelley for the title at Slammiversary). THEN Gisele Shaw cuts in. After a “Yep” from Shelley and a few words towards Shaw and her ranting, that brings out Trinity. She went right after Jai Vidal and stared down Shaw…NOW Deonna Purrazzo joins the party. Finally out comes Santino Marella. He makes MCMG, Aldis, Trinity & Purrazzo vs. Miguel, King, Sheldon Jean, Savannah Evans & Shaw as the main event. He calls Evans Savannah Georgia. HAHA.

Steve Maclin promo.

The Design promo.

Match 1: Rich Swann beat Moose.

Pre-show footage where Heath attacked Champagne Singh & Shera after their victory. Heath promo follows.

Moose walks backstage and gets confronted by Brian Myers. He wants Moose to team with him and go for the Impact World Tag Team Championship.

Bully Ray comes out. Commentary noted earlier he apparently has filed a complaint with promotion owner Anthem Sports & Entertainment (as Anthen Wrestling Exhibitions) over the actions of Scott D’Amore at Against All Odds. He rants and complains until D’Amore comes out. He’s heard from the Anthem board and that his actions were unbecoming as Impact President. Bully says D’Amore only needs to say Bully was right and he was wrong. D’Amore said the board strongly advised he should take a leave of absence as President. Bully plays the “Bret Screwed Bret” card and tells D’Amore to leave the ring. D’Amore then tosses the mic away and takes down Bully and starts wailing away until Steve Maclin rushes out for the beatdown on D’Amore. Maclin soon goes under the ring for a pair of chairs, but surprisingly not tables. Bully chokes D’Amore with a chair and as Maclin prepares to smash it into D’Amore’s throat, the lights go out and we see lightning strikes. When the lights come back on, PCO is in the ring. He takes several chair shots and bends over but doesn’t go down before coming back to life and cleaning house. D’Amore with microphone. He forgot one more detail before he left-at Slammiversary they have a tag match! Bully & Maclin vs. D’Amore & PCO in his hometown! OOOOO CANADA!

Maclin & Bully ranting backstage after we return from commercial. Apparently Frankie Kazarian overheard them nearby and interjects himself into their argument, then Eddie Edwards does as well. Bully threatens them and Alisha Edwards before walking off. Edwards proposes they make peace despite their differences over Alisha’s objections and says they’re good.

Match 3: Impact World Tag Team Champions Ace Austin & Chris Bey beat Decay in a NON-TITLE match. Bey pinned Crazzy Steve after 1…2…Sweet. Borderline squash. As Ace & Bey head backstage, MCMG talk to them and show respect to Ace & Bey.

Bhupinder Gujjar interviewed backstage. He gets an episode of “Diary” next week on AXS TV before Impact (and should be on Impact+ and YouTube after that). Interview interrupted by Dirty Dango. He takes a shot at Gia Miller before walking off. Commentary then announces 2 episodes of Diary air each week this month before Impact on AXS TV, with Gujjar & Trey Miguel next week.

Main Event: Main Event: Motor City Machine Gune, Nick Aldis, Trinity & Deonna Purrazzo beat Trey Miguel, Kenny King, Gisele Shaw, Savannah Evans & Sheldon Jean. Alex Shelley pinned Jean after Cradle Shock. Afterwards, Aldis handed Shelley the title belt but laid him out with a cheap shot, seemingly starting a heel turn for the PPV.

Next week: oVe vs. Brian Myers & The Good Hands, The Design vs. Jonathan Gresham & Mike Bailey, Taylor Wilde vs. Killer Kelly and Bully Ray & Brian Myers vs. Eddie Edwards & Frankie Kazarian. This will be the last Columbus show as Impact then heads to Atlanta, GA for 2 days of TV tapings before heading to Australia on 6/30 & 7/1 for live events. The Atlanta tapings will take them to the Slammiversary PPV on 7/15 with PPV fallout on 7/16 to go to their next Chicago tapings at the end of July. The 6/30 & 7/1 standalone Australia events will be available LIVE and on demand only on FITE for $14.99 each or both for $24.99 (on demand will be available immediately after the live events). Both live events begin at 2 AM PT/5 AM ET. Results for both will be posted after I have a chance to watch on demand replays.
Steve Maclin will get his rematch for the Impact World Championship against Shelley on 6/30. On 7/1 Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Gisele Shaw for the title is set, and if Shaw wins the title she defends on 7/15 against Purrazzo & Trinity in a 3-way.

Impact Wrestling “Against All Odds” Results (6/9/23)

Impact Wrestling’s monthly live event, Against All Odds, is tonight, just 2 weeks after their last live event and kickstarting the build to the Slammiversary PPV in July. They had to do a quick build for tonight with only 2 weeks of TV and it started at-and carries over from-Under Siege with rematches and in particular a women’s dog collar match. A highlight is the first ever 8-4-1 match: It starts as a regular 8-man tag match, but the winning team immediately faces off in a 4-way against each other and the winner there gets the Impact World Championship shot at Slammiversary against the winner of the Steve Maclin-Alex Shelley main event. If Bully Ray has his way and backs up what he’a said on Impact these last 2 weeks it’ll be him, but he has to earn it first.

Today’s event will be held at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, OH and can be watched LIVE on Impact+ (subscription required. $7.99/month or $71.99/year), YouTube (Ultimate Insider subscription required, $4.99/month) and FITE ($9.99, includes unlimited on demand replays). There will also be a FREE pre-show on YouTube and FITE 30 minutes before the event. Due to work schedule conflicts I may not be able to do live results for the pre-show. Including that it will be a standard length PPV with a total runtime of 3 1/2 hours.

Final thoughts: WOW, that main event! Outstanding and an incredible last few minutes to cap off another excellent live night of Impact. The worst matches were solid and the best matches were outstanding, the hardcore matches were brutal and fun and there were some surprises with the 8-4-1. I missed the pre-show matches for the most part but the main show again way overachieved, making that $5-10 price tag depending on how you watch an indescribable bargain. If you missed it, get it and watch it.

Overall show grade: A

End Show.

The next TV tapings including the fallout will be tomorrow.

Post-show is airing on YouTube and Impact+ now. Started with MCMG still in the ring for a post-event celebratory promo thanking the fans and putting Impact and themselves over. A few final thoughts from commentary wraps everything up.

Impact Wrestling 6/8/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling from London, Ontario, Canada:

This episode was taped on late May as part of the post-Under Siege tapings.

The YouTube pre-show match was Sereziya Sparx vs. Tara Rising.

Match 1: Chris Bey beat Jaosn Hotch. The Good Hands immediately beat down Bey & Ace Austin afterwards.

Heath interviewed backstage.

Dirty Dango promo.

Match 2: Heath beat Champagne Singh. Squash.

The Design promo.

Match 3: Impact Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry beat Sheldon Jean in a NON -TITLE match. Squash. Afterwards, Hendry immediately calls out Dirty Dango. Hendry then cues up a bad comedy parody video “featuring” Dango. (Earlier this year he did similar with Matt Cardona aka “Edge’s bitch”. This is similar based on when Dango was Fandango in WWE). Bad in the “so bad it’s funny” sense. After this, Kenny King ambushed Hendry and the beatdown was on but Santino Marella quickly intervened. Jean was left alone in the ring and got the Cobra.

Gisele Shaw promo. She claims she put Jordynne Grace out indefinitely (potential write-off as Grace is a free agent) and calls out Trinity and Deonna Purrazzo for tomorrow.

Match 4: Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven (Taylor Wilde & KiLynn King) beat Death Dollz (Courtney Rush & Jessicka) to retain the titles. Wilde pinned Rush.

Steve Maclin interviewed backstage. On cue Bully Ray joins him.

Pre-show footage of Masha Slamovich beating down both women in the pre-show match, including choking one with a chain as a message sent to Killer Kelly ahead of tomorrow’s dog collar match.

Match 5: Impact X Division Champion Trey Miguel beat Bhupinder Gujjar in a NON-TITLE match. Afterwards, Miguel with microphone. He puts himself over ahead of tomorrow’s title rematch against Chris Sabin.

Johnny Swinger interviewed backstage. He says Zicky Dice is going to school to become a referee and help him get to 50 wins and winning titles.

Trinity & Deonna Purrazzo interviewed to promote their Knockouts Title match at Slammiversary in July and tag match against Shaw & Savannah Evans tomorrow.

Main Event: Rich Swann & Moose beat Nick Aldis & Jonathan Gresham. Moose pinned Gresham after a powerbomb. They kept fighting post-match and Heath joined in to send Moose packing, leading to Heath & Aldis going at it and Bully Ray sneaking in to lay out Swann. Then PCO joined the fray to get everyone in tomorrow’s 8-4-1 match into the ring. PCO stood tall alone to end the show.

Next up is Against All Odds tomorrow in Columbus, OH. The event will be streamed live on Impact+, YouTube for Ultimate Insiders (subscription required, $4.99/month) and is also available as a PPV on FITE for $9.99 (purchase includes the live event and unlimited on demand replays). There will be a FREE pre-show on YouTube and FITE at 7:30 PM ET/4:30 PM PT before the PPV begins at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. Live results will be posted for the YouTube broadcast of the PPV.

Impact Wrestling 6/1/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in London, Ontario, Canada:

This episode was taped Saturday and is the fallout from Friday’s Under Siege event.

The YouTube pre-show match was Brian Myers vs. Tyler Tirva. On a side note, for YouTube Ultimate Insiders you can now watch the full replay of Rebellion on demand as it was added for subscribers earlier today.

Under Siege highlights package at the start focused on the Knockouts Title match. (Reportedly Jordynne Grace is now a free agent and may be done with Impact. She’s never really worked in the same place as her husband, Jonathan Gresham)

Bully Ray opens the show. With microphone. He puts himself over and states his intent to win the 8-4-1 match at Against All Odds and get an Impact World Title shot at Slammiversary (the 8-4-1 match starts as an 8-man tag, but the winning team then faces themselves in a 4-way and the winner is the #1 contender to the Impact World Championship). That last comment brings out Steve Maclin. With microphone.. Maclin says he allowed Bully to powerbomb Scott D’Amore through the flaming table at Under Siege. Bully disagrees before doing an about-face. Maclin hinted at perhaps them becoming a tag team and taking over. This brought out Motor City Machine Guns. Bully & Alex Shelley went back & forth until Maclin stepped in. All this led to Chris Sabin proposing a tag match between them for tonight. Bully accepts…but not tonight. Subculture then comes out. They say if Bully & Maclin won’t take the match, they will. Shelley agrees.

Jimmy Jacobs interviews Nick Aldis.

Match 1: Eddie Edwards beat Yuya Uemura. After the match, Frankie Kazarian came out. With microphone. He took issue with Edwards disrespecting Uemura (also note a lot of Alisha Edwards interference in the match). Kazarian laid out Edwards and when Alisha tried to interfere she got laid out too.

Match 2: Sami Callihan & Jake Crist beat Decay. Callihan pinned Crazzy Steve after a Crist cutter. Almost a borderline squash based on match time (short). Afterwards, The Design hit the ring for the beatdown on Callihan & Crist until Rich Swann made the save.

Callihan & Swann argue backstage. No Swann in Callihan’s corner for Against All Odds.

Match 3: Trinity beat Savannah Evans by submission. With microphone afterwards. She wasted no time calling out Deonna Purrazzo. Purrazzo comes out. Trinity asks for the title shot at Slammiversary in July. Purrazzo accepts. But then Evans & Gisele Shaw attack both from behind. Jai Vidal lays out Purrazzo with a loaded purse and Shaw uses it on Trinity as she attacks Evans. SHaw taunts Trinity and teases another cheap shot but Jordynne Grace makes the save. At least until another purse shot to the back of the head from Shaw. Shaw hits a big knee strike to the head of Grace and then follows with a second. And a third. (Is this the official write-off for Grace if she’s really done with Impact?)

Commentary says doctors are checking on Grace but her condition doesn’t look good.

Match 4: Jody Threat beat Dani Luna.

During the prior match, it’s made official-Purrazzo vs. Trinity for the Impact Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary.

Joe Hendry & Santino talk Dirty Dango. Santino is about to make a match but Kenny King & Sheldon Jean interrupt. King suggests making a match so Santino makes Jean-Hendry for next week. Probably a NON-TITLE match. Then Santino says at Against All Odds it’s Hendry vs. Dango for the Impact Digital Media Championship. Santino believes in Joe Hendry.

Replay of Masha Slamovich-Killer Kelly fight from Under Siege. Kelly promo. They’ll fight in a Dog Collar Match next week at Against All Odds. Also set for the event is Chris Sabin vs. Trey Miguel for the X Division Championship, Eddie Edwards vs. Frankie Kazarian, Shaw/Evans vs. Trinity/Purrazzo and Impact Tag Team Champions Ace Austin & Chris Bey vs. The Good Hands for the title and the 8-4-1 match and Impact World Champion Steve Maclin vs. Alex Shelley for the title.

Main Event: Motor City Machine Guns beat Subculture. Chris Sabin pinned Flash Morgan Webster after Dark Bomb.

Next week: Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven vs. Death Dollz for the titles and Moose & Rich Swann vs. Nick Aldis & Jonathan Gresham. This will be the go-home for Against All Odds which is live next Friday on Impact+, YouTube for Ultimate Insiders & FITE.

Impact Wrestling “Under Siege” Results (5/26/23)

Impact Wrestling runs their live monthly major event, Under Siege, tonight. The full card currently consists of 10 matches headlined by Steve Maclin defending the Impact World Championship against PCO in what will now be a No DQ match. This plays off recent weeks of Impact when Maclin thought he injured PCO and Champagne Singh bought his way into an easy out for the champ, but PCO IS NOT HUMAN and showed up last night so the match remains so. Other title matches include a rematch between Deonna Purrazzo & Jordynne Grace for the Impact Knockouts Championship and it’s all or nothing for Grace-if she loses, she can’t get another chance at the title as long as Purrazzo is champion. Also on the line are the X Division and Tag Team Championships and there is a 6-way to determine the next challenger for the Impact World Championship in 2 weeks.

Today’s event will be held at Western Fair District Agriplex in London, Ontario, Canada and can be watched LIVE on Impact+ with a monthly or annual subscription ($7.99/month or $71.99/year), YouTube with an Ultimate Insider subscription ($4.99/month), and as a PPV on FITE ($9.99). If you buy the PPV on FITE you also get unlimited on demand replays (included with the other services). There is also a FREE pre-show on all the services beginning 30 minutes before the event. Due to work schedule conflicts I will be joining the pre-show in progress and watching from the beginning so at least initially I may be about 10 minutes behind live and catching up as I go. Including the pre-show the event should run the standard PPV/live window of about 3 1/2 hours.

Tonight’s current lineup:

Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven (Taylor Wilde & KiLynn King) vs. Death Dollz (Jessicka & Courtney Rush) in a NON-TITLE match

Knockouts Title match promo.

Match 2: Impact Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry vs. Dirty Dango for the title

Mandatory FBI Warning right on time. (FYI, I am watching the YouTube version) Then opening promo video for main event.

Match 1: Nick Aldis vs. Kenny King
Result: Nick Aldis beat Kenny King by submission

As Aldis leaves, Killer Kelly & Masha Slamovich fight through the venue. Slamovich gets knocked over a railing, about a 6-7 foot drop, and they continue to fight through the crowd towards ringside. Soon it gets into the ring and Kelly chokes out Slamovich with a steel chain as refs and security finally break it up. Everyone bails as Kelly grabs and poses with the chain.

Jordynne Grace interviewed backstage.

Sami Callihan promo.

Match 2: The Design vs. Sami Callihan, Rich Swann & TBA. TBA is revealed to be Jake Crist.

Match 7: Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Jordynne Grace for the title. If Grace loses she can’t get another title match as long as Purrazzo is champion

Main Event: Impact World Champion Steve Maclin vs. PCO in a No DQ Match for the title
Result: Impact World Champion Steve Maclin beat PCO to retain the title. That means next up is Alex Shelley. Afterwards, Maclin with microphone. He immediately demands Scott D’Amore live up to his word and come out to put the title belt around Maclin’s waist. D’Amore comes out. He obliges and straps the title belt on Maclin and offers a handshake, which Maclin refuses. We hear camera picking up Maclin telling D’Amore whatever happens, he’s still his boss. During this time, Bully Ray sneaks into the ring and chokes out D’Amore with a strap. Camera catches Ray telling Maclin “Get The Table”. Bully produces a can of lighter fluid as Rehwoldt leaves commentary and hits the ring. Bully sprays lighter fluid all over Rehwoldt and lays him out. PCO then returns to the ring. Bully shoves PCO and it’s on. PCO shoves Bully back but Maclin lays out PCO with the title belt. Outside the ring the beatdown is on as Motor City Machine Guns hit the ring but get sent packing quickly.Bully prepares the flaming table as Maclin teases putting D’Amore through it. Table lit and…POWERBOMB THROUGH THE TABLE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Bully taunts D’Amore, saying he will never get rid of Bully, ever, he’s here forever and he’s taking Impact down. Bully raises Maclin’s hand to end the show.

End Show. Live post-show coming up shortly on Impact+ & YouTube.

Final thoughts: As usual it was a solid live event although a couple of finishes felt like letdowns and the very end was a bit of overkill. Still worth the money as the matches ranged from good to outstanding.

Overall show grade: B+. Take out the couple finishes I didn’t like and it was A-.

The next TV tapings are tomorrow which will cover the fallout and the next 2 weeks of Impact to get them to Against All Odds.

Impact Wrestling 5/25/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in Chicago, IL:

This episode was taped on 4/29 and is the final event before tomorrow’s live Under Siege event.

The YouTube pre-show match was Sami Callihan vs. Shogun.

Match 1: Chris Sabin beat Mike Bailey. H-O-T opener.

Trinity promo for Under Siege.

Steve Maclin-PCO video package for Under Siege. Afterwards, Maclin says he’ll name his challenger for tomorrow later thinking PCO is out.

Nick Aldis joins commentary for the next match.

Match 2: Kenny King & Sheldon Jean beat Decay. King pinned Crazzy Steve after Royal Flush. Afterwards, King with microphone. He taunted Aldis ahead of their match tomorrow. Aldis with microphone at commentary to respond. King sends Jean after Aldis and Jean quickly gets laid out. Aldis gets in the ring but King bails immediately, saying it’ll have to wait until tomorrow.

Jessicka leaves the hourglass counting down to Rosemary’s return backstage for her match. No entry for Taylor Wilde & KiLynn King as we return from commercial but Jessicka gets hers.

Match 3: Taylor Wilde beat Jessicka. Squash. Wilde & King further beat down Jessicka afterwards but the hourglass runs out and when it does, Rosemary doesn’t emerge…but Courtney Rush does. Rush sends King packing and puts Wilde in a sharpshooter until King pulls her out of the ring.

Jessicka & Rush backstage after commercial. Rush tells Jessicka technically she is Rosemary, so it looks like a name/gimmick change for Rush/Rosemary. Either way, Rush is now part of Death Dollz.

Match 4: Rich Swann beat Angels. Immediately afterwards, Kon & Deaner beat down Swann until Sami Callihan made the save with a baseball bat. But Kon & Angels recovered and held Callihan while Deaner turned the tables and laid out Callihan with the bat. They face off tomorrow in a 6-man tag but we still don’t know who will team with Callihan & Swann.

Deonna Purrazzo interviewed backstage. She talks about Jordynne Grace until Alisha Edwards cuts in.

Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly are fighting backstage in the kitchen area of the venue when we return from commercial. They brawl all over the place until Slamovich chokes out Kelly with an electrical cord. Too short but pretty darn good.

Match 5: Jordynne Grace beat Alisha Edwards. Squash.

Dirty Dango promo.

#1 contender 6-way match promo for tomorrow. The winner is next for the Impact World Champion after tomorrow at Against All Odds.

Match 6: Chris Bey beat John Skyler.

Steve Maclin comes out for the main event segment. With microphone. He says PCO is out of tomorrow’s title match so he’s introducing a new challenger-Champagne Singh. Singh & Shera come out. Shera with microphone. He starts to put himself over in a comedy bit until Scott D’Amore comes out. He says that match won’t happen. Maclin thinks D’Amore is stacking the deck against him and doesn’t want him as Impact World Champion. But D’Amore says he’s fine with it as long as Maclin proves himself worthy of it. Maclin took issue with D’Amore throwing the title in his face at Rebellion. So D’Amore says he Maclin retains tomorrow, he will respectfully hand Maclin the title and shake his hand. Maclin says no. And what D’Amore will do after tomorrow is show Maclin the respect he deserves because as long as he’s champion, that means Maclin is D’Amore’s boss. And D’Amore straps the belt on Maclin after he wins tomorrow. D’Amore agrees to that. But Maclin brings up the replacement for PCO because is hasn’t been named. D’Amore says that’s because there is none, it’s still Maclin-PCO. And then PCO’s video plays and when the lights come on…HE’S ALIVE! AND HERE! And it’s on in the ring! PCO fights off Singh & Shera then rips the belt out of Maclin’s hands. Maclin bails as Sing & Shera try again to attack PCO but it backfires. Maclin dives for the belt but PCO foils that. After all, PCO IS NOT HUMAN.

Next up is Under Siege, the monthly live major event, tomorrow in London, Ontario, Canada. Impact Wrestling 5/18/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling in Chicago, IL:

This episode was taped during the 4/28-4/29 TV tapings.

The YouTube pre-show match was The Design vs. Johnny Swinger & Zicky Dice.

Match 1: Impact X Division Champion Trey Miguel beat Laredo Kid in a NON-TITLE match.

Miguel stays in the ring through and after commercial claiming he is holding the show hostage until the crowd shows him some respect. This brings out Chris Sabin. He talks down Miguel and sends him off, including hilariously putting himself over as a to-be-9-time champion (which he did say 9 times).

Jai Vidal confronts Trinity about the picture he took with her last week and posted to social media. Trinity tells Vidal that Gisele Shaw can talk to her if there’s a problem. Vidal says Shaw won’t be cleared until next week so Trinity throws down a challenge.

Sami Callihan & Rich Swann promo.

Match 2: Jason Hotch beat Ace Austin.

Steve Maclin recruits Champagne Singh & Shera to do some dirty work.

Jordynne Grace interviewed about what happened to Deonna Purrazzo last week. Alisha Edwards interrupts and claims it’s because of Grace.

Match 3: Trinity (Impact Debut) beat KiLynn King by submission. Great match. Afterwards, Jai Vidal immediately came out with microphone. He has a message from Gisele Shaw-open challenge accepted for Under Siege. Vidal then tries to b*tch slap Shaw but Trinity nicely blocks it and head kicks Vidal out of the ring and it’s now official-Trinity vs. Shaw at Under Siege.

Maclin confronts PCO backstage and the beatdown is on. Note the floor was interestingly lined with cardboard boxes as padding. Maclin uses a sledgehammer to smash cinderblocks on PCO’s back.

The Coven confront Jessicka. They want Rosemary but Jessicka won’t go in. Not until her hourglass is empty…and it’s not yet.

Match 4: Jody Threat beat Sierra. Squash.

Dirty Dango clears Johnny Swinger & Zicky Dice in the Santino Marella attack investigation, but sensing they know who did it triggers a Joe Hendry appearance. They think it was Hendry. Hendry absolutely denies the allegations. He tears Dango’s shirt, which apparently reveals the evidence that Dango did it before laying out Hendry.

Main Event: Jonathan Gresham, Yuya Uemura & Alex Shelley beat Moose, Frankie Kazarian & Eddie Edwards. Shelley pinned Edwards after Shell Shock.

Next week: Rich Swann vs. Angels and Mike Bailey vs. Chris Sabin. Remember this was taped before Bailey went to New Japan for Best Of The Super Junior (where he is doing very well). This is the last episode before Under Siege next Friday live on Impact+, YouTube for Ultimate Insiders and FITE.

News: Upcoming New Japan TAMASHII Events Postponed, Impact Replacing

In a press release today, Impact Wrestling announced they are headed to Australia in June & July for the first time. The events will be held on 6/30 & 7/1 Australia time as part of a 4-day tour from 6/29-7/2, with the events being held in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. The press release notes the events will be broadcast worldwide on FITE, Impact broadcast partners, digital and social media which suggests they should also be available for Impact+ and YouTube Ultimate Insider subscribers and also AXS TV in the US. Tickets go on sale Saturday (Sunday in Australia).

These events replace planned New Japan TAMASHII events and Oceania Cup, the latter of which is postponed due to NJPW scheduling & talent availability issues. While there are no NjPW events during this time and no press release has been put out from New Japan about this, the events would be less than a week after the Forbidden Door 2 joint event with All Elite Wrestling in Canada. The TAMASHII dates had not yet been announced.

More as it becomes available.

Impact Wrestling 5/4/23 Results

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling from Chicago, IL:

This episode was taped last weekend (4/28-4/29) as part of what should be the next 4 episodes, including this one, that should take them to Under Siege, the next monthly live event, on 5/26.

The YouTube pre-show match was Laredo Kid vs. Jack Price. The promotion has also signed Jennifer Chung (Jade Chung), the real life wife of Josh Alexander, and she will be the ring announcer for the pre-show match going forward among other announcing duties.

Match 1: Moose & Brian Myers beat Bhupinder Gujjar & Yuya Uemura. Moose pinned Gujjar after a spear.

Gia Miller interviews Steve Maclin, Champagne Singh & Shera.

Replay of Santino Marella backstage attack aftermath from last week, follow-up investigation by Dirty Dango leads to an impromptu Joe Hendry summoning. Hendry thinks Mike Tenay was responsible but Hendry suggests Trey Miguel. Classic running Mike Tenay jokes.

Match 2: .Sami Callihan beat Kon by apparent DQ. This was supposed to have been Callihan vs. Deaner but Deaner announced as he came out that plans changed and Callihan was facing Kon instead. DQ came when Deaner summoned the Army Of Darkness-a bunch of guys in yellow hoodies & jeans-to the ring to beat down Callihan. Deaner finished it with a baseball bat shot to Callihan’s face. The question is whether this was actually DQ or no contest. The ref waved it off but there was no announcement.

Dango & Hendry interrogate Trey Miguel backstage. Miguel is supposedly cleared but not before and after some ridiculous comedy.

Jimmy Jacobs interviews Nick Aldis. Kenny King interrupts mid-promo, in response Aldis challenges King to a match. King says no, gotta earn it.

Match 3: Jody Threat beat Alisha Edwards.

Motor City Machine Guns interviewed. Apparently Chris Sabin is a big Steven Seagal movie fan and spoofs Booker T in counting his X Championship reigns. Alex Shelley says he’s going for the Impact World Championship in the meantime.

Frankie Kazarian retrospective Part 2. Full video will be available on YouTube and Impact+ after tonight’s show, which should be anytime as of this post.

Match 4: PCO, Rhino & Heath beat Steve Maclin, Champagne Singh & Shera. PCO pinned Singh after PCOsault. Rhino & Heath were mystery partners of PCO’s choice.

The Coven promo.

Death Dollz promo. They seek out Father James Mitchell in their quest to get rid of The Coven blocking their access to the undead realm and possibly finding Taya Valkyrie (who of course has left Impact and is now with All Elite Wrestling). Rosemary has a butcher knife for some reason. And after THe Coven introduced a candle into their promo, Jessicka produces an hourglass. They’re really into all this mystic/supernatural stuff.

Match 5: Jonathan Gresham beat Mike Bailey by submission. They played it up like this is the end of the 4-match series between them. I selfishly hope not because this was another FANTASTIC match.

Sami Callihan backstage trying to recruit Rich Swann to help him against Design.

Main Event segment is the Impact debut of Trinity (former Naomi in WWE, now going by her real first name). She cuts a fired-up promo stating she’s here for the Knockouts World Championship, which brings out Deonna Purrazzo. She even takes a shot at how Trinity left WWE but as it gets really heated Jordynne Grace comes out. Trinity is ready to wait for Purrazzo-Grace at Under Siege and then take on whoever emerges as champion. Trinity danced off and left Grace & Purrazzo facing off in the ring.

Next week: Impact World Champion Steve Maclin vs. Rhino for the title, Frankie Kazarian Interview Part 3, Nick Aldis vs. Sheldon Jean, Masha Slamovich vs. Killer Kelly and Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Coven vs. Jordynne Grace & Deonna Purrazzo for the titles.

Impact Wrestling 4/27/23 Results (Updated 4/28)

Here are the quick results from tonight’s Impact Wrestling from Toronto, Canada:

The YouTube pre-show match was Kenny King vs. Channing Decker.

Match 1: Jordynne Grace beat Masha Slamovich.

Steve Maclin promo. He calls out PCO, who gets ambushed from behind by Shera & Champagne Singh. Maclin leaves as they beat down PCO before PCO makes the comeback but then Santino Marella comes out. Singh & Shera hand Marella some money and he makes the match for right now and Shera is banned from ringside.

Match 2: PCO beat Champagne Singh.

The Coven promo.

Match 3: Johnny Swinger beat El Dineroco. Squash. Hand-picked foe by Zicky Dice. Turns out Dineroco was Dice. But Santino Marella caught them backstage…NO CONTEST. The win is nullified.

Pre-show match highlights. Kenny King beat Channing Decker.

Match 4: Impact Tag Team Champions Ace Austin & Chris Bey beat The Design (Kon & Angels) in a NON-TITLE match. Bey pinned Angels after 1…2…Sweet.

Santino Marella was attacked backstage and is being checked out. The doctor says take time off.

Death Dollz promo.

Match 5: Jody Threat beat Seleziya Sparx.

Frankie Kazarian interview. Full segment is now on YouTube (almost 10 minutes). More next week.

Main Event: Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo beat Taylor Wilde to retain the title. Afterwards, Wilde & KiLynn King beat down Purrazzo until Jordynne Grace made the save. Grace made it clear she wanted a rematch for the title.

Next week: Steve Maclin, Champagne Singh & Shera vs. PCO, TBA & TBA, Moose & Brian Myers vs. Yuya Uemura & Bhupinder Gujjar, Alisha Edwards vs. Jody Threat and a “MAJOR SURPRISE”. (There are RUMORS-and only RUMORS-it could be Trinity Starr aka Trinity Fatu, the former Naomi in WWE)

The next TV tapings are tomorrow & Saturday in Chicago, IL (the first of 3 such tapings this year, the others are in July and the Bound For Glory PPV in October). These should take the promotion to Under Siege, the next monthly live PPV, on 5/26 in London, Ontario, Canada.

4/28 UPDATE: Impact just announced Purrazzo-Grace for the Knockouts Championship at Under Siege AND if Grace loses, she can’t get another title shot while Purrazzo is champion.
