New Japan wrapped up the Super Junior Tag League today with the final day of Block B, a scenario where all 6 teams were tied for the lead but only one could advance.

Today’s event was held at Nagoya International Conference Center Event Hall in Nagoya and can be watched on demand on New Japan World.

The announced paid attendance was 1290.

Match 1: Yasutora Yasuda & Shoma Kato beat Daiki Nagai & Katsuya Murashima. Kato pinned Nagai.

The Finals will be Akira/TJP vs. Fujita/Eagles for an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match against Knight/KUSHIDA in the near future, possibly at Tokyo Dome.

The next event is POWER STRUGGLE, the last blowout event of the year including the Finals, Monday at Osaka Prefectural Gym in Osaka. In other news, broadcast plans for HISTORIC X-OVER 2 on 11/17 have been announced: (Unfortunately) PPV. It will be available on both New Japan World and Stardom World-on New Japan World it will be 3980 Japanese yen in Japan and $34.99 n the US. On Stardom World it will be the same price in Japan and 5500 Japanese yen outside Japan, which as of this post would be $35.97 US. You also must have a My Stardom account to purchase on Stardom World, creating an account is free. The PPV viewing window will be until 7 AM PT/10 AM ET on 11/24, after that it should be released on Stardom World and possibly New Japan World for monthly paying subscribers. So if you can hold out a week or so, wait and save $25 by watching on demand even though it may be edited.
Also coming up on PPV will be a Taiji Ishimori Produced event on 11/12 at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. That will be on New Japan World.

Injury Report: El Absento (Update)

New Japan has just announced injury updates that are developing: El Phantasmo is now off the rest of the current tour. Unspecified health concern. Out indefinitely but the rest of the tour means at least a week. He was scheduled to be part of 2 more events on Saturday (11/2) and 11/4. Boltin Oleg is the replacement for both events.

More as it becomes available.

UPDATE: Phantasmo provided further details today as to his hiatus. Cancer. Had a cancerous tumor removed recently, a “little tumour of cancer” in his own words. He says he is in good spirits and will return to New Japan eventually, just not sure when.

New Japan Pro Wrestling “ROYAL QUEST 4” LIVE Results (10/20/24) (Updated)

New Japan returns to England for ROYAL QUEST 4 today, resuming a new tradition that was quickly disrupted by the coronavirus pendemic. And luckily for the hometown fans, they have a champion to cheer for after Zack Sabre Jr. won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship earlier in the week, and now because of that his scheduled match against SANADA will be for the title. The winner determines who gets the next title shot on 11/4-if Sabre wins, it’s Shingo Takagi. If SANADA wins, it’s Shota Umino. A second title match is set as the Hiroshi Tanahashi Retirement Road begins, as after his 25th Anniversary match last week he gave us the news we didn’t want to hear…he will retire on 1/4/2026 at the Tokyo Dome (but unless he also steps down as President of New Japan he won’t be going away). That road starts today with a NEVER Tag TEam Championship match as Tanahashi & Tomihiro Ishii challenge Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls for the titles. That and much more, with the England representation mostly focused on the first half of the card including some new faces to some of us. We’ll also get to check in with a couple of the Young Lions on their training excursions as Oskar Leube & Yuto Nakahsima will compete against a pair of England-based independent standouts.

Today’s event will be held at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London, England and can be watched LIVE WORLDWIDE on New Japan World in Japanese.
