Injury Report: NO-HEY

Pro Wrestling NOAH has announced a somewhat significant injury change to upcoming events-significant because it’s current GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion YO-HEY. Left orbital floor fracture (eye). Out indefinitely but at least several weeks. He was to have defended the title against Hiromu Takahashi on 8/11. That match has been POSTPONED. It’s not yet known how long YO-HEY will be out. Takahashi will still participate on the 8/11 event.

More as it becomes available.

Pro Wrestling NOAH 7/20/25 LIVE Results (Updated)

Pro Wrestling NOAH holds the second half of their latest 25th Anniversary doubleheader today in Tokyo, which follows the first event earlier today. The matches were decided after the earlier event and the main event will be NEW GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh defending the title against KENTA. Adidtionally, with the New Japan junior heavyweights getting a break for the G1 CLIMAX Tournament, Hiromu Takahashi will participate in today’s event.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. Kenta Kobashi will be a special guest on Japanese commentary. The event is a legit advance sellout including standing room tickets. There are only 6 matches but one is an elimination match and the title match is the main event so it will still be at least a standard length Korakuen event of around 2 1/2 hours, maybe a little longer.

Today’s lineup:
Mohammed Yone & Super Crazy vs. Ulka Sasaki & Junta Miyawaki
Kazuyuki Fujita, Will Kroos & Daiki Odashima vs. Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba & Saxon Huxley
Tetsuya Endo, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf vs. Naomichi Marufuji, Eita & Shuji Kondo
Elimination Match: Jack Morris, Daga, Knull, Tadasuke & Owadasan vs. Kaito Kiyomiya, Galeno, Harutoki, Kai Fujimura & Alejandro
YO-HEY & Yuto Kikuchi vs. Hiromu Takahashi (New Japan) & AMAKUSA
GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh vs. KENTA for the title

Updates below will begin at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 20 minutes before the event.

7:15 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. It looks like we should be going to the venue in 5 minutes.

7:20 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. In addition to the Japanese hosts whose names I didn’t catch, Akitoshi Saito & Go Shiozaki are guests on commentary. Your English hosts are Mark Pickering & Mike Shrouder.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. It’s a legit advance sellout with standing room only tickets also sold out so if it’s like the first event yesterday/today it should be between 1550-1600. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance-a legit advance sellout-was 1592)

The matches should begin in about 15 minutes. During the opening we see a line in the venue for advance ticket purchases for WRESTLE ODYSSEY 2025 on 10/11 at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Once it’s start time, first things first…GRAND SWORD! Our special guest comes out-Kenta Kobashi! Before joining commentary, he heads to the ring first to greet the crowd. He then brings out Kenoh & KENTA, who face each other in the main event. They just stand there as Kobashi briefly speaks before the opening video. And apparently they’ve brought back the definitely-not-natural-chinned/faced G-Man for an English card announcement.

The matches begin at 7:40 PM PT/10:40 PM ET.

Match 1: Mohammed Yone & Super Crazy vs. Ulka Sasaki & Junta Miyawaki. 15 minute time limit
Result: Mohammed Yone & Super Crazy beat Ulka Sasaki & Junta Miyawaki. Yone pinned Miyawaki after Kinniku Muscle Buster. Afterwards, Yone with microphone. He announces a match for his 30th Anniversary event on 8/25: Yone, Naomichi Marufuji & Daisuke Ikeda vs. Go Shiozaki, Shuji Ishikawa & Atsushi Kotoge. So it sounds like that is when Shiozaki may return from his latest extended injury absence.

Match 2: Kazuyuki Fujita, Will Kroos & Daiki Odashima vs. Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba & Saxon Huxley. 20 minute time limit
Result: Manabu Soya, Daiki Inaba & Saxon Hucley beat Kazuyuki Fujita, Will Kroos & Daiki Odashima. Huxley pinned Odashima after a neck hanging bomb.

Match 3: Tetsuya Endo, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf vs. Naomichi Marufuji, Eita & Shuji Kondo. 20 minute time limit
Result: Naomichi Marufuji, Eita & Shuji Kondo beat Tetsuya Endo, Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf. Eita pinned Bane after Imperial Uno. Afterwards, Eita with microphone. Challenge issued for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship with Kondo as his partner.

Match 4: Jack Morris, Daga, Knull, Tadasuke & Owadasan vs. Kaito Kiyomiya, Galeno, Harutoki, Kai Fujimura & Alejandro in an elimination match. No time limit
In progress. Order of elimination: Fujimura by Owadasam (pinfall), Tadasuke by Kiyomiya (pinfall), Alejandro by Knull (over the top rope), Harutoki by Knull (over the top rope), Daga by Kiyomiya (pinfall), Morris by Galeno (pinfall), Galeno & Knull together (over the top rope), Kiyomiya by Owadasan (over the top rope after OZAWA interference).
Result: Team 2000X wins

Intermission.

The matches resume at 8:52 PM PT/11:52 PM ET.

Match 5: YO-HEY & Yuto Kikuchi vs. Hiromu Takahashi (New Japan) & AMAKUSA. Unknown time limit (didn’t hear it announced if it was)
Result: Hiromu Takahashi & AMAKUSA beat YO-HEY & Yuto Kikuchi. Takahashi pinned YO-HEY after Time Bomb. Afterwards, Takahashi with microphone. Challenge issued for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. Accepted.

Main Event: GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh vs. KENTA for the title. 1 Hour time limit
Result: KENTA beat GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh to win the title. KENTA becomes the 48th GHC Heavyweight Champion. And the shortest reign in history by a long shot ends at not even 24 hours. I’d say more like about 16 hours. Post-match, KENTA with microphone. He put over and sent Kenoh off then…next up: Marufuji. Given their extensive history together and against each other in NOAH, why not? Marufuji made sure to shake hands with Kobashi & Saito on commentary before leaving like a good proper VP before KENTA finished his promo to end the show.

The next event is Saturday at Kyoto KBS Hall in Kyoto. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 1 AM PT/4 AM ET (originally this was to be on demand only but it’s been changed to a live broadcast).

UPDATE: The post-event news/fallout:
Go Shiozaki will actually return sooner than 8/25. His official return will be on 8/11 at Culttz Kawasaki in Kanagawa when he faces Harutokl in an N-1 Victory qualifier match.

The 3 title matches hinted at today are now official:
The GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match of Dragon Bane & Alpha Wolf vs. Eita & Shuji Kondo will happen on 8/3 at Kobe Sambo Hal in Kobe.
GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion YO-HEY vs. Hiromu Takahashi for the title will happen on 8/11.
KENTA-Marufuji will happen on 8/16 at Korakuen.

Owadasan is leaving the promotion, at least for a while, to go overseas. His farewell match will be on 8/16 against OZAWA.
