Tokyo Joshi Pro held a special WRESTLE UNIVERSE Members Only event today, with tickets only available for members of the DDT official fan club, which also includes the CyberFight Corporation’s online streaming service for DDT, TJPW, Ganbare Pro and Pro Wrestling NOAH events. This was a more comedy-oriented event than usual.

Today’s event was held at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 219.

Match 1: In a Cooking Match after a series of comedy competitions with the winner determined by referee Daisuke Kiso serving as judge, Yuka Sakazaki beat Moka Miyamoto.

Match 2: Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro beat Raku, Shino Suzuki & Runa Okubo. Nakajima pinned Suzuki with a Northern Lights suplex hold.

Match 3: Max The Impaler beat Kaya Toribami. Potential squash.

Match 4: Vertvixen & Hikari Noa beat Maki Itoh & Toga. Noa pinned Toga after a running neckbreaker drop.

Match 5: In a match with the winner determined by guest Tetsuya Koda, Arisu Endo beat Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe, Hyper Misao & HIMAWARI in a 5-way. A variety of different comedy challenges including what looked like musical chairs.

Main Event: In a costume change match where everyone dressed up as a different TJPW wrestler, Mizuki, Yuki Kamifuku & Pom Harajuku beat Suzume, Mahiro Kiryu & Neko Haruna. Mizuki pinned Kiryu after a diving foot stomp. It looks like Harajuku was dressed as Kamifuku, Kiryu was dressed as Haruna, Suzume was Nao Kakuta, Mizuki was Shoko Nakajima, Haruna was Raku and Kamifuku was Kiryu.

The next event is “PRECIOUS TIME” Saturday at Club eX in Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo. The event will be a one-day 6-women tag team tournament and one non-tournament match which is Sawyer Wreck vs. Moka Miyamoto. There will be no live broadcast.

Tokyo Joshi Pro returned to Osaka for CLIMB OVER ’23 today, a mid-major event headlined by the very odd couple team of Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku challenging for the Princess Tag Team Championship. Harajuku got this unusual chance because Heidi Howitzer was unable to return to Japan for this event.

Today’s event was held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date (probably Tuesday). There was no live broadcast.

The announced paid attendance was 335.

Match 1: Shoko Nakajima, Neko Haruna & Kaya Toribami beat Mahiro Kiryu, Wakana Uehara & Toga. Nakajima pinned Uehara with a Northern Lights suplex hold.

Match 2: Raku beat HIMAWARI & Hyper Misao in a 3-way by pinning HIMAWARI.

Match 3: Vertvixen beat Moka Miyamoto.

Match 4: Yuki Arai, Yuki Aino & Yuki Kamifuku beat Maki Itoh, Hikari Noa & Shino Suzuki. Aino pinned Suzuki after Venus DDT.

Match 5: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe beat Suzume & Arisu Endo. Tatsumi pinned Endo after Twist Of Fate.

Main Event: Princess Tag Team Champions Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki beat Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku to retain the titles. Sakazaki pinned Harajuku after an elbow butt. V1 for the champs. UNHAPPY UNHAPPY! As were surely a lot of internet fans rooting for Wasteland Pom Party (Harajuku has a huge foreign fan base on social media). Next up: TBA, but it won’t be at the Golden Week blowout event because Mizuki has a Princess Of Princess Championship match.

The next event is a WRESTLE UNIVERSE Members Only event tomorrow at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo. Tickets are available only for WRESTLE UNIVERSE members and only members can attend. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 12:30 AM PT/3:30 AM ET.

As part of a special idol/music festival in Shizuoka yesterday, Tokyo Joshi Pro held a mini-event with 3 matches held outdoors.

Yesterday’s event was held at Tsumagoi Resort Sainosato Multi-purpose Plaza in Shizuoka. There was no live broadcast.

Because this was part of a separate event and there were no ticket sales, attendance was not announced.

Match 1: Max The Impaler & Pom Harajuku beat Shoko Nakajima & Yuki Aino. Impaler pinned Aino after a popup lariat.

Match 2: Vertvixen & Hikari Noa beat Maki Itoh & Raku. Vertvixen pinned Raku after Game Over.

Match 3: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe beat Suzume & Shino Suzuki. Watanabe pinned Suzuki after Teardrop.

Tokyo Joshi Pro holds their monthly major event today, which likely will begin the setup for their annual Golden Week blowout event in early May (Golden Week, usually the first week of May, is an annual week-long holiday in Japan). There are 2 title matches scheduled today-first up, International Princess Champion Rika Tatsumi defends the title against Vertvixen, the latest in a growing number of US independent stars (and All Elite Wrestling semi-regulars) getting to visit Japan for the first time in their careers as Japan has re-opened its doors post-pandemic to foreigners, providing more dream opportunities for foreign wrestlers to come to Japan. In the main event, Princess Of Princess Champion Mizuki defends the title for the first time against Nao Kakuta, who had the champ’s number recently in tag matches and will now try to win the top prize. On the undercard, Yuki Arai returns for her first match in about a month and, in an interesting twist, her SKE48 teammate Shiori Aoki will be making her debut as referee for that match. With fellow teammate Marika Tani on commentary today this one promises to be a lot of fun, if not perhaps somewhat swervy. Finally we’ll also see the next Princess Tag Team Championship challengers together for the first time-Heidi Howitzer couldn’t return to Japan this time so Max The Impaler recruited a new Wasteland War Prry partner, and a most unlikely one…Pom Harajuku!?! When we last saw them Max was carrying Harajuku off to a worrisome and uncertain fate. And now they form perhaps the most odd couple of tag teams! Do not miss this one!

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. You can also watch the first 2 matches FOR FREE on YouTube. The Japanese commentary team will be Haruo Murata, Kagehiro Osano, Sayoko Mita & special guest Marika Tani (SKE48). The English commentary team will be Chris Brookes (DDT) & Drew Parker. As there is a special post-event party planned at a nearby venue they’re on a tight clock for event length although there is flexibility, regardless I expect today’s event to run just under 2 1/2 hours today, maybe closer to 2 1/4 hours.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. They are once again at 50% capacity because of when the event was announced, but this is the last time at the venue, next time it’s full capacity going forward. So that will keep the number low again, and there were same-day tickets available. Barring a strong walk-up I’ll guess 500-550.

The matches should begin in 25-30 minutes. As planned, opening announcements begin at 7:25 PM PT.

They announce a one day 6-woman tag team tournament for 4/29. 8 teams. First team is Mizuki, Yuka Sakazaki & Shino Suzuki. Second team is Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta & Wakana Uehara. Third team is Miu Watanabe, Rika Tatsumi & HIMAWARI. Fourth team is Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao & Kaya Toribami. Fifth team is Maki Itoh, Haru Fujo & Runa Okubo. 6th team is Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku. 7th team is Yuki Kamifuku, Mahiro Kiryu & Toga. Which means the 8th and final team is Suzume, Arisu Endo & Neko Haruna. So the only regular roster member not in the tournament (excluding Miyu Yamashita) is Moka Miyamoto, who will instead face Sawyer Wreck in a non-tournament match. The winning trio gets a prize of a 1-year supple of Nivea Body Wash. They can thank Saki Akai for that.
In July, the Tokyo Princess Cup Tournament returns. This is a singles tournament. 7/15-7/17 and 7/22 at Ryogoku KFC Hall, 7/29, 8/12 and 8/13 at Korakuen.
A Hyper Misao Produced event will be held on 5/25 at Kitazawa Town Hall.
Starting next month, streamers and hanging of support banners will again be allowed at Korakuen Hall events going forward. TBA for other venues.

After their performance, a special Up Up Girls solo live event is announced for 6/10 at Shinjuku Face.

Tokyo Joshi Pro is back from their USA debut (but reportedly it was quite an adventure getting back to Japan from Los Angeles…some apparently wound up in Washington, DC after their flights got cancelled!) and continues their spring house show tour today with the first event post-USA and last one before their next big event next week. Not all the roster came back as Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Yuka Sakazaki remained overseas for now with Yamashita not expected back until at least June. They also added a pre-event signing ceremony for next week’s Princess Of Princess Championship match between Mizuki & Nao Kakuta to lead off the event.

There was also a last-minute change to today’s event, what had been a 3-way is now a single match between Hyper Misao & HIMAWARI because of no Raku, who is off due to the ever-vague “poor physical condition”. She posted on Twitter earlier that she will be back next week.

Today’s event will be held at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. With mostly tag matches and the signing ceremony this event will run longer than most weekend house shows-I anticipate the total running time being just over 2 hours, closer to 2 1/4 hours.

A table is set up in the ring as we’ll begin with the Mizuki-Nao Kakuta contract signing for 4/15.

The matches should begin in about 30 minutes. Contract signing lasts about 10 minutes and pre-event announcements begin at 8:40 PM PT to be followed by Up Up Girls. During announcements, Max The Impaler & Vertvixen were announced for 4/16 and there will be a screening event in the near future (it will be after the 4/29 event at Shinagawa Club eX).

With the majority of the card being shifted due to 3 unexpected absences today (Raku, Hyper Misao, Yuki Aino) this wound up being a much shorter event than expected, checking in at only about 1 hour, 45 minutes. All 3 missing wrestlers should be back next time out though. It was a tough week of travel back from the USA as things did not go well due to flight cancellations and trouble getting out of Los Angeles, CA with some even being diverted all the way to Washington, DC. So they get a free pass and at least they shared a lot of great photos on social media…Endo acting like she just won the lottery holding a 40-count box of Rice Krispies Treats in a Target was just priceless.

The next event is “STAND ALONE ’23” on 4/15 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Based on pre-sale ticket schedules, this will be the last time they are only at 50% capacity in the venue (starting in May they’ll be back to full capacity). Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 4/14 at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET.

Tokyo Joshi Pro has announced a last minute change to today’s event card because Raku is now off. The ever-vague poor physical condition. She was to have faced Hyper Misao & HIMAWARI in a 3-way. It’s now just Misao vs. HIMAWARI.

The event also will now start with a public contract signing for the Princess Of Princess Championship Match between Mizuki & Nao Kakuta on 4/15. The event begins tonight at 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT and streams live on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

As part of WrestleCon weekend, Tokyo Joshi Pro made their US debut today with about half the roster participating.

Today’s event was held at the Globe Theater in Los Angeles, CA and can be watched on demand on FITE for $19.99. It is not available on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 665, a legit sellout.

Match 5: International Princess Champion Rika Tatsumi beat Billie Starkz to retain the title. V1 for Tatsumi.

Match 6: Mizuki & Yuka Sakazaki beat Princess Tag Team Champions Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh to win the titles. Mizuki & Sakazaki become the 13th Princess Tag Team Champions. Mizuki pinned Itoh after a diving foot stomp.

All but Yamashita, Itoh & Sakazaki are now headed back to Japan as those 3 will stay in the US a little longer. Yamashita is not expected back in TJPW until June.

The next event is 4/8 at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 4/7 at 8:30 PM PT/11:30 PM ET.

A bit of Tokyo Joshi Pro news today:

The next foreigner to visit Japan will be Sawyer Wreck from the US. A giant of a woman by Japanese height standards at about 6’2″, she trained at the 3D Academy under WWE Hall Of Famers Bully Ray & D-Von Dudley and currently has 4 years of experience, primarily competing in Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) these days. That experience includes a GCW match against Maki Itoh.

Wreck has been added to the just-announced TJPW INSPIRATION event on 5/1 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo and will face Hikari Noa in a deathmatch. Specific deathmatch type/fotmat is TBA. After that, Wreck will challenge the Princess Of Princess Champion (the 4/15 Mizuki-Nao Kakuta winner) for the title on 5/5 at Korakuen Hall (TJPW’s annual major Golden Week event). That’s the first match set for 5/5. Yuki Arai participation has also been announced.

The rest of the 5/1 card was also announced, as is usually the case with TJPW INSPIRATION events this is a short 4-match event with mostly comedy/unusual matches:

UPDATE: Some of the talent not coming to the US this week will be in a special match Sunday at GOTANDA G6/G7, an all-day music festival in Japan. The match will be Moka Miyamoto & Neko Haruna vs. Mahiro Kiryu & HIMAWARI.

UPDATE 2: On 3/29 TJPW announced, in revealing the first post-US lineup for 4/8 (Ryogoku KFC Hall, Tokyo) that Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Yuka Sakazaki will not return to Japan for this event. They will stay abroad on excursions a little longer, but Yamashita likely won’t return to Japan until at least June. She already has some US independent dates set for mid-April. This may affect the Princess Tag Team Championship she currently holds with Itoh. Sakazaki may be back with All Elite Wrestling and/or Ring Of Honor for another stint as she will be on the ROH PPV Friday.

UPDATE 3: Yamashita is now schedules to return to Japan for a 6/25 TJPW event at Nishitetsu Hall in Fukuoka. However, this is subject to change as her International schedule is not set in stone.

UPDATE 4: TJPW has announced on Twitter that SKE48 member Marika Tani will be making her next semi-regular appearance as a guest on Japanese commentary for the 4/15 event on WRESTLE UNIVERSE, which features teammate Yuki Arai in tag team action and fellow teammate Shiori Aoki making her debut as a referee for said match. The event will also have English commentary with DDT’s Chris Brookes & Drew Parker.

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues their spring house show tour today with a sendoff event for about half the roster before they head to the US for their debut event next week, except for Miyu Yamashita and Maki Itoh who are already in Canada and thus will miss this event (Yamashita may be part of today’s Impact Wrestling TV tapings). There won’t be much build to anything really except perhaps in the main event now that we know NEW Princess Of Princess Champion Mizuki’s first challenger will be Nao Kakuta, to happen at the monthly Korakuen Hall event next month. But with the recent influx of new debuting talent they’ll all get more chances to gain experience today and perhaps victories as well.

Today’s event will be held at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. With no matches having more than a 20 minute time limit this will be a standard short house show that should have a total runtime of just under 2 hours.

Tokyo Joshi Pro began the spring 2023 house show tour today with the first post-GRAND PRINCESS event ahead of some talent heading to the US for next week’s debut event.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 207.

During opening announcements, US women’s independent wrestler Vertvixen was announced for 3 events in April. They also announced SKE48 member Shiori Aoki will make her debut as referee in a tag match featuring SKE48 teammate Yuki Arai. (Specifically it will be Arai & HIMAWARI vs. Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao)

Match 1: Suzume beat Shino Suzuki.

Match 2: Shoko Nakajima, Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI beat Arisu Endo, Haru Fujo & Runa Okubo. Nakajima pinned Fujo.

Match 3: Max The Impaler & Heidi Howitzer beat Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku. Impaler pinned Harajuku after a short range lariat.

Match 4: Rika Tatsumi, Miu Watanabe & Raku beat Yuki Kamifuku, Mahiro Kiryu & Toga. Tatsumi pinned Toga after Twost Of Fate.

Match 5: Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh beat Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami. Yamashita pinned Toribami after a right high kick.

Main Event: Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta & Yuki Aino beat Mizuki, Yuka Sakazaki & Neko Haruna. Kakuta pinned Haruna after Shiden Kai. Afterwards, Kakuta made a challenge to Mizuki for the Princess Of Princess Championship. That match will happen on 4/15 at Korakuen Hall.
