Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling 12/3/22 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the Fall ’22 house show tour today with a midday matinee event. The build should begin to the next Princess Of Princess Championship match, which should be another epic match between Yuka Sakazaki & Miyu Yamashita, undoubtedly the top two stars of TJPW, but also more international focus as Millie McKenzie will make another appearance before returning to England, and Yamashita will follow in January as she returns to Pro Wrestling EVE to defend the EVE Championship. Also expected back today is Raku after she lost her Princess Tag Team Championship chance last week because of coronavirus, but no Nao Kakuta again as she will miss the event due to her stage performance schedule.

Today’s event will be held at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. If you have not taken advantage of the 2-week free trial for first-time subscribers, THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE! The offer ends after this weekend. The cost has gone up a bit since last month but is still a bargain at around $6.50 US/month. With 6 matches today and half being single matches, this will be another short event, I anticipate the entire event running just under 2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Mizuki vs. Neko Haruna
Rika Tatsumi vs. Pom Harajuku
Miu Watanabe vs. Mahiro Kiryu
Yuki Kamifuku & Millie McKenzie vs. Shoko Nakajima & Suzume
Yuki Aino & Raku vs. Hyper Misao & Kaya Toribami
Yuka Sakazaki, Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo vs. Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Moka Miyamoto

Updates below will begin at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.

9:58 PM ET UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event concludes, but there’s no vocal cheering so potentially full capacity, I’m going to guess it’ll be around 200 as the visible seating around the ring looks completely full (only about 2 rows).

The matches should begin in about 10 minutes.

The matches begin at 10:11 PM ET. Looks like it’s hard camera view only today (it’s a very small venue).

Match 1: Mizuki vs. Neko Haruna. 15 minute time limit
Result: Mizuki beat Neko Haruna

Match 2: Yuki Aino & Raku vs. Hyper Misao & Kaya Toribami. 20 minute time limit
Result: Yuki Aino & Raku beat Hyper Misao & Kaya Toribami. Raku pinned Toribami after Doctor Yellow.

Match 3: Rika Tatsumi vs. Pom Harajuku. 15 minute time limit
Result: Rika Tatsumi beat Pom Harajuku

Match 4: Miu Watanabe vs. Mahiro Kiryu. 15 minute time limit
Result: Miu Watanabe beat Mahiro Kiryu

Match 5: Yuki Kamifuku & Millie McKenzie vs. Shoko Nakajima & Suzume. 20 minute time limit
Result; Yuki Kamifuku & Millie McKenzie beat Shoko Nakajima & Suzume. McKenzie pinned Suzume after a release German suplex. Afterwards, McKenzie stayed in the ring for a few extra moments to show appreciation to the fans as this is her last appearance in TJPW for now before returning to England.

Main Event: Yuka Sakazaki, Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo vs. Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Moka Miyamoto. 20 minute time limit
Result: Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Moka Miyamoto beat Yuka Sakazaki, Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo. Yamashita pinned Endo after Attitude Adjustment. During the live broadcast of this match there were technical issues that began to emerge during intros, once the match began I noticed the audio was notably off-sync with and was behind the video by a good 2-3 seconds. Hopefully this will be resolved soon but it might result in the event video, or at least the main event, being taken down for a time to fix.

This event went faster than expected at just 1 hour, 45 minutes.

The next event is 12/10 at Hamamatsu City Entetsu Hall in Shizuoka for a CITY CIRCUIT event. Already announced is EVE Champion Miyu Yamashita vs. “The Unbreakable” Rio for the title. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 12/9 at 11 PM ET/8 PM PT.

UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 210, a super full house/very near sellout.

UPDATE 2: TJPW and WRESTLE UNIVERSE have confirmed the technical difficulties with today’s live broadcast and the video has been removed and is not available on demand. A resolved version will be uploaded at a later date.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “ALL RISE ’22” Results (11/27/22)

Tokyo Joshi Pro runs their monthly major event today, and there’s a big international flavor to tonight’s show as wrestlers from around the world will be taking part. The 3 title matches feature Miyu Yamashita’s first defense of the EVE Championship she won recently in England, as Pro Wrestling EVE member Millie McKenzie tries to take the title back to her home promotion. The main event sees Princess Of Princess Champion Yuka Sakazaki defending the title against Billie Starkz, a 17-yes, 17-year-old from the USA. And finally we get another helping of AA Eye Candy as Yuki Arai & Saki Akai defend the Princess Tag Team Championship.

There were some late changes to the card earlier this week because Raku is now off due to coronavirus. She was to have teamed with Yuki Aino to challenge for the Princess Tag Team Championship. But the big winner in all this is Pom Harajuku, who is the replacement and now gets her first title shot after 4 years in the promotion. Can she make the most of the opportunity or will she have too much comedy in her and not take it seriously enough? The change has also resulted in a 6-woman match that Harajuku had been in being changed to a handicap match.

Today’s event will be held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English. The Japanese commentary will be the regular Samurai! TV trio of Haruo Murata, Kagehiro Osano & Sayoko Mita. The English commentary team will be Hiroshi Arai & Christelle Ciari. Vocal cheering by fans will be allowed at this event. This should be a longer than normal event with 8 matches (even though the majority are single matches) and 3 title matches so I anticipate the event’s runtime being about 2 1/2 hours (there is a special post-event party nearby though which may affect plans).

Today’s lineup:
Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao vs. Mahiro Kiryu, Neko Haruna & Kaya Toribami
Suzume vs. Yoshiko Hasegawa
Mizuki vs. Arisu Endo
Maki Itoh & HIkari Noa vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Nao Kakuta
Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe vs. Moka Miyamoto & Juria Nagano
EVE Champion Miyu Yamashita vs. Millie McKenzie for the title
Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai vs. Pom Harajuku & Yuki Aino for the titles
Princess Of Princess Champion Yuka Sakazaki vs. Billie Starkz for the title

Updates below will begin at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT. The opening announcements are scheduled to begin at 9:20 PM ET/6:20 PM PT.

9 PM ET UPDATE: The live stream has just launched. Updates will begin when we go live to the venue in about 15 minutes.

9:20 PM ET UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Your Japanese hosts are Haruo Murata, Kagehiro Osano & Sayoko Mita. Your English hosts are Hiroshi Arai & Christelle Ciari.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event, but it looks like a good crowd so far. It’ll be capped at 700 due to vocal cheering being allowed and looks like it’s going to be close to that, at least 600-625.

The opening announcements are underway. The matches should begin in 10-15 minutes. During the announcements Mizuki comes out to announce her 10th Anniversary Match-Mizuki & Rika Tatsumi vs. Yuka Sakazaki & Nao Kakuta on 12/15 at Shinjuku Face. Then Miu Watanabe comes out and they reveal her next International Princess Championship challenger-Trish Adora (Ring Of Honor/All Elite Wrestling). That match will be on 1/4 at Korakuen Hall. Up up Girls performance follows as Hikari Noa & Shiho join Watanabe (no Raku today-coronavirus).
The matches begin at 9:45 PM ET.

Match 1; Suzume vs. Yoshiko Hasegawa (Ganbare Pro). 15 minute time limit
Result: Suzume beat Yoshiko Hasegawa

Match 2: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao vs. Mahiro Kiryu, Neko Haruna & Kaya Toribami in a handicap match. 20 minute time limit
Result: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao beat Mahiro Kiryu, Neko Haruna & Kaya Toribami. Nakajima pinned Haruna with a Northern Lights suplex hold.

Match 3: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe vs. Moka Miyamoto & Juria Nagano. 20 minute time limit
Result: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe beat Moka Miyamoto & Juria Nagano. Tatsumi beat Nagano with a dragon sleeper hold. (Just before this, Tatsumi appeared to botch a backbreaker on Nagano. They re-did the spot immediately)

Match 4: Mizuki vs. Arisu Endo (with new entrance music). 15 minute time limit
Result: Mizuki beat Arisu Endo

Match 5: Maki Itoh & HIkari Noa vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Nao Kakuta. 20 minute time limit

Match 7: Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai vs. Pom Harajuku & Yuki Aino for the titles. 30 minute time limit
Result: Princess Tag Team Champions Yuki Arai & Saki Akai beat Pom Harajuku & Yuki Aino to retain the titles. Arai pinned Harajuku after Finally. V3 for the champs. Next up: A video plays…Wasteland War Party. Max The Impaler and Heidi Howitzer. That match will happen on 1/4. And I’m worried…

Main Event: Princess Of Princess Champion Yuka Sakazaki vs. Billie Starkz (Jersey Championship Wrestling-USA) for the title. 30 minute time limit
Result: Princess Of Princess Champion Yuka Sakazaki beat Billie Starkz to retain the title. V1 for Sakazaki. Next up…oh yeah…Yamashita! The only other 3-time Princess Of Princess Champion wants to make it 4-time! Sakazaki was not excited about this and doesn’t want it, but…1/4 main event? We’ll find out shortly.

The next event is Saturday at Yokohama Radiant Hall in Yokohama. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Friday at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.

UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 657, a super full house/very near sellout. Roughly 94% full with reduced capacity for vocal cheering allowed.

BREAKING: TJPW Title Match Change…AND…

Tokyo Joshi Pro has announced a change to a title match at ALL RISE ’22 this weekend-the Princess Tag Team Championship match has been changed because challenger Raku is now off. Coronavirus. She was to have teamed with Yuki Aino to challenge Yuki Arai & Saki Akai for the titles. Pom Harajuku is the replacement and the match will now be her 4th Anniversary match (her debut was today Japan time in 2018) AND the first career title shot for the comedy wrestler.

AND…a huge announcement for March…GRAND PRINCESS ’23! TJPW’s Ariake Arena debut! They will visit the new Olympic venue in Tokyo for the first time on March 18, 2023, about a year to the date after their Ryogoku Kokugikan debut for their biggest event to date. They plan to run the venue at 50% capacity.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 11/20/22 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the Fall 2022 house show tour today with a final preview of their next major event coming up next weekend.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 215. Interestingly, this was a late day event that ran opposite the New Japan/Stardom joint event and not the usual midday matinee.

Before the event, a public signing ceremony for next weekend’s title matches was held.

There were apparently some unannounced last-second changes to the card as, based on the Up Up Girls performance and 3rd match, no Hikari Noa. New Up Up Girls member-in-training Shino took part in today’s performance in her place. It’s not known what happened to Noa. She was to have faced Mizuki & Mahiro Kiryu in a 3-way. It became a single match instead.

Match 1: Miu Watanabe beat Kaya Toribami.

Match 2: Hyper Misao beat Pom Harajuku.

Match 3: Mizuki beat Mahiro Kiryu.

Match 4: Yuki Aino & Raku beat Shoko Nakajima & Neko Haruna. Raku pinned Haruna after Sunrise.

Match 5: Rika Tatsumi, Yuki Kamifuku & Nao Kakuta beat Suzume, Moka Miyamoto & Arisu Endo. Kakuta pinned Edno after Shiden Kai.

Main Event: Billie Starkz & Millie McKenzie beat Yuka Sakazaki & Miyu Yamashita. McKenzie pinned Yamashita with an arm-mounted Saito suplex.

The next event is “ALL RISE ’22” on 11/27 at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Saturday at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT.

DDT Card Changes for Upcoming Events

DDT has announced a few card changes for upcoming events over the next week:

First up is Friday at Korakuen Hall-those deplorable Pheromones will be down a man because Danshoku Dieno is now off. Fever. He was to have teamed with Yuki Iino, Yumehito Imanari & Koju Takeda to face Akito, Masa Takanashi, Antonio Honda & Gorgeous Matsuno. It’s now a handicap match. It is a pre-show dark match.

Yuna Mizumori, who normally competes in ChocoPro, is now off Tuesday’s Masa Takanashi Independent Event. Meniscus injury. She was to have teamed with Yasu Urano to face Gota Ihashi & Shinsetsu Rubber Man. SAKI (this is not Saki Akai) the replacement.

Yoshiko Hasegawa (Ganbare) & Juria Nagano have been added to Tokyo Joshi Pro on 11/27 at Korakuen Hall. Matches TBA.

TJPW News: Notes From England Weekend

Tokyo Joshi Pro has provided a recap of Miyu Yamashita & Hyper Misao visiting England yesterday for a doubleheader in Pro Wrestling EVE (they missed the TJPW event in Kyoto as a result):
At the first event, Yamashita beat Millie McKenzie to earn an EVE Championship match against current champion Alex Windsor at the second event. At that second event, Yamashita beat Windsor to win the title. McKenzie made an immediate challenge and Yamashita accepted, but stated it will happen in Japan. That match will happen at ALL RISE ’22 on 11/27 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
Misao teamed with Session Moth Martina at the first event to challenge EVE Tag Team Champions Leah O’Reilly & Sky Smithson for the titles. In the end, Misao & Martina lost when Misao hit Hypami Returns on Smithson but O’Reilly made the save and a subsequent spray attack by Misao & Martina backfired. Smithson finished with Smithson Effect and the champs retained the titles. At the second event, in what appeared to be a hardcore comedy match, Misao beat Nightshade after Hypami Returns on a chair. Misao’s comedy “hero bicycle” also made the trip to Japan and appeared during this match.

Yamashita & Misao will be back for the next TJPW event, which is Sunday at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo to continue the Fall ’22 house show tour.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “CITY CIRCUIT-Yuki Arai Local Triumphant Performance” Results (11/13/22) (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the CITY CIRCUIT series today with a return to Kyoto, the hometown of SKE48 member and Princess Tag Team Champion Yuki Arai. Appropriately enough, she is the featured star today and that means we get another hearty helping of AA Eye Candy as fellow Princess Tag Team Champion Saki Akai will be joining Arai for the main event as they face Miu Watanabe & Pom Harajuku in a NON-TITLE match. There is a bit of notable missing talent today as Miyu Yamashita & Hyper Misao will miss the event due to competing in England and Nao Kakuta will miss the event due to a stage/theater performance.

Today’s event will be held at Kyoto KBS Hall in Kyoto and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There probably will not be any commentary. The event is a legit advance sellout. The card is split evenly between single and tag matches so between that, and a DDT event shortly afterwards, this could be a quick event. I anticipate the total runtime being just under 2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Shoko Nakajima vs. Suzume & Neko Haruna in a 3-way
Moka Miyamoto vs. Kaya Toribami
Yuki Aino & Raku vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu
Rika Tatsumi vs. Arisu Endo
Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki vs. Maki Itoh & Hikari Noa
Yuki Arai & Saki Akai vs. Miu Watanabe & Pom Harajuku

10:25 PM ET UPDATE: Live results begin now.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event but it’s a legit advance sellout. Vocal cheering is allowed so that will keep the number low, probably 300-400. We also have a hard-camera only setup.

The winners’ post-match promo was interrupted before it even began by Raku & Yuki Aino. Challenge issued for the Princess Tag Team Championship. Accepted. We should soon find out when it will happen. Based on the current schedule I would tentatively expect 11/26, the next major event.

The next event is 11/20 at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin at 3:45 AM ET/12:45 AM PT.

UPDATE: The tag title match will happen on 11/27 (11/26 US time).
