BREAKING: TJPW Title Match Change…AND…

Tokyo Joshi Pro has announced a change to a title match at ALL RISE ’22 this weekend-the Princess Tag Team Championship match has been changed because challenger Raku is now off. Coronavirus. She was to have teamed with Yuki Aino to challenge Yuki Arai & Saki Akai for the titles. Pom Harajuku is the replacement and the match will now be her 4th Anniversary match (her debut was today Japan time in 2018) AND the first career title shot for the comedy wrestler.

AND…a huge announcement for March…GRAND PRINCESS ’23! TJPW’s Ariake Arena debut! They will visit the new Olympic venue in Tokyo for the first time on March 18, 2023, about a year to the date after their Ryogoku Kokugikan debut for their biggest event to date. They plan to run the venue at 50% capacity.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 11/20/22 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the Fall 2022 house show tour today with a final preview of their next major event coming up next weekend.

Today’s event was held at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE.

The announced paid attendance was 215. Interestingly, this was a late day event that ran opposite the New Japan/Stardom joint event and not the usual midday matinee.

Before the event, a public signing ceremony for next weekend’s title matches was held.

There were apparently some unannounced last-second changes to the card as, based on the Up Up Girls performance and 3rd match, no Hikari Noa. New Up Up Girls member-in-training Shino took part in today’s performance in her place. It’s not known what happened to Noa. She was to have faced Mizuki & Mahiro Kiryu in a 3-way. It became a single match instead.

Match 1: Miu Watanabe beat Kaya Toribami.

Match 2: Hyper Misao beat Pom Harajuku.

Match 3: Mizuki beat Mahiro Kiryu.

Match 4: Yuki Aino & Raku beat Shoko Nakajima & Neko Haruna. Raku pinned Haruna after Sunrise.

Match 5: Rika Tatsumi, Yuki Kamifuku & Nao Kakuta beat Suzume, Moka Miyamoto & Arisu Endo. Kakuta pinned Edno after Shiden Kai.

Main Event: Billie Starkz & Millie McKenzie beat Yuka Sakazaki & Miyu Yamashita. McKenzie pinned Yamashita with an arm-mounted Saito suplex.

The next event is “ALL RISE ’22” on 11/27 at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin Saturday at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT.

DDT Card Changes for Upcoming Events

DDT has announced a few card changes for upcoming events over the next week:

First up is Friday at Korakuen Hall-those deplorable Pheromones will be down a man because Danshoku Dieno is now off. Fever. He was to have teamed with Yuki Iino, Yumehito Imanari & Koju Takeda to face Akito, Masa Takanashi, Antonio Honda & Gorgeous Matsuno. It’s now a handicap match. It is a pre-show dark match.

Yuna Mizumori, who normally competes in ChocoPro, is now off Tuesday’s Masa Takanashi Independent Event. Meniscus injury. She was to have teamed with Yasu Urano to face Gota Ihashi & Shinsetsu Rubber Man. SAKI (this is not Saki Akai) the replacement.

Yoshiko Hasegawa (Ganbare) & Juria Nagano have been added to Tokyo Joshi Pro on 11/27 at Korakuen Hall. Matches TBA.

TJPW News: Notes From England Weekend

Tokyo Joshi Pro has provided a recap of Miyu Yamashita & Hyper Misao visiting England yesterday for a doubleheader in Pro Wrestling EVE (they missed the TJPW event in Kyoto as a result):
At the first event, Yamashita beat Millie McKenzie to earn an EVE Championship match against current champion Alex Windsor at the second event. At that second event, Yamashita beat Windsor to win the title. McKenzie made an immediate challenge and Yamashita accepted, but stated it will happen in Japan. That match will happen at ALL RISE ’22 on 11/27 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
Misao teamed with Session Moth Martina at the first event to challenge EVE Tag Team Champions Leah O’Reilly & Sky Smithson for the titles. In the end, Misao & Martina lost when Misao hit Hypami Returns on Smithson but O’Reilly made the save and a subsequent spray attack by Misao & Martina backfired. Smithson finished with Smithson Effect and the champs retained the titles. At the second event, in what appeared to be a hardcore comedy match, Misao beat Nightshade after Hypami Returns on a chair. Misao’s comedy “hero bicycle” also made the trip to Japan and appeared during this match.

Yamashita & Misao will be back for the next TJPW event, which is Sunday at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo to continue the Fall ’22 house show tour.

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “CITY CIRCUIT-Yuki Arai Local Triumphant Performance” Results (11/13/22) (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the CITY CIRCUIT series today with a return to Kyoto, the hometown of SKE48 member and Princess Tag Team Champion Yuki Arai. Appropriately enough, she is the featured star today and that means we get another hearty helping of AA Eye Candy as fellow Princess Tag Team Champion Saki Akai will be joining Arai for the main event as they face Miu Watanabe & Pom Harajuku in a NON-TITLE match. There is a bit of notable missing talent today as Miyu Yamashita & Hyper Misao will miss the event due to competing in England and Nao Kakuta will miss the event due to a stage/theater performance.

Today’s event will be held at Kyoto KBS Hall in Kyoto and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There probably will not be any commentary. The event is a legit advance sellout. The card is split evenly between single and tag matches so between that, and a DDT event shortly afterwards, this could be a quick event. I anticipate the total runtime being just under 2 hours.

Today’s lineup:
Shoko Nakajima vs. Suzume & Neko Haruna in a 3-way
Moka Miyamoto vs. Kaya Toribami
Yuki Aino & Raku vs. Yuki Kamifuku & Mahiro Kiryu
Rika Tatsumi vs. Arisu Endo
Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki vs. Maki Itoh & Hikari Noa
Yuki Arai & Saki Akai vs. Miu Watanabe & Pom Harajuku

Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling “The Mountain Top 2022” Results (10/29/22)

Tokyo Joshi Pro heads to Osaka today for a mid-major event, heading to the city for the first time in about 6 months. In addition to All Elite Wrestling’s Willow Nightingale getting to make her Japan debut (it was postponed from earlier this year due to visa issues), the main event features International Princess Champion Miu Watanabe vs. Moka Miyamoto for the title. Miyamoto has gotten the better of Watanabe over the last month, but all in tag matches and never pinning the champion. Now that it’s one-on-one, can the Up Up Girl back up her stunning title-winning upset with that important first successful defense?

Today’s event will be held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. It’s not yet known if there will be commentary but I am assuming there will be Japanese commentary. This is the last part of a live wrestling tripleheader along with New Japan’s PPV and All Elite Wrestling Rampage, so it you’re trying to last the whole thing in the eastern US have plenty of caffeine ready for this overnighter, I anticipate this event running about 2 1/2 hours. (It went exactly 2 hours)

Today’s lineup:
Yuki Aino & Raku vs. Nao Kakuta & Yoshiko Hasegawa
Miyu Yamashita & Juria Nagano vs. Mahiro Kiryu & Kaya Toribami
Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku vs. Mizuki, Suzume & Neko Haruna

11:25 PM ET UPDATE: Live updates begin now.

We are LIVE from Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka, Japan. It sounds like vocal cheering is allowed today. There is no commentary.

The announced paid attendance was 400, a legit sellout. Further reduced max capacity due to vocal cheering allowed, plus Osaka has been stricter than most about capacity limits since the pandemic began. Also, the view on the stream was from the hard camera only despite at least one video cameraman at ringside when the matches began.

During the opening announcements, Saki Akai is announced for the 11/13 event in Kyoto. Hopefully that means more AA Eye Candy!

The matches begin at 11:40 PM ET.

TJPW News: Princess Of Princess Title Match Announced

Tokyo Joshi Pro announced today that NEW Princess Of Princess Champion Yuka Sakazaki will defend the title on 11/27 at Korakuen Hall, the promotion’s next major event. But for now the opponent has only been billed as TBA but with one big teaser-it will be a foreigner making their first ever trip to Japan. So it could be from All Elite Wrestling or Pro Wrestling EVE, but that rules out Hikaru Shida, Thunder Rosa, Willow Nightingale, Alex Windsor, Leah O’Reilly and Max The Impaler among other potential notable names from both the US and England, and also another potential rematch with Shoko Nakajima (who Sakazaki beat to win the title earier this month) and Miyu Yamashita (the only other 3-time champion). Time to research for perhaps some Serena Dirty Deebs or maybe a Tony! Toni! Tone! Storm is on the horizon…
