Tokyo Joshi Pro 8/25/24 Results (Updated)

Tokyo Joshi Pro wrapped up the Tokyo Princess Cup today with the Finals.

Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 604)

During opening announcements, it was announced that Yoshiko Hasegawa regular participation will begin in September. Hasegawa is currently a freelancer.

Match 1: Runa Okubo beat Chika Nanase.

Match 2: Pom Harajuku beat Shino Suzuki.

Match 3: Mizuki & Haru Kazashiro beat Mei Suruga & Uta Takami. Mizuki pinned Takami with Cutie Special.

Match 4: Shoko Nakajima beat Yoshiko Hasegawa.

Match 5: Zara Zakher & Moka Miyamoto beat Rika Tatsumi & Kaya Toribami. Zakher pinned Toribami after Control Z.

Match 6: Miu Watanabe, Yuki Arai, Suzume & Arisu Endo beat Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Kira Summer. Endo pinned Uehara after The Tenth Law. Afterwards, Endo issued an International Princess Championship challenge to Arai even though they were teammates and won. That match will happen on 9/8 in Nagoya.

Main Event: Tokyo Princess Cup Finals: Ryo Mizunami beat Yuki Aino to win the tournament. That’s a shocker-an outsider wins it all (Mizunami is a freelancer). As a result, Mizunami will probably get the next shot at Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe, and I would expect it at WRESTLE PRINCESS 5. Updates to follow.

The next event is “Always Be A Challenger ’24” on 9/8 at Nagoya International Conference Center Event Hall in Nagoya. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 9/7 at 8:15 PM PT/11:15 PM ET.

UPDATE: It’s now official. Mizunami gets the title shot against Watanabe at WRESTLE PRINCESS 5 on 9/22.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 8/23/24 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro held the Semifinals of the Tokyo Princess Cup today.

The announced paid attendance was 258.

A significant portion of the roster-Miyu Yamashita, Raku, Mahiro Kiryu and more-were absent due to being in England for an event tomorrow morning.

Match 1: Wakana Uehara beat Kira Summer.

Match 2: Rika Tatsumi beat Chika Nanase.

Match 3: Yuki Kamifuku & Runa Okubo beat Mizuki & Pom Harajuku. Kamifuku pinned Harajuku after Fameasser.

Match 4: Suzume & Arisu Endo beat Shoko Nakajima & Uta Takami. Suzume pinned Takami after Mikazuki Meteor Shower.

Match 5: Miu Watanabe, Shino Suzuki & Haru Kazashiro beat Moka Miyamoto, Kaya Toribami & Toga. Watanabe pinned Toga.

Tokyo Princess Cup Semifinals:
Match 6: Yuki Aino beat Zara Zakher.
Main Event: Ryo Mizunami beat Yuki Arai. Obviously heartbreaking for me.

As a result, the Finals will be Aino vs. Mizunami.

The Final is Sunday at Korakuen Hall. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English will begin Saturday at 7:10 PM PT/10:10 PM ET. I hope to do live results but this may not be possible due to scheduling conflicts that could keep me from joining until the event is in progress.

The next event is “EVE x TJPW: Japan & UK Wrestling Unite!” tomorrow at Conway Hall in London, England. The event will be streamed live only on the EVE YouTube channel but requires a paid membership to watch, which costs $9.99/month, and will begin at 6 AM PT/9 AM ET.

Tokyo Joshi Pro 8/10/24 Results

Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the Tokyo Princess Cup today with the Quarterfinals. After today the Semifinals will be set, but despite having a previously established bracket they mix things up by random pairings for the 4 that advance today. While the match order isn’t set yet, promo graphics suggest it could be Yuki Arai vs. Suzume. The other Quarterfinals are RIka Tatsumi vs. Ryo MIzunami, Yuki Aino vs. Yuki Kamifuku and Zara Zakher, fresh off an upset win over Miu Watanabe in Round 2, faving Mizuki. The first half of the lineup is non-tournament matches, with an interesting 8-woman tag because it will be the first time the current Up Up Girls-Watanabe, Raku, Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami-have all been in such a match as a team. TNA Wrestling’s Masha Slamovich, in Japan for other events this next week, also will be participating today. It was announced in advance there will be no HIMAWARI today due to a stage/theater appearance.

Today’s event will be held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. There is a DDT event later today at the venue which will keep them on the clock as far as event running time goes, because of that I don’t see this event running longer than 2 1/2 hours.

Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Pom Harajuku vs. Mahiro Kiryu & Runa Okubo in a 3-way
Arisu Endo & Chika Nanase vs. Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami
Miu Watanabe, Raku, Shino Suzuki & Uta Takami vs. Shoko Nakajima, Wakana Uehara, Haru Kazashiro & Kira Summer
Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh vs. Masha Slamovich & Toga
Tokyo Princess Cup Quarterfinals:
Rika Tatsumi vs. Ryo Mizunami
Yuki Aino vs. Yuki Kamifuku
Zara Zakher vs. Mizuki
Yuki Arai vs. Suzume

Updates below will begin at 8:30 PM PT/11:30 PM ET.

9:15 PM PT UPDATE: Live stream has begun. We should go to the venue in about 15 minutes.

Pre-show news: The return date for the venue is 11/16, which will be The Mountain Top 2024. Sounds like that’ll be the monthly big event for November.

9:25 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now…
We are LIVE from Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka, Japan. There is no commentary.

The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Advance ticket sales seemed to really pick up over the last day or two and the opposite-hard camera section when we join was almost full. It’ll depend largely on the setup. I’m thinking it’ll be in the 700-750 range but there’s a chance of a sellout. (I think it’s a hard-camera only view today so with the lower level setup I’m going to adjust the estimate down to about 600. Not a sellout but looks at least 90% full) (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 370. Yikes, I was way off)

The matches will begin in a few minutes. They’re in hurry up mode, quickly going to Up Up Girls because they are an hour behind schedule and have to get the event done in time for a DDT event later today.

The matches begin at 9:35 PM PT/12:35 AM ET. Rika Tatsumi-Ryo Mizunami will be the main event. I thought it would be Suzume-Yuki Arai but that’s the 7th match of 8.
