Tokyo Joshi Pro continued the spring (now technically summer) house show tour today with the start of a weekend in western Japan, highlgithed by the return of Miyu Yamashita and (for a couple weeks) Maki Itoh from extended international excursions. Itoh is going away again in mid-July while Yamashita came back from what was, by all accounts, an incredibly successful 3-month trip to the US and Europe and brought back more titles with her.
Today’s event was held at Kobe Art Center in Kobe and will be available on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE at a later date (probably Tuesday). There was no live broadcast.
The announced paid attendance was 316, a super full house/very near sellout.
During the opening announcements, a TJPW INSPIRATION mini-event was announced for 8/17 at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring in Tokyo, to include Mizuki vs. Eiger (Aiger). Eiger is a longtime wrestler whose persona is essentially a ghost. Mostly has competed in the OZ Academy promotion and is a bit of a comedy wrestler.
Match 1: Kaya Toribami beat Haru Kazashiro.
Match 2: Nao Kakuta beat Toga.
Match 3: Yuki Kamifuku beat Shino Suzuki & Hikari Noa in a 3-way by pinning Suzuki.
Match 4: Yuki Arai beat HIMAWARI by submission. Interesting…(scorpion deathlock aka sharpshooter)
Match 5: Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao beat Raku & Pom Harajuku. Nakajima pinned Harajuku with a Northern Lights suplex hold.
Match 6: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe beat Yuki Aino & Mahiro Kiryu. Tatsumi pinned Kiryu after Daydream Eternity.
Main Event: Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Moka Miyamoto beat Mizuki, Suzume & Arisu Endo. Itoh beat Endo with Itoh Deluxe.
The next event is tomorrow at Nishitetsu Hall in Fukuoka, the final event before SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’23. Unfortunately for us outside the venue, there will be no live broadcast. You’ll have to wait for on demand, which should be available Wednesday.
