Tokyo Joshi Pro wrapped up the Tokyo Princess Cup today with the Finals.
Today’s event was held at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo and can be watched on demand on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English.
The paid attendance will be announced after the event. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 604)
During opening announcements, it was announced that Yoshiko Hasegawa regular participation will begin in September. Hasegawa is currently a freelancer.
Match 1: Runa Okubo beat Chika Nanase.
Match 2: Pom Harajuku beat Shino Suzuki.
Match 3: Mizuki & Haru Kazashiro beat Mei Suruga & Uta Takami. Mizuki pinned Takami with Cutie Special.
Match 4: Shoko Nakajima beat Yoshiko Hasegawa.
Match 5: Zara Zakher & Moka Miyamoto beat Rika Tatsumi & Kaya Toribami. Zakher pinned Toribami after Control Z.
Match 6: Miu Watanabe, Yuki Arai, Suzume & Arisu Endo beat Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara, Toga & Kira Summer. Endo pinned Uehara after The Tenth Law. Afterwards, Endo issued an International Princess Championship challenge to Arai even though they were teammates and won. That match will happen on 9/8 in Nagoya.
Main Event: Tokyo Princess Cup Finals: Ryo Mizunami beat Yuki Aino to win the tournament. That’s a shocker-an outsider wins it all (Mizunami is a freelancer). As a result, Mizunami will probably get the next shot at Princess Of Princess Champion Miu Watanabe, and I would expect it at WRESTLE PRINCESS 5. Updates to follow.
The next event is “Always Be A Challenger ’24” on 9/8 at Nagoya International Conference Center Event Hall in Nagoya. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE will begin on 9/7 at 8:15 PM PT/11:15 PM ET.
UPDATE: It’s now official. Mizunami gets the title shot against Watanabe at WRESTLE PRINCESS 5 on 9/22.
