The Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling members who are not in the US this weekend are part of an event in Tokyo today, which is likely going to be a comedy-themed event as it has a Raku Army vs. Pom Harajuku Army theme. The 16 participants have been divided into 2 teams of 8 and will compete in a variety of matches, which we won’t know the format of in advance, and they will be determined today by exchange of member lists. The winning team will get to share 10 kilos (22 pounds) of grilled eel made with love as a prize from event sponsor Yamada Suisan Co Ltd.. If nothing else, this event should be a lot of fun and worth the split-screen streaming opposite the DDT event in the US at the same time.
Today’s event will be held at Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will be no commentary. It’s hard to predict anything because we won’t even know the format until after the event gets underway but it probably will be a standard house show with a running time of between 1 1/2 & 2 hours. I’m thinking there will be a total of 4 or 5 matches. (Pre-show Update: According to WRESTLE UNIVERSE, 6 matches. 4 single matches and 2 tag matches)
Today’s lineup:
TBA at event/match time. We only know the teams are the Raku Army of Raku, Yuki Arai, HIMAWARI, Shino Suzuki, Haru Kazashiro, Chika Nanase, Ryo MIzunami & Ram Kaichow and the Pom Army of Pom Harajuku, Mahiro Kiryu, Neko Haruna, Kaya Toribami, Toga, Kira Summer, Uta Takami & Yoshiko Hasegawa. Sadly no Max The Impaler, at least on paper…

Updates below will begin at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 15 minutes prior to the event.
7:30 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.
We are LIVE frmo Ryogoku KFC Hall in Tokyo, Japan. There is no commentary.
The paid attendance will be announced after the event. Advance sales were unusually strong for a KFC Hall event and almost sold out ahead of time. The crowd is still filing in but based on normal full capacity and advance sales it could be right around 400 for a sellout but I’m going with a guess of a near-sellout 375. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 361, a legit sellout)
The event should begin momentarily.
The event starts with team captains Raku & Pom Harajuku coming out with envelops containing their lineups. Harajuku gets the comedy started quickly by trying to take the envelops away from ring announcer Sayuri Namba. Opening announcements follow during which an event in Las Vegas, NV is announced for April 18, 2025. I’d try to go but it’s right before I take off for a cruise in Japan! That’s also shortly before WWE WrestleMania 41 in Vegas. Up Up Girls then come out, sans Miu Watanabe of course because she’s in the US.
The matches begin at 7:50 PM PT/10:50 PM ET. The participants aren’t announced so we won’t know until they come out and their entrance music plays.
Match 1: Kaya Toribami (Pom Army) vs. Chika Nanase (Raku Army). 15 minute time limit
Result: Kaya Toribami beat Chika Nanase by submission
Match 2: Yoshiko Hasegawa (Pom Army) vs. Shino Suzuki (Raku Army). 15 minute time limit
Result: Yoshiko Hasegawa beat Shino Suzuki by submission
Match 3: Kira Summer & Neko Haruna (Pom Army) vs. Raku & Ram Kaichow (Raku Army). 20 minute time limit
Result: Raku & Ram Kaichow beat Kira Summer & Neko Haruna. Raku pinned Haruna.
Match 4: Mahiro Kiryu (Pom Army) vs. HIMAWARI (Raku Army). 15 minute time limit
Result: Mahiro Kiryu beat HIMAWARI
Match 5: Pom Harajuku (Pom Army) vs. Ryo Mizunami (Raku Army). 15 minute time limit
Result: Ryo Mizunami beat Pom Harajuku by submission
Which means the last match will be…
Main Event: Toga & Uta Takami (Pom Army) vs. Yuki Arai & Haru Kazashiro (Raku Army). 20 minute time limit
If Toga/Takami win, Pom Army wins. If Arai/Kazashiro win, tie.
Result: Yuki Arai & Haru Kazashiro beat Toga & Uta Takami. Arai beat Takami with a scorpion deathlock.
That means…TIE. 3-3. There must be a tiebreaker! Which led to…
Impromptu Match: Raku vs. Pom Harajuku in a 1 Count match. Only 1 count for pinfalls
Result: Raku beat Pom Harajuku. It only lasted a few seconds. As a result, Raku Army wins the event and the sponsor prize.
The next event is “The Mountain Top ’24” Saturday at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka with Miu Watanabe vs. Zara Zakher for the Princess Of Princess Championship and more. Unfortunately, unless plans change before then, there will be no live broadcast.
