Tokyo Joshi Pro continues the Tokyo Princess Cup today with the Semifinals. After the random re-draw to re-do the pairings the final 4 got mixed up from the original bracket to give us today’s matches-the first one is Shoko Nakajima vs. Miu watanabe and the second is Yuki Arai vs. Arisu Endo. The winners will meet in the finals for the next shot at Princess Of Princess Champion Mizuki, likely at WRESTLE PRINCESS 6 next month.
There have been last-minute changes to the card today because Suzume is now off the event. The always-vague poor health. She was to have teamed with Ren Konatsu to face HIMAWARI & Mifu Ashida. It’s now a 3-way with Mahiro Kiryu replacing Ashida and Ashida replacing Kiryu in a 6-woman tag match teaming with Hyper Misao & Toga against Mizuki, Raku & Pom Harajuku. This also means a planned portrait hand-over event with Suzume is now off. Refunds will be given to those who purchased her portraits in advance.
Today’s event will be held at Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE. There will likely be no commentary. There are 7 matches planned and the tournament matches will have no time limit so this event probably will run longer than normal, I anticipate it going around 2 1/2 hours.
Today’s lineup (match order TBA):
Mahiro Kiryu vs. Ren Konatsu & HIMAWARI in a 3-way
Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara vs. Kira Summer & Chika Nanase
Maki Itoh & Shino Suzuki vs. Haru Kazashiro & Uta Takami
Mizuki, Raku & Pom Harajuku vs. Hyper Misao, Toga & Mifu Ashida
Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami vs. Rika Tatsumi & Yuki Aino
Tokyo Princess Cup Semifinals:
Yuki Arai vs. Arisu Endo
Shoko Nakajima vs. Miu Watanabe

Updates below will begin at 8:30 PM PT/11:30 PM ET. The live stream is scheduled to begin 15 minutes before the event.
8:15 PM PT UPDATE: The live stream has begun. We should be going to the venue in just under 15 minutes.
8:20 PM PT UPDATE: Live updates begin now.
We are LIVE from Osaka Prefectural Gym 2 in Osaka, Japan. There is no commentary.
The paid attendance will be announced after the event. The initial seating map was for a setup of roughly 450, or about 1/3 of the venue’s normal post-pandemic capacity. I didn’t get a full-crowd shot as we went live unexpectedly early but based on advance ticket sales I’ll predict a small-ish number of around 350. (UPDATE: The announced paid attendance was 422, a full house/near sellout)
They must be on a tight clock today as Up Up Girls come out 5 minutes before the event start time.
The matches begin at 8:33 PM PT/11:33 PM ET. The order above is the actual order except the first 2 matches swapped positions.

Match 2: Mahiro Kiryu vs. Ren Konatsu & HIMAWARI in a 3-way. 20 minute time limit

Main Event: Tokyo Princess Cup Semifinals: Shoko Nakajima vs. Miu Watanabe. No time limit
Result: Miu Watanabe beat Shoko Nakajima. As a result, Watanabe advances to the Finals.
The Final is Endo vs. Watanabe. It also means that on 8/23 the TBA facing Itoh will not be either of these two.
The Final is Saturday at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. Live streaming on WRESTLE UNIVERSE in Japanese and English will begin Friday at 7:30 PM PT/10:30 PM ET. Kira Summer and referee Fumirin will be guests on English commentary.
UPDATE: The TBA facing Maki Itoh Saturday, who is an eliminated tournament wrestler, has been announced…Yuki Arai. Oh boy…
