GRAND PRINCESS ‘26, Tokyo Joshi Pro’s biggest event of the year, is finally here. That means the wait is possibly over for the moment I’ve been waiting for-Yuki Arai’s first chance to become Princess Of Princess Champion as she faces Miu Watanabe in the main event. If she succeeds, she will join Watanabe & Rika Tatsumi as the only “triple crown” champions in TJPW to have held all 3 of the promotion’s titles. Also watching closely will be J-Ros because she gets another title shot at the winner in Las Vegas next month. Elsewhere, MIRAI defends the International Princess Championship against Suzume and Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara defend the Princess Tag Team Championship against The Iinspiration/Iiconics. All the champs will also receive the new title belts that become effective today too.
There has been a last-minute change to the event due to Max The Impaler being pulled off. Visa issues. Unfortunate and very sad because she was to have teamed with Pom Harajuku and Aja Kong was joining Wasteland Pom Party this time to face Yuki Aino, Shoko Nakajima & Haru Kazashiro. Today’s event will be held at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo and can be watched LIVE on WRESTLE UNIVERSE and ABEMA (that service’s WRESTLE UNIVERSE add-on is required) in Japanese. Natsukihime Nakayama of OCHA NORMA will be the special guest on commentary and, for some matches, former SKE48 member Marika Tani will also be a guest. You will also be able to watch the first match FOR FREE on YouTube. There are 10 matches planned with a 15-minute intermission after the 7th match (before the title matches) and the second match has no time limit, so it’s not unreasonable for this event to possibly be the longest of the year at around 4 hours, I’ll predict it will come close at about 3 1/2 hours.
